Update. The bank is $581.00 and I might take a wack at a late Pick three and maybe a small bet on Race 5, 6, and the 7th.... I will post my bets 15 minutes before the start of the race. So you might want to refresh this page to see my bets. Good Luck Everyone!
End of Night Update ROI $201+$500= $701
Race 1 Seven Furlong Claimer (8K)
1. Pink Diamond or Miss Anime
Race 2 Five Furlong Maiden Claimer (40K)
Leslie Rule should make the lead tonight and is a major contender in this sprint for babies. I think Good Acktress might have a say on the outcome of this race. A interesting well bred horse is Magdalena's Song Out of Unbridled Song and by speed demon Phone Trick and her trainer is excellent with babies Hector Palmer : So just don't dismiss her and you might want to take a look at her on the track.
1. Leslie Rules 2. Good Acktress 3.Queen of Tahoe
Race 3 Six Furlong Turf Claimer (40K)
Sprint on the Turf in a race that starts the Pick Six. Get Funky got killed with a brutal trip last time out. The pro is hard to read but won a fast 50K sprint two races back. Position A has been freshened and likes this course and should position himself right off the pace. Quietly Mine is a pro but maybe is getting a little long in the tooth but he too is a contender. I like the hike in class with Hewitt raising him two levels. The draw back is that his record on the turf is not as sharp as I would like. And that leads me to a live long shot Best Mon who as a three year old has faced Candy's Lion and Zensational and beat Gotmymojoworkin. Paul Aguirre a cagey trainer resigns Tyler Baze....to ride tonight... no throw out in a race with many contenders. A tough turf race for 40K.
$20 to place 3 Best Mon
UPDATE $4.80 to place ROI $28.00+ $581= $609
Race 4 One Mile Sixteenth Claimer (8K)
I'm watching the first few races tonight. Bill Morey looks like he has another live horse from Golden Gate with Super Harmony. Quarta Coroa stretches out and should be forwardly place sitting right off the pace. Don't Ya Lovette is a major player also.
1. Super Harmony 2. Souvenir Slew 3.Quarta Coroa
Long shot: Day with Desi
Race 5 One Mile Turf Maiden Special Weight
There appears to me not much pace to run at in this miler on the turf except with the outside speed horse Syncobeat. Syncobeat shortens up to a mile but must be sent so he will not lose ground around the first turn. The horse that might love the added distance is second time starter Besame Suances. Vienna's record with stretch out maidens is excellent. He can win at a price tonight. Lodi Red wants this distance a mile on the turf out of relaunch is a major contender.
I like Besame Saunces and the horse Mike Smith is on Dana Dynamo should love the one mile on the turf and gets blinkers on which I like. The horse on the rail Minister D' Oro is the horse that is the one to fear closing down the stretch..... and the one to beat. I think I will start a Pick three using 5 horses.
$20 Place on Dana Dynamo
$609- $20= $589
1. Dana Dynamo 2. Besame Suances 3. Syncobeat
Race 6 Six Half Furlongs Maiden Special Weight
I watch the video of the race at Hollywood with Hugs to All. He pressed the pace and finish better then what appears on paper. Moreover, Tyler Baze is staying on this horse. A full brother to Alphabet Kisses, trained by Marty Jones, was well bet in his debut figures to improve in his second start. Having said this I think is race is wide open with a number of sprinters that can win. Wylie N Wyatt if he can learn to break sharply at the gate is a major player.
There is two horses that might surprise the tote board tonight. The rail horse Dance Marino has run races that puts him in the mix. Another horse that might be overlooked is Smokey Wonder. Smokey Wonder adds Lasix was well bet 11 months ago at Hollywood and showed speed in his debut. Smokey Wonder out of Video Ranger and is trained by a cagey trainer. The Morning line is 20 to 1 on Smokey Wonder and it might be a horse that you might want to put in your late Pick three.
6th 1,2,3,4,5,9
7th 7
8th 11,13
UPDATE $589- $12= $577
Race 7 One Mile Turf AOC (25K)
Jack's Wild the veteran might be getting a little long in the tooth because he has run races that would crush this 25K Miler. Teafatiller beat My Boy Walsh but ran two races at this level and seemed to hang like a cheap suit. One Man's Delight drops in class and facing a somewhat weak field. The horse I think might run a big race tonight is Miguel's Mascot. In his 10 starts he has face some quality horses and beat Bourbon Bay at Hollywood at this distance two years ago. The main question is he fit and cranked up to win tonight. He has been off a 11 months but his works are strong and steady. Moreover, there appears to be no monsters in this field.
1. Miguel's Mascot 2.Jack's Wild 3. Ones Man's Delight
Race 8 Six Furlong Maiden Claimer (25K)
Looks like a number of Maiden Special Weight and a few high price horses dropping to the low level of Maiden Claimer. This tells me that you might not want to trust there past performances since many are coming off a long lay off. First, the rail horse Gold Schleiger has face better company and enters after 11 months off. Tyler Baze rides and that is a plus. Handicapping this race might be like the movie Let It Ride when Jay Trotter asks everyone "Who do you like." and then pencils out the horses who people tell him "This Horse is a Mortal Lock ". I feel somewhat like Jay Trotter in picking a winner in this race.
Back to the tonight's race...... Herzog bought for 250K shows up tonight for 25K and has a series of fast drills for Baffert.... Go figure!... Pass...
Stormy Ambition goes back on the dirt has a good speed figure and is one of the contenders. Pass!....Valen is a interesting sort and sports a excellent work out tab. He adds blinkers tonight and I like his long work outs. Moreover, He might be place at a realistic level, not Maiden Special Weight but Maiden 25k claimers. Self Defense with the new bug boy in town looks like he will sit off the pace and close down the stretch. I like his last long work outs in June for Craig Lewis who is having a off meet this year. Spectacular Slew sold for 65K and looks like he is no Seattle Slew but does get Martin Garcia and is trained by Bob Baffert. Dr. Chen love the sire who is hitting at 26% of first time starters. The Dam has 4 starters and 4 winners and he is no a throw out in this race. I like the last workout June 15th five furlongs and 59.4 .... Warren's Concept looks live and I feel like he is the horse to beat... but as I said earlier not hanging my hat on this one yet. Warren's Wild Things is my longshot pick in this race..... yes I do understand you are laughing at this one... ok I can take it.... but looks at his first race at Del Mar... if he breaks cleanly and he might since he is on the outside and relaxes: He might be and I said might be better then what appears in the Daily Racing Form... lot of If's ... I know! He is returning to a sprint and Jack Van Berg who does not work them fast in the morning is a plus........ and the bug boy has the weight allowance off and yes, he too is a Maiden. I'm still undecided.
$20 Place on 13 Warren's Wild Thing
UPDATE $577 ROI Place $14.40
ROI $124+ $577= $701
