SUNDAY AT OAK TREE HOLLYWOOD PARK

SMILING TIGER TAKEN BY DAVID MORANT

Yesterday I place $20 on Pink Diamond to place and returned $20.00. I hit the late Pick three for $117.00 minus the cost of Ticket $85.00. Minus $44.00 I miss in a pick three and the late pick 4.......... ROI $41.00. The final race I really like Kumiva to hit the boards at 28 to 1....... in fact I had the first 2 horses in my late pick three which I singled both of them. Kumiva was game and returned $148.00.   Friday Night Bank was $751.30 minus $30 for the night. $721.30.......... + $41.00 a add in the return of $148=$189+$721.30 is $910.30 which is the starting bank for Sunday! A grinding blue plate special to make a profit at the track. Good Luck Readers and Have a Great Day At The Track.

Race 1            One Mile Sixteenth Maiden Special

Star Presence trained by Bob Baffert adds the blinkers. She stretches to another furlongs today. A Storm Cat filly out of AP Indy is making her third start of her career. She looks fit and ready but my concern is her last two workouts for the trainer who usually has them blazing in the morning time Her last two works were modest! Ricketyracektyuss was claimed by John Sadler and she stretches out for a route. This second start for her she should love the distance out of a sire by Borrego. Tab for major improvement! Big Tiz exits the same race as Star Presence and has put together 2 excellent blazing work out.......... A Player ! Weekend Party ran a race like she was in a public outing. Today she will be more focus with a race under her belt.

Race 2            Six Furlongs Maiden 50K

This race lacks speed on the front end with maybe Dancing In The Dark the horse on the front end. He was claimed by John Sadler for 40K dollars. He exits a key maiden race his first race in which two horses came back and won. Miles Long Gone trained by Jerry Hollendorfer is dropping from maiden special weight to face this field. He has scored many times in the past dropping maiden special weight horses the second time around. Tak Gamo adds blinkers and watch out for this deadly trainer and jockey combo....... they have hit with this move second time around too! Secret Agreement ran two great looking state bred maiden special weight races then just tailed off.......... if he runs back to the first and second race of his short career he has a shot to light up the tote board at 30 to 1 morning line........... this race looks suspect to me........ beware!

Race 3            Six Half 2 Year Old Allowance
A great betting race in this 2 year old allowance race. This race has four fillies and three colts/geldings....... and is a wide open affair! Da Boomer won gamely and might be the speed of this race. A Player! Gap Power a 2 time winner has tactical speed and just might make the lead on the front end as well.  He has faced better company then these. Pleasing Sunrise looked great winning at Del Mar from off the pace. She will be closing on Gap Power down the stretch. I Like the filly Sugarinthemorning who won first time out then entered the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante and ran a respectable fast race.

Race 4            Six Furlongs State Bred Maiden Special

Mega Heat pressed a fast pace his first race against Inverness Cape who is a talented horse. Crispy Corey had to need his last race. He has tab a excellent three work out drill in the morning. I expect him to improve with Corey re-riding him. A contender! Circa'sgoldenhear  is coming off a lay off since February. He has run races and makes him the one to fear at a hint of a price. I like his work out tab and has the look of a horse cranked up to run a smasher!

Race 5            Six Furlongs Turf Claimer 40K

Jaws And Paws gets weight off today and loves the Hollywood turf which she is one for one. Beware! Tamerin trained by Mike Mitchell looked like she need a race to get fit after coming back from a seven month lay off. She back on the turf which she is best on. A Clever Ten trained by Jerry Hoffendorfer returns to the claiming ranks today.

Race 6            Six Half 3 Year Old Claimer 12K

Another sprint with low level claimer for 3 year old horses. Good Brother looked great winning at Fairplex Park for 10k claimer. With this field he should have no problem with the class hike today. Fire In The Wind runs a good race then regress's then runs a good race again. Look he has beat older horses this summer which makes him a instant contender with this restricted age group. The Bug gets on Longonaguska gets a ran at Good Brother again. This time weight is off and he has a better post position....... spotted for action.

Race 7            One Mile Turf Swing Time
A small field in this non graded one mile turf race. Berg Berg has faced better including  finishing second in a turf stakes race this July. The speed scenario looks like Briefcat will try to steal this race on the front end. Berg Berg  will reel in the speed at the top of the lane. Ruffled Feathers will pick up the pieces and she can get closer to the lead at the top of the stretch she can win this. Value Stream has back class and if fit she fits as a interesting long shot play! Oui Say Oui has back class. She has gas and almost beat Timezone her last race. You might make a good case for every filly and mare in this race to win...... Burg Berg looks dangerous in reeling in the speed because of the class of horses she has faced! Her race to win or lose.

             1. Burg Berg

Late Pick Three          5  with 2,4,6,8  with 1,2,5,7,11

Hit returned $170.70 minus the cost
of the ticket  $20 equals $150.70

Race 8            Six Half 3 Year Old Claimer 50K

I loved how Ron Ellis horse Pinal a stablemate of Golden Itiz won at the bullring in the Pomona Derby. He has speed and meets a field with little pace on the front end. The rabbit of this race might just be Streakin Mohican who set a fast pace his last race against older horses. He is the one to catch.  Beware of the come backer Color Of Courage who looks to me to be spotted for action. Maybe Yes is taking off the blinkers today on the rail. I pick this horse to close on the field at a starter allowance race at this track. He won! Martin Garcia won with this horse and Fanning tries to mix it up taking the blinkers off. I like Pinal to win but do not take this horse lightly..... Maybe Yes if maybe the speed melts down with the added half furlong with 2 rabbits in the race. The good news is that Maybe Yes has fast factions to run at. He might be this good to win.......... at double digits odds .........25 to 1........ He needs a major turn around because my both top picks handle this horse in his last 2 races. Maybe taking off the blinkers will be the major turn around. A long shot but............trying to beat the two top picks. Mr Tokyo has a shot to win this. I picked him to hit the board at double digit odds and he ran a excellent race with Thomas Bains who then came back a won again......... A Contender and Major Player!

       1. Pinal   2. Streakin Mohican  3. Mr. Tokyo

        Long Shot   Maybe Yes

Race 9            One Mile Sixteenth Turf Maiden Special

This just might be the hardest race to find the winner....... many contenders and few pretenders exits the final Sunday Afternoon race of the day.
A Key Maiden race is Tizalwaysomething when she finished third in her first race. Three horses came out of that race and won. Alex Barba trains and with a race under her belt looks like on paper the logical contender to win. This makes Lily's Perfect who finished fourth in that race a player as well.  She should improve and that key maiden race makes her a contender to win this. The Europe Import Dubawi Heights was hammered down at the windows when she made his first debut. She had traffic problems during that race and never did get open to make her closing kick. I expect with some racing luck today she will show what she has down the stretch. Zohrah looks like the speed of the race and might just get brave on the front end. Catch Me If You Can is her theme. she can win if she slows down the early factions so the closers have a slow pace to run at.  Zippin E trained by Mike Mitchell is making his second start... I love the switch from dirt to turf. Zippin E is bred for turf! A horse that has excellent pedigree on turf is Mutually Benefit a first time starter at this difficult distance. Owned by Glen Hill Farms and trained by Thomas Proctor has blue blood quality....... do not dismiss this filly....... just might not need a race under her belt to shine....... Beware! Please do not give up on Irish Torrent just yet. She had a troubled trip her last race and finish full of run..... a contender and she needs some racing luck to reel in the rabbits...
