THURSDAY SANTA ANITA PARK

                             SANTA ANITA PARK

Twirling Candy by D. Morant

Race 1

Jax El looks to be the speed of this race. West Ruler has not started for more then a year but if she is ready she is the one to fear!

1 West Ruler   2. Jax El   3. Taxi Ride

$20 Win and Place on West Ruler

     ROI $116.00

Race 2
I like the win early pedigree and I love the works he has fired in the morning time. A cagey trainer with long works so I will take a shot with this first time starter. I want to see how he looks on the track before betting!

          1. R.E. King   2. Gaelic Glory   3. Our Last Monte

Race 3

The start of the Pick Six with maybe the pool exceeding $750,000.
The speed of this looks to be Celtic New Year and Worth Repeating.  The horses that fit in this race are:  Achak with Worth Repeating and Celtic New Year. I have two horses that might just out-run the favorites. Romp beat both Where's The Remote and Worth Repeating three races back. In The Breeder's Cup Marathron Romp has a troubled trip. His last race he was ranked so he had a valid excuse running a dull bad race. He exits two Graded stakes races and has been freshen up for this long distance turf race. At 12 to 1 morning line he just might out-run his odds. Falcon Rock is another horse who might out-run his odds. He puts on blinkers today for Simon Callaghan. He has been a major disappointment because he is a classic hanger down the lane. If the blinkers make him more focus down the stretch then he is a contender here.  If you are playing the Pick Six you might want to use these two horses on your ticket.

   $20 place and show Romp (7)  ROI $8.00 + $116=$124.00

Race 4

Seond time starter Ranchero for Bob Baffert gets off the rail coupled with the fact that Bejarano re-rides makes him the horse to beat! Ranchero might be a single on your ticket.

     1. Ranchero   2. Britt's Brother  3. Off The Wall

Race 5

The pace looks to have Rule The Storm and Beautiful American sprinting out on the lead. Beautiful American might shake loose while shortening up to one mile. Unknown Heat took off the blinkers and won. She is facing winners for the first time but this is a fairly low level claimer on turf.  She faces no real monsters here.

1.Rule The Storm  2. Unknown Heat  3. Entabeni

P-4  -10

Race 6

Ohana Spirit trained by Jenda gets Gomez to ride this shipper from Golden Gate. He was unlucky not to have won his last race.

   1. Ohana Spirit  2. Edgewood Road  3.American Wildcat

Pick three

6th    2 thru 8
7th    2 and 4
8th    3 and 5

Race 7

The speed might just be Dahoud with Joel Rosario. The pace seems easy with Dahoud on the early lead! If no one goes with him he might be hard to catch in this low level allowance turf miler. I like Alley Hondro who is a gamer and with Talmo serving his days off Martin Garcia seems fit to ride. He has the speed figures to fit with this group. My top pick is the horse on the rail Hughesy.

    1. Hughesy   2.  Hollenmens  3. Alley Hondro

Race 8

The first time starter with the hot trainer and jockey combo is Semper Augustus who I expect will fire fast out of the gate for Kathy Walsh and look who is riding....... Joel Roasrio!

     1. Semper Augustus   2. Shelter Cove
