Race 1          Six Furlongs Maiden Special Weight

The pace scenario with the know runners is Mr. Sierra. A two year old colt by Deputy Minister is trained by Jeff Blonde. The King of Northern California is down here in Hollywood to ride today's races Russell Baze. His last race was not a particular great field of runners at Fairplex. Having said that he is a contender that fits with improving speed figures. Spot Of Salt trained by Jack Carava by Salt Lake who wins early and is bred for speed. He had a troubled trip his first race and being bumped at the start. With a clean break he should show major improvement with Bejarano calling the shots. Cold Bay raced evenly in his debut. With a race under his belt makes him a player. Love Five Plus Two might get overlooked at the betting windows today. He faced maidens at the 32K dollar level. Walter Solis is the magic man with two year old babies. You might be able to make a case that this horse was placed to low a level. He has speed and any major improvement with P-Val in the irons puts this gelding in the winner's circle. As for first time starters Titian looks live for Mike Machowsky. He gets them fit and ready to rock and roll first time out.

Race 2          Six Half Furlongs Claimer 20K

Tall Texan exits a highly regarded claiming race at Del Mar. Three horse came out of that race and won. Beware if does not regress which his six workouts looks like he is fit and ready to beat this field. Afleet Deal is the speed of this race as tells all comers to Catch Me if You Can. Party Mandate can get a jump on Afleet Deal because he can be sent to the lead or sit right of the lead and press the pace. Victor's Call!  The Point Given gelding Tall Texan needs to hustle down the backstretch close to the pace and then fly by the pace setters and win....... not out of the realm.......... lot's to like!
Adriatic Moon double jumps in class....... do not take him lightly... this 4 year old gelding has 4 wins and looks fit and ready to perform. Lit'sgoodlookngrey ran against tougher his last race. He has back class. Tab the major switch in jockeys and I expect if he stops hanging like a cheap suit and dig in down the stretch he fits with class and figures to be a major player. This affair is wide open but I like Tall Texan to win!

On past performance Go On Babe by Stormy Atlantic is the choice to win. She deadheated her first race with Lava Girl then showed major improvement her second career race when she was second to Saint Isabelle. She sports a fast bullet of the day in the morning. Jet Blue Girl in her last race was third behind Go Babe Go but was only a half length back at the wire! She is fit and on the improve and I can seen her beating Go Babe Go. Lava Girl is a mid range sprinter and if the speed melts down she can fly by the leaders and win this at this ideal distance of six and half furlongs. Missdealornodeal broke her maiden on the cushion track. She has always been well back by the public. She's in form and fit........ please do not take this filly lightly she can upset this field with some racing luck!

Dixie Cross ran a excellent race in his debut. He has speed to make the lead or press a fast pace. The major drawback is the inside post position but talented horses still run there race. A Major Player to win at very short odds. Doughboy has taken some time off to get his head straight. He will be overlooked by the public because of the first race and big speed numbers by Dixie Cross. Doughboy has speed and has faced some quality runners like River's Chapel, Smash, and his last race Mckinzel's Way.......... looks if Dixie Cross regresses or has trouble from the rail then do not overlook this quality gelding to win. As for any monsters as to first time starters Basic Strategy debuts with good works and a great pedigree Broken Vow. Marker Down by Fusaichi Pegasus looks and acts like a runner...

Race 5          Six Furlongs Turf Allowance

A salty cast of character enters this sprint on the turf. Blue Jay Attack missed in a highly rated turf race at Del Mar. The horse I pick that day is in this race....... Square Deal who Connagher beat. Square Deal is the speed of this sprint and gave Connagher all the trouble on the front end that day. The main question is improvement in this open company. Blue Jay Attack and Square Deal look to be head to head at the quarter and half mile pole. If the speed melts down then Killer Bear will be closing. The distance looks like it is too short for him to make a run at it at the wire......... but... He is a player! A interesting long shot who has a kicker closing kick is Warrens Summergold. If this lightly race gelding is fit and ready he will be flying down the lane at the wire....... it might just be too late but he is a major player to upset this field.

Race 6          One Mile Sixteenth Norfork Stakes

The Top California based juvenile is JP's Gusto by Successful Appeal. He is trained by David Hoffman has strung together 4 straight wins which included he last smasher by 5 lengths in the Del Mar Futurity. He won over the cushion track and this Kentucky bred to ready to rock and roll. P-Val is in the irons! A top contender to battle it out with JP is Jaycito by Victory Gallop who is trained by Mike Mitchell. Jaycito was the runner up in the Del Mar Futurity and this colt is bred to go long. Tab the positive jockey switch to Mike Smith who rides Zenyatta later. A interesting Import is Boxeur Des Rules by Smart Strike trained by Doug O'Neil. He looks like a runner with Rafael Bejarano up. Acafella by Mr. Greenly won a stake race at Golden Gate. He has two nice drills in the morning making his third career start! Richard Mandella trains and Acafella has a killer turn of foot. He just might surprise the field today. Mr. Lucky K by Benchmark who is a excellent sire..... and you must respect. He was hammered by the public in his maiden race. He should be close to the pace and might outrun his odds. Riveting Reason a maiden with talent is always deadly for a major improve. Victor E. takes the call.

Race 7          One Mile Sixteenth Lady's Secret G1

The Superstar Zenyatta goes for her 19th straight undefeated  victory against five rivals. Hollywood is her home base. Zenyatta should find no trouble in adding this win to her resume....... Rinterval ran Zenyatta to a neck victory at Del Mar.......I see no reason for a turn-a-round today!  Switch loves Hollywood. This will be her first start outside of her age group. She has the talent to be a runner -up with Zenyatta. Alonso Quinonez picks up the mount by John Sadler. Moon De French has won graded stakes and winner of half her races. She wired the field at a distance of a mile in the Adoration Stakes by one and a half lengths. Satans Quick Chick loves the poly surface at Keeneland. She has been training excellent for her dance with the Big Star today.

Race 8          One Mile Fourth Turf Yellow Ribbon

A field of Nine distaffer will go 10 furlongs in Today's $250,000 Yellow Ribbons Stakes............ This years field is not as strong as years past!

Hibaayeb has faced the best in Europe this year........I like to see this one run..... Rafael Bejarano rides and is a major player to win. Liilly Fa Pootz ran a game second in the John C. Mabee Grade 2 before getting third in the Palomar at Del Mar. She has never been off the board in all of her 10 lifetime starts. Turning Top is the horse for the course at Hollywood and is perfect from three starts. She has tactical speed coupled with the fact she I expect her to be in the thick of the race all 10 furlongs. A Major Player! Gypsy's Warning looks like a pro and this shipper  has faced better then what this company looks like today. A Major Contender...... do not take her lightly on the win end. If the import needs a race over the Hollywood turf course. Go Forth North almost won the Palomar in her last race. She gets the Kool Aid Acid Test on class but I expect with this field she just might outrun her odds.

Race 9          One Mile Eighth Goodwood Stakes Grade 1

A well-matched salty cast of Seven enters the Goodwood Grade 1 Stakes. Crown of Thorns gets a slight edge over Twirling Candy but I can see Twirling Candy blowing away this field as well.  The winner of the Pacific Classic has the class and closing kick to win this race....... all three top contenders can win........ but only one will.
