FRIDAY AT SANTA ANITA PARK

ANTHONY'S CROSS BY D. MORANT

ZAZU BY MORANT

                                 Bank $250.00

Race 1

The speed is Cookinthisorthat second time routing for  Lewis Cenicola. This daughter of Benchmark switches to the turf coupled with racing experience should improve giving both Bathing Beauty and Ready Go Jaylo fits at the top of the lane. I expect with some racing luck Gomez will have the first crack with these fillies. Expect a big performance for Ready Go Jaylo she should love the added distance........ a coin flip with the top pair and hard to separate. Tribal Beauty is bred for turf for James Cassidy and mark a big improvement with her as Smith takes the call to re-ride. I expect he will take back this horse and make a Zenyatta like run....like he does on every horse his rides lately.

  1.Bathing Beauty 2.Ready Go Jaylo

  3.Cookinthisothat

   Tribal Beauty....bred for Turf!

   $20 Daily Double 7 with 4 $20 win place 7

DAILY DOUBLE $130 minus bet returned  $110.00 plus the  $38.00 ROI on the win and place equals $148.00

Race 2

Milliondollarbill drops in class for the money run. She does the quarter in 21.1... ..... she looks long gone facing a suspect group of fillies. Misty Carmel has gas and will be sent to the lead with Patrick V in the irons. On paper this is what the pace scenario looks like. Quentin Gallivan hard to endose a six year old first time starter but having said that.... she is working fast over this track with excellent morning drills......... has a outside chance to shock this field at double digit odds.

    1.Milliondollarbill 2.Misty Carmel 3.Q. Gallivan

Race 3

No monsters in this race....... Visual Intensity is the speed and will be overbet with Joel Rosario re-riding her for Clifford Sise. A player moving up from the claiming ranks. Redemsky is bred for turf removes the blinkers coupled with the fact that Corey re-rides her makes her a major contender with this modest field of California breds. Queen's Rite the gelding is well bred for turf....... Smart Strike a win early pedigree with Artie Schiller.........looks live to win this first time out.  The Unusual Heat gelding is a interesting pedigree that has a high percentage of babies in California that win........Tee Martunis with Blanc riding.

   1. Queen's Rite 2.Redensky  3.Visual Intensity

Race 4

On looking at the past performances of this suspect modest field Warren's Gridlock is the best of the lot. At the very least he is in form with speed going long. He will be overbet! Candy For Paseana will show more speed with the ground saving trip on the rail. Sutherland was fighting the horse most of the race last time out. Victor takes the call on Candy... a positive move! Anga will make a final run at the top of the lane with Bejarano sticking with Anga. He has some traffic problems his last race with Warren's Gridlock. I expect Free Beer with a race under his belt to show major improvement. He will be closing late and if the horses I have mention fade into the setting sun then Free Beer will reel in the leaders at the wire. A wide open affair. Another horse that is coming back after facing much better company is Unusual Encounters...... Sutherland re-rides is live longshot!

    1.Free Beer 2.Unusual Encounters 3.Warren's G.

$20 Place on 5    Returned  ROI $86.00

Race 5

Stormin Proud Papa looks like the one to fear but this race Papa will not have fast factions to run at like he did his last race. Having said that he is in form and fit to win! Tiger Trysts looked good winning last summer at Fairplex. He has speed with a tactical style to win this race. My other horse is Montellano who might get a early uncontested lead......... and tell this group Come catch me....! I expect at this distance today both Montellano and Stormin Proud Papa to go with each other setting it up for Regroup who is cutting back in distance to seven furlongs to close on this field.

  1. Regroup  2. Tiger Trysts 3. Montellano/ Papa

$20 place and  show 7  ROI $71.20

Pick Four  7 with 2,5 with 1,2,4,6,9  with  3,5

Cost $10.00

Race 6

Warren's Flyer should love the class drop after facing much better company in 4 straight stake races. Nescent looks to be the speed stretching out to two turns. Going For A Spin has a respectable route race under her belt. She should improve off that effort last time out. Bejarano rides this live filly for the Jerry Hoffendorfer stable. If Warren's Flyer does not fire then Going For A Spin looks to reel in the rabbits at the top of the lane

    1 Warren's Flyer 2 Going For A Spin

Late Pick Three  2,5 with 1,2,4,6,9 with 3,5

Cost $20.00

Race 7

Mike Smith rides his mounts like he is riding Zenyatta everytime. Take the horse back to dead last then make a sweeping 5 lane wide turn at the top of the lane. This is what he did with Crisis Of Spirit and many other horses that he rides. He can make amends. The horse to fear is Crisis if the import Saratoga Sunshine fails to fire for Mike Mitchell. A must use here. I love tha way Lea The Punisher won beating up on a soft field She shortens up in distance and lands the cozy outside post. She is a player as well. Stocking is training fast for John Sadler and Joel Rosario shows up. Excellent News is solid for Bob Baffert........ check out that six furlong workout on Feb 7th....man that's fast!

    1. Crisis Of Spirit 2. Church Camp

    3. Lea The Punisher

Looks like a runner.......... S. Sunshine

GOOD LUCK TO JIM ROME RACING STABLE

Race 8

Nothing gets me excited about the final race on Friday's card......... Golden Jet trained by Cassidy drops for the money run with solid fast works under her belt. Beware of her works indicates that she is spotted for action. Go Sophia faced much better company open straight maidens for Dominguez. She should run a big race. Zee's Chris tab the change in jockeys and she takes the blikers off for a closing kick down the lane. Mike Mitchell is hot with first time starters but draws the short straw and gets the rail for her debut. Warren's Jazz Walk gets Pedroza and he should have her in great position to make a winning kick down the lane. I like here ........ and expect a big dance with this field.

    1. Warren's Jazz Walk  2. Golden Jet

    3. Go Sophia................ my top three contenders
