SATURDAY AT SANTA ANITA PARK

                             SANTA ANITA PARK

SMILING TIGER BY MORANT

I added up the profit and subtracted the losses from Friday which came to be a ROI of $243.20. The starting bank was $250.00 + $243.20= $493.20

                     Bank  $493.20

Race 1

A sprint for low level claimers..... Wet track........... speed is deadly at Santa Anita this meet. The winner of this race I expect will be Lauren C or Rev Her Up or Misinjennous. The pace scenario might have Funky Soup gunning it to lead. Sign In a stable-mate of Funky ships in from Turf Paradise has handle the dirt at Fairplex last summer when she beat non winner's at the claimer level of $20K. I like Lauren C could has faced much better company she needs to be sent right off the lead so she can reel in the speed at the top of the lane. The favorite will be Rev Her Up so I will try to beat her at the wire with Lauren C. The longshot is Sign Up.......

    1. Lauren C  2. Rev Her Up

    3. Misinjennous/Sign Up

Early Pick Four   3,4,5,6 with  3 with 1,4,5 with 5,6,8

Cost Of Ticket $18.00

Race 2

Mark Of A Warrior looks to be out on the lead with Truco. This race is void of any true speed types except Mark Of A Warrior and Truco.......Both shippers from Golden Gate look to be in form and fit.

     1. Mark Of A Warrior  2. Flashy Green 3. Truco

Race 3

I assume this race is off the turf. Bourbon Bay is the man when it comes to the Santa Anita turf marathon but on the dirt this race is open for a upset. Haimish Hy to me seem to not relish the dirt so I will pass. He might hit the board. Riviera Cocktail is a player but others look better to me. Juniper Pass has a big shot and I expect a major player when he posted big speed numbers after racing in the Hollywood Derby. It is hard to make a excuse out of his last ho-hum race........ he is better then what he did in mid-level allowance race on January 17th. On dirt Champ Pegasus looks like the one to fear and BB might be chasing him down again at the wire. Falcon Rocks can run all day long but he has been beaten by some of these horses today. Unbridle's Dream is a interesting horse who is bred to run longer......... has a big look on dirt.

    1. Champ Pegasus  2. BB   3. Junipter Pass

Pick Three

3rd    1,5
4th   5,6,8
5th   5,7,9

Race 4

A wide open sprint race on a wet track for 3 year old fillies. Darling Ciana gets back to sprinting where she won at Hollywood. She was in too deep in Stakes route races. She drops in class and I expect she will improve sprinting at this level. Meter Me Gone drops from a 40K dollars level after finishing 4th...... if the speed melts down Joel Rosario will have her passing rivals down the stretch. Roulette It Roll shipping in from the bay area might be the betting favorite after her win at Golden Gate. Andy M fires live horses when he comes to Santa Anita. Bejarano takes the mount. Social Event....... she can flat out close on this field. Another filly that might upset this field is Hanakkuh who ran a respectable second at the $16K level on January 27th. She had to need her last race.........the trainer and jockey combo is solid. Her best surface is on dirt so Beware!

1 Hanakkuh   2. Roulette It Roll  3. Social Event

  $20 Place on 6

Race 5

A interesting line up and a great betting race with many unknowns. Toy who if he runs back to the Calder win looks live! He shortens up with the addition of blinkers and looks spotted for action. A major contender! Period.... Courtside I picked at Del Mar when he smoked a 32K maiden race. He is a talented gelding for John Sadler My concern is that Joel Rosario gets off Courtside to go to Toy. Palio Prince will be over-looked at the betting windows when he dropped out of straight maiden ranks and smoked a $40K group on January 27th. He can take this race. Look  at Speed Bias who beat Swiss Hero and Captain Shawn a key maiden race. He takes off the hood and has strung together some fast yes fast morning works. Check out his works for a trainer that is very cagey Adam Kitchingman. Martin Pedroza takes over for the bug boy.

     1. Toy   2. Speed Bias    3. Palio Prince

Pick Three  5,7,9 with 2,8,9,10 with 12

Race 6

A fun race to watch and bet. Mildly Offensive who will be hammered at the windows arrives with blazing fast drills. If she runs like she runs in the morning time her rivals will be running for second. She worked 1:10 and change from the gate on January 31st. A bullet with blue-blood pedigree in tow. But do remember this is a first time starter and trouble can happen. Another first time starter that will be over-looked is Denali Moon. Her dam was a "off-track winner"! Take note. The candy ride filly for trainer John Sadler Home Sweet Aspen looks like a runner............ these are the fillies I like here!

  1.Mildly Offensive 2.Denali Moon 3.Home Sweet Aspen

Pick 4     10   with 1,3,12 with 2,4,5,6 with 8

  Race 7

           1. Royce   2. Get My Fix  3. Kevlar Kid

 Race 8

Smiling Tiger fires some big races and I expect today he will be on the front end alone. If he runs back to the race where he almost beat  Twirling Candy then this field will be running for second. The question mark is what happen in his last race and one of distance. He is the one to fear! Captain Cherokee is sharp and is a major player with Smiling Tiger. The upsetter is a horse I have always thought highly of....... Ventana who adds the blinkers........... Supreme Summit will be closing at this distance and might be the one to fear at the wire!

     1. Smiling Tiger  2. Ventana 3. Supreme Summit/CC

Race 9

On paper Klassy Saint who was well bet in his debut showed gas then faded. He shortens up in distance and he might be long gone. Joy Scott Thunder Of Zion might give the Saint all he needs on the front-end. In fact Thunder Of Zion might be a little quicker then Saint. He might not give it up so easy Today............ lot's to like about Zion in this spot. Cabo San Lucas has gas and will be sent to the front end.

     1. Klassy Saint   2. Cabo  3. Sea And Sage

       Sea And Sage longshot

Watch the pre warm ups as the second time starter Sea And Sage............ with great pedigree and please remember that one race does not make a career............. at 20 to 1 morning line......Sharp five furlong work-out.... so Beware!

Race 7

Kevlar Kid gets back to the ideal distance and surface for him. He has tactical speed and can sit right off the speed. Sensational News won his debut and looked great! If he is fit and ready to fire after a long lay-off...........He looks spotted for action with solid morning drills.... Do not take this one lightly. Gallatin's Run is flat out fast and will add the blinkers today for P-Val. In a off track he moves up big time today. The class of the race might just be Get My Fix who has missed all of 2010. But check out his classy races and has been working up a storm....... He might be the one to fear down the lane. Royce has run some game races last year. He has talent!  He has a sharp blow-out preparing for this race. If he runs back to what he is capable of he has a shot to upset this field. He adds blinkers for Paco and the red hot Flores is in the irons. What out for Galientos trying to steal this race on the front-end going gate to wire I expect maybe Sensational News will go with him. I know Gallatin's Run will............ if the track is slow then the race sets up for a closer .............Kevlar Kid...... Get My Fix or Royce............. this is a wide open affair with many pace factor's that are unknown. Fun Betting race for sure!
