Summary of  Friday Night

Update: I miss my Pick four and Late Pick three but I won the second race betting $20 to place on Ashee paying $5.80 ROI $38. Race 6 I bet $20 to place on Full Effect returning $8.60 ROI $56.
I got lucky watching the last race and bet $20 win and place on Really Elegant returning $25.80 ROI $238 and $8.80 ROI $68.  My losing tickets total $35 a Pick Four and a Pick three.... Bank $2154- $35=$2119+$38+$56+$238+$68=$2519 (Bank $2519)

Race 1           One Mile Eight Turf Maiden Special Weight
Hog Hollows add blinkers and will hook up with Tweebster if the pace plays out like it looks like on paper. As we know the pace  does not always play out like this. Tweebster looks like the horse to fear.  Squad is stretching out from a Key Maiden Race in which two horses came out of this race and won there maidens. Squad is a major contender stretching out. Bravo Zulu a blue blood trained by Richard Mandella posted excellent long work outs which as you know I love. Please do not dismiss this live horse but a difficult distance for this three year old colt to win first time out! Grove Park by Rock Hard Ten is bred top to bottom for the turf. Baffert's usual fast work outs in the morning for this young colt. He was well bet in his debut on the cushion track and switches to the turf. I'm still sitting on the fence trying to visualizes the horses kicking down the final furlong to the wire. Jerry Fanning's horse will be overlooked by the betting public...... and should love the distance. Look out for Ducane.
                                 1. Tweebster  2. Ducane. 3.Bravo Zulu

Race 2           Seven Furlongs Claimer  (8K)
A group of plodders going seven furlongs and it looks like it is between One Vote and My Man Murf if you can excuse his last race and Chavez Ravine blinkers off. Beware!  Watching this one unfold!

Race 3           Six Furlongs Starter Allowance

                      1. Movie Duty 2. Saanneen

Race 4           Six Furlongs Maiden Special Weight
Apriority the experienced maiden is a player if the first time starters need a race under there belts.  Z.Z. Warrior looks like the live first time starter out of the hot rolling Baffert stable. His main man takes the call today! Beware this Carson City line which is bred for speed looks like the colt of his half-brother Hollywood Juvenile winner E Z Warrior. Fitz the Cat is no throw out in this somewhat difficult Maiden Special Weight Race.

                      1. Z.Z. Warrior

Race 5           One Mile Turf Claimer (25K)
Maybe the best betting race on the card today. This race is filled with speed type rabbits and might just set it up for a closer to take all the cards. Victorian Prince had to need her last race and finished with a respectable third at this level. Mr Katz is a tough Cat and after a long lay off finish with full of run. Look out!  The pace if there is a meltdown the one to feat is Sir Dave down the stretch. Grey Storm is a shipper from Golden Gate in top form and looks live.
                                  1. Sir Dave   2. Grey Storm 3. Mr. Katz
                       Pick three

                       7th 11,3     Cost of ticket $24
                       Back up this ticket with
                       5th all  without 1 7 and 9
                                  6th 1,4
                                  7th 11,3

Race 6           Triple Blend H.
M One Rifle is the speed of this race and will have a big say in the outcome of this race. The distance is ideal for M One Rifle seven furlongs. In the morning workouts looks like he is fit and ready to take on Gayego and others. E.Z. Gentlemen has tactical speed and will be one of the closers down the stretch. Gayego is the best horse in this field! Enough said but he concedes weight and is shipping in from New York couplied with the fact that he has not raced in three months. He runs fresh and is firing bullets in the morning and I think is simply the horse to beat. It will be fun watching this race and a good place to start a Pick three. New Bay gets the acid test today but I was impressed with his allowance race after breaking slow he won and was claimed by guess who Mike Mitchell. Sangaree is one tough horse and he does not have Rail Trip to contend with. The distance is ideal and this company seems to fit his running style.

                     1. Gayego  2. E.Z.Gentlemen  3.M 1 Rifle

Race 7           Six Furlong Turf Allowance

                     1. Mallinson Road  2.Amazombie 3.Unionize

                      Late Pick four
                      7th  11 and 3
                      8th  3,4,6
                      9th  4,5,6
                     10th    4

Race 8           Hollywood Gold Cup
Rail Trip might be a repeat winner with the likes of Lava Man as a repeat winner of the Hollywood Gold Cup. No value betting him in the win pools today but many singles on many Pick Six tickets. Compari in the Shoemaker mile threw in a semi dull uncharacteristic race after experiencing a terrible trip. He just might be better on the turf then on the cushion track. He will control the pace under mike Smith today. Tap It Light was very impressive winning the Tokyo City Cup and loves the cushion track. I expect he will be somewhat overlooked in the betting today. Awesome Gem I have always loved earning more then 2 million green backs. He might just be getting a little long in the tooth. He is the top three players in the Cup. Richard's Kid might need a race after a three month lay off but he might be the best horse in this field. Do not dismiss this horse because if he is fit and ready to fire has a awesome closing kick. Do you remember last year Pacific Classic in which The Kid beat Rail Man and won the Classic. The question I have is will he like the cushion track because he is not training in the morning at Hollywood but Santa Anita. He has posted some excellent workouts at SA.

                       1. Rail Trip  2. Richard's Kid 3. Awesome Gem

Race 9                Six Furlongs Turf Claimer (25K)
As my readers have read I have been picking Nevada Warrior to hit the board in his last two races and he has been a disappointment! This is his third race coming off a long lay off and I guess I will again blindly pick hit to run and close with more heart at this level. Sea of Pleasure drops and is a rabbit and will go as far as he can go. I imagine a paceless group with only Sea of Pleasure as the pure rabbit in this dash turf sprint. Beware! Cadillac is the pro and most likely the one to fear. His best races might and I say might be behind him...... Majestic Diamond along with Cadillac will close down the stretch. My pick includes Cadillac in my late Pick three.

                                  1. Sea of Pleasure  2. Majestic Diamond 3 NW

Race 10         Six Half Maiden (25K)
Willis will love the added half furlong today and drops another level to the bottom to get his picture taken in the winner circle.... maybe.... Jacob's Little Bro shortens up for this and has been last seen at Del Mar. The last two long workouts suggest that Mike  Puype has his horse fit and ready off the bench today. Beware!  Fionnaur has been gelded since his last race and Martin Pedroza will send him to the lead in a pace less race of bottom dwellers.  Rock n' Rule will close the final furlong. Goochio first race at 40K maidens was a much better then it looks like on paper. His last race he broke to the lead and was rated which turned out to be a wrong tactical move as he faded badly. His first race he ran into Detroit Donnie and Cat Brando. I expect a better dance today for Goochio. A horse with excellent works and a bullet at San Luis Rey Downs is  Lewdawg N Paradise. I can hear you laughing out loud but this is a low level maiden claimer. I'm still sitting on the fence.

                    1. Goochio
