| THE FACTOR BY MORANT |
Today I would love to find some horses that have value but the earlier races I will pass on. I like the later races.
Race 1
A contentious route race for fillies and mares for the claiming price of $12,500. The pace scenario looks fast on the front-end with Brooke's Fantasy and Tripped The Light behind the class dropper Dextera who switches to the main track. On past performance Dextera and Torrey Cliffs look to be the horses that will be backed by the public. Champagneandlilies won her last race at the level of non winners of two. She will mix it up on the front end. I expect the class drop for Dextera will be enough to put her in the winner's circle if Torrey Cliffs hangs down the lane.
1. Dextera 2. Torrey Cliffs 3.Champagneandlilies
Race 2
Speed is deadly at this distance of five furlongs with Wholelotacongrats, the son of Congrats who showed speed on the turf facing open maiden special weight company. P-Val. goes to the first time starter Reggiano but Joel Rosario climbs aboard. Preferred Mandate will be sent to the early lead along with Doug O'Neil's colt Wholelotacongrats.
1.Wholelotacongrats 2 Preferred M 3. High Valley Guy
Cost Of Ticket $15 out
Race 3
I like to have a live longshot but Syllabus looks like the horse to beat! The longshot just might be A Cat Named Snipe who looks to be on the improve and upswing.
1. Syllabus 2. A Cat Named Snipe 3. Dee Dee's L
Race 4
Sterling Outlook ran a great race down the hill with Ace and a Face. He looks to be the speed with Dahoud not far behind. Since the race is taken off the turf. Sterling Outlook looks like the speed of this race. If no one goes with him he just might steal this race. Hughesy beat Champ Peg at this track last year he has been off since summer but he is a talented son of Unbridled Song who relishes the turf and distance. Royal FJ took some time off for the Jack Carvana barn. Carvana has strung together seven morning drills for his combacker today. He has run with some talented horses and at 12 to 1 morning line he looks to be a good value bet across the board.
1. Royal FJ 2. Sterling Outlook 3.Hughesy
A live longshot is Teafatiller with Paul A.
Pick Three 1,5,6,9 with 4 with 1,4,6 won but -$2.00
$20 Place and Show on (5) Royal FJ
ROI $62 minus $15= $47 ROI- $45.00
Race 5
I love the last race with Piney River. Baffert takes off the blinkers and Piney River shortens up in distance. She looks to be the pure speed of this field. Bombs away with a short price at the windows. Swiss Charm hopes to turn the tables on the top choice with the positive sign of blinkers going on her and a better post position coupled with JR climbing aboard. Benchmark fillies improve with racing experience and Bench Beauty and Gomez makes her a contender. Running Isabella a first time starter for Carl O'Callahan teamed up last month with Mike Smith and hit a bomb over 35 to 1................ Beware this filly has been training awesome in the morning time with long work-outs which I love to see.
1. Piney River 2. Running Isabella 3. Swiss Charm
Pick Three
Race 5 (4)
Race 6 1,4,6
Race 7 3,4,5,8
Race 6
A wide open low level sprint............ suspect field with most of these horses having a fair chance to win this. Quite honestly you might have a very good case for each and every runner. I would be shock to see Ida Of March win this race!
Let's give Lost Prophet and Dos Veinte a pass
1. Dinnr With Nikki C 2. Lost Prophet 3. Dos Veinte
Pick Four 1,4,6 with 3,4,5,8 with 3,7,8 with 1,3
Cost Of 50 cent Pick Four $36
Race 7
Warren's Lady returns after being well bet and most importantly showing speed at six and half furlongs She shortens up for a diploma today!
1. Warren's Lady 2. Tribal Mistress 3. Beautiful Year
Baffert's filly owned by his wife looks live Whoopsie
Race 8
Sway Away looked awesome winning his debut last summer. In the Best Pal he ran into JP's Gusto but finished second. He won on dirt in his debut and has fired in his debut. Sway Away can win this race! Remember that on my blog last summer I posted the video of Sway Away at the fair up north.......... a big talented colt for Jeff Bonde.
The Factor earned a big speed number coupled with the awesome looking maiden win for Bob Baffert and Fog City Stable.
Premier Pegasus is three for three. I was impressed enough before I saw Uncle Mo's race that he had a real shot for the run for the roses. I still think that!
Indian Winter is maturing day by day and posted by big number over this track. Indian Winter is a talented horse. I could be wrong but here is my top three picks.
1. The Factor 2. Sway Away 3. Premier Pegasus
Race 9
Queen Of California and Sparrow look to be the top contenders in this sprint maiden race. Queen drops after showing speed facing better. Patrick stays with her! Sparrow returns after being claimed at Del Mar by John Sadler.......... she looks live! Rolling Tide is the speed horse dropping after facing much better company. A interesting first time starter is X Cessive Love looks like a runner.
1. Rolling Tide 2. Sparrow 3. X Cessive Love
