Race 1

It looks like the speed of this route race is Jerry Hollendorfer's gelding T.K. Fortysix who drops from open maiden special weight company into the claiming ranks for the first time. He adds blinkers and with Pedroza re-rides has a big shot to beat the favorite Seeking Solace. Do not overlook the Candy Ride gelding Megaride has the pedigree of a blue-blood line to outrun his double digit odds. He was well back by the bettors at this claiming level. Rockin Harbor stretches out to two turns after being the favorite in 4 out of 6 races...... still the best man and not the groom.He does have tactical speed. Money Included fits with his stalking style and speed numbers...... The maiden special weight droppers look like the horses to beat.

Race 2  The speed looks to be Ruby Lane. I expect David Flores to send him from the difficult outside post position. If he can slow the early factions down and relax he might be game down the lane. Ancient Holiday looked awesome beating up on a weak group of maidens but might be a good gamble. My concern is the lack of workouts in January....but the trainer has been hot and the jockey can flat out ride.......

Race 3

Cool race and fun race to watch and gamble. Gomez and Asmussen after a big speed number is the horse to beat.

Race 4  

A weak bunch of  Cal bred fillies and mares...... I expect Marty Jones filly Bila Shaka to improve with a route race under her belt. Team Builder has the pedigree coupled with the fact that she had to need her last race......she can improve. Givemeonereason might have finally found a group that she can beat............ she stretches out to two turns......lot's to like! but this weak group any horse might have a big day and win this weak race.  Hard to like a single horse but my pick is Givemeonereason!

Race 5
Postion A seems to like the surface of Del Mar and Hollywood over the natural surface....... dirt at Santa Anita. I like the horse Jack O' Lantern coming back since last summer at Del Mar....... I expect  he did not take kindly to the surface at the beach........so I expect at this level and a switch in surfaces that he will fire a big race today. Positve Force a seven year old with only 11 races and many lay offs might bounce after a big race in January. Bullfighter looks like the horse to fear!

Race 6

Tapizar is the controlling speed with both pure talent coupled with the awesome win in the Grade 3 Sham...... I expect Comma To The Top to go north........ if this is the case then Tapizar will tell his rivals " Come Catch Me". If Tapizar falters then I think Wegner who is maturing day by day........ He is a big colt so please do not take the Bob Baffert colt lightly ............as I expect a big performance from him Today! He should relish the added distance...... beware!!!

 My Summer Slew hits hard in this race but I love Leroy's Dynameaux in this race.......
