SATURDAY BARRETTS DEBUTANTE

UPDATE............Prat out of ICU


Jockey Flavien Prat was transferred Saturday from the intensive care unit at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center into a lower-level room at the hospital from which he is expected to be released early next week.

Prat suffered five fractured vertebrae and a punctured lung in a spill Thursday at Los Alamitos. A chest tube that was inserted is scheduled to be removed Sunday, after which he will begin walking with a body brace according to his agent Derek Lawson.

Prat, 23, was the second-leading rider at the Del Mar summer meet and rapidly making a name for himself in stakes races prior to the spill. His recent stakes wins included Wild Dude in the Grade 1 Bing Crosby, and Jakaby Jade in the Del Mar Juvenile Fillies Turf.

Prat will wear the body brace for three months, after which he will begin rehabilitation that could keep him out of action until March.

Just Goggle Me......I picked her to upset in the Los Alamitos debut......I bet her to place as the public dismissed her at 32 to 1.........is the one to beat......she has the running style to stalk the speed then a excellent turn of foot closing on the rabbits. Stakes placed two times in her short racing career.....has faced Cal Breds..........

4. Sambamzajammin........great name for this filly.....ran with the filly Just Goggle Me and was smoked by her........good connections.....Looks better on the track.........looks mature for a filly........Her May win at Santa Anita was very fast......High speed figures.......took a step back when she ran at Del Mar......had semi bad trips........bad gate opening........I expect a turn around here with a good value play.

5. Scarlet Emerald........2 weeks ago she was hammered down as the favorite...........she is quick........speed is always deadly over this track.......beware.......interesting bomb here!


6. Runninforhoody.........ran at the fair.......finished second at Santa Rosa.......relish the distance and is a major contender.......looks scary because this race might unfold to her liking.


7. Miss Injustice......Is bred to a Blueblood sire...........Sire and Sister to stake winners........has a outside interesting long shot play.......Bombs Away.......


8. And In The End    ......Trainer is sneaky good..........debut she broke bad.......but one race does not make a career.........would be a shocker......but remember theses are 2 year old fillies that rarely run in form......head cases....
