Race 1       Five Half Maiden Special

Bob Baffert's Stable has been on fire with talented young fillies and colts. He has two colts entered in this maiden race. The favorite Tokubetsu who with a race under his belt is the horse to fear!  The other is a first time starter . Midnight Interlude might look better on the turf but having said that he has been firing bullets in the morning time. I expect Cabo San Lucas will be the speed of this race. They have to run him down. Hollywood Heist with P-Val will be on the lead with Cabo San Lucas....Wild Native trained by Jeff Blonde looks like a runner to me. Beware he might fire a big race.


Race 2       Six Furlongs Claimer 25K

The Phenom is the speed of this race. He shortens up in distance. If The Phenom gives it up down the stretch I like a closer Winning Desire...... He exits a key maiden race in which 2 horses have come out of that race a won.

Race 3       One Mile Maiden Special

A contentious cast of turf horses and dirt horses routing to get there diploma today. Dream Kid posted a big speed number. With his pedigree he should love the two turns in distance. Unex Dali looked full of run when he almost won his last race after walking out of the gate. Parable and World Renowned look live as a team..... both are contenders to win this! Remember World Renowned ran with The Factor...... The son of A.P. Indy should love the distance. I bet this dude his first race. He had a ton of trouble.......in his debut. He exits a key maiden race in which three horses have come out of this race and flat out won.

Race 4       Six Furlongs Maiden 50K

I like the Ghostzapper filly Tuesdays With P...... She was well bet in her debut as she finished a respectable third. She switches barns and goes to Bob Baffert. She has fired some fast morning drills for her return. The first time starter for Mike Mitchell looks live One Bad Romance. He is a cagey trainer when it comes to first time starters. He usually has them fit and ready to fire there best race.



Race 5       Six Furlongs Claimer 12K

I pick Forty Dates her last race and she won. She takes a hike up in class. She is fit and in form. She is one tough cookie having won 4 races with 5 seconds out of 12 starts. Cato Major the shipper from Golden Gate has won 3 of her last six races. She gets the cozy outside post position to close. She is a contender to win this race. I expect Subpoena The Dress to close but she must have some racing lucky to get clear from the rail. She is a contender. Poetic Riches is a horse I pick ...She looked awesome coming off the pace and winning. She takes a hike up in class. She can win! This race lacks speed except Bettyboomboom. She has been off for a year....... rarely does a horse come back after a year off and win. But this just might be the exception.... Peter Eurton can get them ready. Moreover her two win have come off lay offs....... it's a stretch but she looks live for a upset.



Race 6       Six Half Turf Claimer 40K

A weird race for only four year olds with no speed except Derrick Do. He comes back in seven days....after fading badly......If and I say if you can give him a valid excuse racing with quality horses in his last then he looms large as a logical contender because of his speed. Mr. Tokyo and Thomas Baines are both logical contenders to win coming off the pace. The upsetter is Cardiff Giant who has back class to win this down the hill turf sprint.


Race 7       San Pasqual Stakes

I like the pace setter Aggie Engineer who I pick as my top selection in the Pace Advantage contest this weekend. He has been working over the dirt in fine fashion..... Come Catch him if you can today.


Race 8       One Mile Turf Optional Claimer

I like Joel Rosario's horse  Circa'sgoldengear to wire this one mile turf race. Control Seeker is the one I fear down at the wire.



 

Race 9       Six Furlongs Maiden 30K

Harborton the new face looks interesting with first time blinkers on.. Her Beyer new are low...but no horses in this field have strong speed numbers. No real monsters in this low level maiden race.
