Race 1     One Mile Sixteenth Claimer (8K)
I'm not thrilled with the first series of racing tonight but I guess it is what it is. What can I say about Joel Rosario's performance the past week. He has been riding lights out and has 12 wins. Tonight he climbs aboard Twodollarstowin.  Solider Betty looms the horse to take it all. She drops in class and gets the new bug boy with weight off. My main concern is her running style: she is a plodder which I do not like. She has no speed and will take a run at the top of the lane to close. I can't trust the whole lot of these horse and would rather watch maiden at 25K run then this! Having said this Pokomoke might wake up if he got involved in the first part of a race. Martin Garcia re-rides is as positive sign I hope. My long shot in this race is Roger Stein's horse with a bug boy Daniella Roth...



Race 2      Five Half Furlong Claimer (10K)
Pretty Kinzie has raced with tougher and she likes the cushion track.
Joel is reunited with PK and he is riding in a zone at Hollywood this year. Shine N Time beat Pretty Kinzie on May 15th and fits with this race. Sweet and Jazzy is the horse I like and now she faced winners and gave a good account of herself. I expect the team of French and Bejarano to be a major player coming down the lane. She has speed and tactical speed if she wants to lay off the pace. The Women's Diva should like the distance and be a speed factor but the question is what will happen the last furlong with this horse. Will the wheels come off? That seems likely...... but she does have a outside chance to light up the tote board.

Race 3      Five Furlong Maiden (40K)
A good betting race and tough maiden 40k sprint for babies. Leslie Rules has been favored in all of her 4 starts. She draws the inside post which will help her and has speed. Moreover, she puts on blinkers and she has faced straight maidens and now needs the drop in class. First time starter Chaturunga out of AC's barns has a bullet on June 21st. Table For One looks to improve and on June 10th at Hollywood was only beaten by a half length. Look who stays with her and she is a contender. Negra Tomasa was just a length behind Table For One and gets David Flores for a big bonus tonight. Desperate Measures comes out of  Harris Farms and is trained by Carla Gaines. Beware of this horse she is excellent with Babies!

Last night ,Martin Pedroza and Danny V. sent out Grand Manevuer and finish getting a respectable 3rd. Tonight Danny V. has a first time starter , A.P.Indy baby out of Honour and Glory named To Be Devant. Danny seems to not train his horses fast in the morning so I will not overlook this first timer.

Race 4       Six Furlong Turf Maiden Special Weight
 Sarbonne's trainer John Shirreffs is using all the tricks in his bag to get this horse to show some run. He puts on blinkers switches to six furlong turf sprint. Mike Smith I assume has a riding contract because that is the only reason he re-rides this maiden. As Jay Trotter would say.... Pass!  Bacara sold for 500k and gets Baffert's main man Martin" White Hot" Garcia to ride this first time starter. The son of Storm Cat out of the mare Spain shows a strong work out tab. Baffert is hitting at 25% with first time starter... So Beware he might be posed for a big dance tonight.  I love the work on May 30th 1:12 and then the next work out was :48. If he needs a race under his belt it seems the winner tonight is Sammartino.
It looks like Sammartino has found a field that he might be ready to win. He has speed and shown ability and the switch to turf is just what he needs. He is a contender big time tonight. Sulution has the pedigree and a bullet on June 20th has shown life in this colt. I like the pedigree of the first time starter Tizzy Desert Star but I might just watch his first race tonight.



Race 5       One Mile Sixteenth  O.C.A
 Isle Of Giant's just smoked the 25K claimers by 16 lengths and seems to love the cushion track.  Great to see that Cecil does not enter him in for a tag tonight.  Tiz True along with Isle of Giant's is my top picks in the race.

Race 6       Five Half Maiden (25K)  
Sipnzin trained by Tery Knight who like Ron Ellis sends them out fit and ready to roll. She was well clear of the third horse and ran into a buzz saw in her first time out. Misstrailcity Zone needs the county fairs to win. A professional maiden with 23 races. The tune is Someday soon  with this horse. Pass!  Sweet Patricia with Tyler Baze up and trained by Gary Sherlock seems ready to rock and roll. She has speed and at five and half she will be sent! Warren's Rose is a first time starter and look who's riding........ I cannot dismiss this horse with Alydar and out of a mare by Cozzene.  Atta Girl another professional veteran with a great sounding name but not much else. Pass! Any horse send out by Dan Hendricks you need to look at and the morning line is 3 to 1 seems low to me. My unknown or long shot is:  Chobe Chika, she has speed in her first race in a maiden special weight race. The wheels came off for her and she needed time to mend. I live the workouts and she will be overlook tonight so I might put some money on her to hit the board. Her morning line is 12 to 1. I will play her with others in this race in my late pick 3/4.



Race 7       Six Furlong Turf Culver City Stakes
On May 21st in the Great Lady Stakes Unzip Me won while Minute Limit,Porto Marmay and Dotsy Jean finish in this order. Dotsy Jean to me is the one to beat!  She looks like she bounce after winning the allowance race on May 1st. She is a tough customer and I expect Martin Jones to have her fit and ready but one word of caution and that might be her slow work outs...
Let me not get ahead of myself because the horse that I like and have followed her from her first win at Hollywood is Bonifaco. She enters tonight race having been layed off for two months. This will be her toughest race so far in her brief career. her only turf race was very impressive and she has not ran a dull race yet.

Race 8       Five Half Furlong Maiden (25)
A mad dash to the wire closes out Friday Night under the Lights. Searfavoritesecret in her first race last year showed speed at 62k. Her daddy was Storm Cat out of the mare Saros. Martineze gets a bug boy and weight off and the rail is winning at the clip of 25% at five and half furlongs........ She is a contender.  Ron Ellis with horses coming off a vacation and is a Horse Whisper'er getting them fit and cranked up.  I expect he has Joint Adventure ready to dance tonight. This horse is a major player. He has the new bug boy Alex Gonzalez in the irons. Otto's Fast Lil has a bullet workout but in the afternoon has not done much as to try to pass a horse in a race. He needs the fair circuit like Grants Pass or Portland Meadows to win. Misty Miss Joanna has speed and tactical speed and of course in this field of dreams is a major player tonight. Martin Jones looks like he has the horse to beat if Ellis's horse needs a race. A Cee Tizzy's horse Make It Mine is the horse to beat if you can. He will be backed by the public tonight. He shortens up and will be sent to the lead by guess who Joel R....... enough said!
