FRIDAY SANTA ANITA

                 SANTA ANITA PARK

I play a small Pick Six ticket yesterday and lady luck was on my side...... I single 5 straight winners and the last leg I had Intentional and Banana Cream Pie and my longshot Three on my ticket......... Banana Cream Pie won.....

Race 1      One Mile Maiden Special

Let see how Recap runs...... His Dad Storm Cat and his Mother is Tranquility Lake and is a full brother to After Market. Recap was hammered down in his first start a year and a half ago by the public. Now as a 4 year old the blinkers go on. Shirreffs trains this colt who has blue blood pedigree. One Nation is stretching out Today....... looms large as a contender..... I guess the million dollar yearling Temp has been a major disappointment to the owners and stable......He runs like he will relish the added distance today!

    1. Temp  2. Recap 3. One Nation

Race 2      Six Half Maiden 30K

A weak race where the whole field looks suspect to me! Might take the first time starter Warren's Hawk because the rest looks suspect....... maybe Fine And Rare who has a semi solid morning gate drill by Broad Bush out of the mare Tiznow will run. Beware blinkers go on Tribal Wish with one of the best gate jockeys around this circuit.

Race 3      One Mile Sixteenth Claimer 16K
Beware of Seven Seas stepping up after wiring a field of 8 K dollars claimers. He has back class for Jack Carava and the pace looks slow on the front end for Martin Pedroza. His main rival and a horse I have followed is Swift Winds who tries the main track with Blanc in the irons.... At this level he is a scary contender.

Race 4      Six Furlongs Maiden Special

A tough group of  maidens sprinting .......David Flores if sends Nefarious to the lead to settle early then she might be tough to collar down at the wire. I like both first time starter the Rock Hard Ten filly trained by John Shirreffs with Mike Smith in the irons looks like a runner to me. Roxanne O looms scary as her Jan 12th morning drills indicate readiness and fitness for a big performance. The Candy Ride filly Lady Sweetness trained by Mike Mitchell who ususally has them cranked up for a big performance first time out.

Race 5      Five Half Claimer 12K

I like Dinnr With Nikki C who adds blinkers for the first time. Her last race was bad but has a valid excused after being bumped and squeezed at the start of the race. If she can run back to her form last year she might just surprise and light up the tote board. R.C. Storm might be a speedy horse at this distance trying to beat the favorite Our Bellini Belle with Martin Pedroza........ Martin has some live horses on Fridays Card!

Race 6      Six Half Turf Claimer 50K

Martin Pedroza has Quitely Mine sprinting down the turf hill ...... looks live but must get clear from the rail to put his closing kick at the wire. Get Funky has been freshened up and this dude is one scary customer if he brings his A game to this race. Sassou with P-Val with try to wire this field making for the hat trick....... He has won two straight.... and can win this as well!

Race 7      One Mile Sixteenth Optional

Madeline Ruby claimed by Ted West should love the added distance. She is light on the win end but I expect her to run a big race Today!  Summer Games adds blinkers and should get the ground saving trip ........ She has run with Blind Luck, Evening Jewel and Summer Games........ She should be on the lead at the quarter and half mile pole..... Lea The Punisher is the one to fear after her race with Jet Blue Girl and Tiz Bud Girl........

    1. LeaThePunisher 2. Summer Games 3.Madeline Ruby

Race 8      One Mile Claimer 20K

The pace scenario looks to have Good Friday Gal trying to wire this group of veteran maidens. The scary dropper is the 5 year old Aprisa Luna trained by Ron Ellis with Joel Rosario re-riding might run a big race. Suitable Attire looks spotted for action..... Should we give up on Long Legged Lovely....... Bejarano stills re-rides this Marty Jones maiden.
