SUNDAY SANTA ANITA PARK

CARACORTADO BY D. MORANT

RUNFLATOUT BY DAVID MORANT

Race 1    Six Furlongs Claimer 62K

I like the way Bob Baffert's filly won with Gladiatrix. Bejarano and Baffert hook up again and have been red hot at this meet. Do not take lightly the filly shipping down from up north Brown is Beige trained by Jeff Blonde. Bella Palooza has the speed figures and tactical speed to be a major contender.

Race 2    One Mile Sixteenth Claimer 25K

The pace scenario might have David Flores gelding Morganouska wiring this group the same way he wired his maiden race. Beware because the race is void of any early speed up front. I expect the Fanning horse Booyah with Joel Rosario climbing aboard to be deadly at this level. I cannot remember the last time I saw Rosario ride for Fanning.

    1. Morganouska  2. Booyah  3. No Dream

Race 3    Six Furlongs Maiden 40K

Cha Da Boom looks to be the speed with horses who have run......She might not give it up so early in this wide open affair. The vindication filly who is a first time starter looks like a runner If You Do I Sue....... as for the first time starter Joel Rosario climbs aboard Magic Mama...... Woodman's Lass might have found a field she can close on at the wire. She too can win this!

Race 4    Six Half Turf Claimer 50K

A ton of early speed running down the hill Today! I like the  closer with Gomez in the irons.......Hameildaeme!

Folk Dancer is the speed of the speed.......She looks ready after a short combacker with P-Val who fits her like a grove as the old adage goes....

   1.Hameildaeme  2. Folk Dancer

Race 5    Five Half Furlongs Claimer 10K

I like Toro Trippi dropping to this low level. The upsetter is Tribal Face coming back from this summer to meet this field. He has solid drills for his first race in 2011....... do not take this dude lightly for Knapp who has been heating up at this meet. Warren's Dove the likely favorite is cutting back from a route to a short sprint. he will dual it out with Toro Trippi on the front end....and Tribal Face might close on this field at double digit odds!

Race 6    One Mile Turf Claimer 50K

Any time Vienna sends out a horse across the pond you have to look give it a big look .......because over the years he has won with this trick. Chin'n Tonic looks like a closer to me and there is speed in this race. Papable a maiden fits with this group and any thing that Gaines and Rosario team up I give a long look to. He is well bred and the blinkers come off. Miles Long Gone might just be a favorite in this race and looms large with tactical speed and Bejarano riding.

Race 7    Santa Monica Grade 1 Seven Furlongs

Joe Rosario has ridden 4 of these fillies in this race and he lands on Switch! Switch was a half length behind Zenyatta in the Lady Secret. She is the filly to beat in this race. But wait, Bob Baffert sends out two fillies that will test Switch in this Grade 1 race......... Mother Ruth who is getting better and better each and every race. Gilded Gem gets Bejarano to ride and she can win if she comes to the table with her A game. The longshot is Quisissana who looked short last time out. She can win!

Race 8    Six Half Furlongs Turf Wishing Well

In the Wishing Well on turf....down the hill .....Gavine the French import makes her debut......... with Joel Rosario and a touch of back class......Southern Fireball removes the blinkers and goes from route to sprint and should be right off the pace to close at the wire! The class of the field is Reba Is Tops who won last time out in a claiming race. She needs to step it up Today with this group.

Race 9     Six Half Maiden Special

I like Beautiful Sunday in this spot!
