Sunday at Oak Tree Hollywood Park

Bank update after the races today....... hit the late 50 cent pick four yesterday starting with the Superstar Zenyatta then the Import from Europe then Richard's Kid then I single P-Val's horse on the turf.!



Race 1         One Mile Sixteenth Claimer 12K
The pace scenario just might unfold with Yacht Spotter the speed of the race on the lead at the quarter and half mile pole. If no one goes with him he just might be long gone. Joe Carl will be sitting off the pace and be the first one to close. Fiery Trippi looks off form but he has run races that makes him fit. The class of the race is Racketeer on the rail....... you can make a case for each and every one of these horses to win........... if Yacht Spotter does not wire this field then the race is wide open.

Race 2         Six Furlongs Maiden 25K

The speed of this bottom dweller maiden race is Pat Olcott who will take them as far as she can go. Nana Beach exits a highly rated if I can say that maiden 25K race. Two winners have come out of that race and won. She looms the one to fear after having a troubled trip last time out. Princess Beau K gets off the rail and returns to a track that she likes....... a contender! D'Elegance drops from maiden special weight to the rock-bottom....... If she is going to win this race is the one......... but I'm not really sold on her. The first time starter on the rail is the filly I like ...... Subtle Greek trained by Thomas Bell and Blanc who can flat out ride takes the call! I love her workouts in the morning and she just might go off at double digit odds today...... I like her to win if she looks good during warm up........ check her out before the race.

Race 3         Six Half Furlongs Rowan Stakes

Mother Ruth is the one to catch in this stakes race at six and half furlongs. In fact, I like both of Bob Baffert horses to win..... Fund Raiser just won at Del Mar and can sit right behind Mother Ruth ....... if Mother Ruth gives it up in the stretch....... this might not be the case ..... Silver Swallow will be flying at the wire late.

Race 4         Six Furlongs Claimer 32K

I like Star Nicholas to win this race....... but I fear Unsurp down the stretch.

Race 5         One Mile Sixteenth Allowance Turf


Initial Impression won a turf race on this turf course during the Hollywood meet. She looks to be in good form and fit to rock and roll here. A Major Player! Blue Maiden was hammered down by the public her United States debut............Her form in England makes her a scary player....... I like Nan who has raced with some of the best fillies and mare in the county. If she can improve slightly she can win this race from a ground saving rail trip at the wire. Charlie's Princess is coming off a lay off. She has major gas and if she is fit and ready to run she too is a contender in a great betting race today. A fun turf race...... with many pace scenario's that might unfold!

Race 6         Six Furlongs Maiden Special Weight
A wide open sprint for 2 year old fillies starts the late 50 cent Pick Four. With a race under her belt Caipirinha looms large as showing speed then was taken back and then rallied along the rail....... a respectable race that I watched on video at Cal racing! She has the edge over the other runners except the first time starters.  This field looks tougher then  her first race at Golden Gate...... but she will be well backed because of her first race and the trainer/jockey combo who are deadly! Mayakoba Mesa with a fourth place first race might show major improvement........... A Player! As to the first time starters...... Turbulent Descent looks live to me as a filly with excellent pedigree and good works....... Terodoa is a lime house filly who are bred to win early and bred for speed............ she looks live!
 Plum Pretty trained by Bob Baffert with his main man up in the irons has been firing speed in the morning time preparing for her first race........ A Player as well!




Race 7         One Mile Sixteenth Oak Leaf

Tell A Kelly was awesome in the Del Mar Debutante smashing the field by 5 lengths........ She is trained by John Sadler and is a daughter of Tapit. She is stretching out in distance today but I see no problem with the added distance. Alienation might just be heading for home at the top of the stretch today. Alienation race was awesome and impressive eye opening race on this turf course. She then traveled East to face the fillies at Saratoga in the Grade 2 race Adirondak and the Grade 1 Spinaway. A great match up today with both of these future stars.......




Race 8         One Mile Fourth Turf  Hirsch Stakes

Champ Pegasus is looking for four straight wins........ The speed of the race might be Marlang. Champ Pegasus is a son of Fusauchi Pegasus lightly raced with talents yet found! He is fit and ready to rumble today with Bourbon Bay who won four straight during the winter meet at Santa  Anita......... this is his first start since April but is scary if he is fit and cranked up...... Marlang will take them as far as he can go........ and can win this if he is allowed to settle down easy on the front end........Where's The Remote gets the test on class but he gets better and better each and every race he runs........... might upset this whole field today!
       



Race 9         Six Furlongs Maiden Special Weight

California Nectar is the horse to beat.......... and it seems that after two races under the belt gets beat at the wire........ today might be the day to get the diploma.......... Zenidekka can upset this race and might just fly by the Nectar at the wire!  Check out the works on Golden Jet looks like a live runner to me!
