No bets last night the Saturday Bank is $1,532.00
Race 1 Six Furlongs Allowance
Mensa Heat ran into a buzz saw as Square Deal is the real deal. He was a runner up that the same condition as today. The Unusual Heat gelding has faced better then this field. Cafe Con Leche is the rabbit in this race. He looked good winning at the bullring. He is good enough to win this race. Buyer's Remorse has been off since May but he runs good fresh. He has gas to be on the lead or he has the style to sit back and wait then reel in the speed. It is his choice! I'm not sure if he is a sprinter but if he is fit he might rock and roll to a win. A shipper lures JR and he has high speed numbers to fit. King Red looks live.
Race 2 One Mile Sixteenth Claimer 16K
Gentle Romeo is stretching out to two turns and is taking a class drop to get a win. He is trained by Jeff Mullins and is the speed of the race. He beat Sea Rascal who won last night. The pace might unfold with Kanan Dume contesting the front end with Gentle Romeo. If this is the pace scenario then Joe Carl has the best chance to reel in both top picks and win the race. But having said this I expect Gentle Romero to kick free and might just be tough to reel in at this level. Joe Carl loves this course and is a tough customer down the lane. He just wins races and has been hot at the claim box. A major contender to win. Please do not throw out Rummysecret War who has been facing better company. He gets back to a course that he won at and switches surfaces. He is no turf horse and runs better on the cushion track. At this level of class he is scary with tactical speed to win this wide open affair!
Pick three Minus $12.00
Race 3 Six Furlongs Maiden Special Weight
A fun race to watch with talented blue-bloods in the field. On paper Chapman's Peak has the one of the highest speed numbers in this race along with Private Bounty. He is pure speed and with two races under his belt looks long gone. Come beat him if you can is this tune. Private Bounty beat Chapman's Peak his last start. Ron Ellis trains this Storm Cat gelding. If he improves slightly this Ron Ellis horse can win. Cragmont trained by Bruce Headley has racing experience and might be a better closer in this race then what it appears to be on paper. If money can buy you a win then first time starter Alcindor will win. A half brother to stakes winning speedster Half Ours debuts for Bob Baffert. He has put some fast drills into him for his first start today. He looks very live and scary........ this Unbridled colt can win this!
$20 Show 1 Plus $18.00 minus $12.00 ROI $6.00
Race 4 Seven Half Claimer 20K
I pick Summers At Del Mar to win his last race at a slightly higher class level sprinting. He stretches out but has the perfect running style from off the pace to win this. He looks to be closer to the pace this time and then wait fly by the speed at the wire and win this. This is the picture before the race unfolds...... does not always happens like this.......Southern Victory is the only pure sprinter in the race. He is trained by Michael Pender and Bejarano takes the call. He adds blinkers today which might make him dangerous on the lead. I think he can win at good odds because the money will be on Summers At Del Mar and Plantsite. Plantsite shortens up today after being reclaimed by Jeff Mullins. He will try to reel in Southern Victory at the wire. Another interesting closer is Neobedimity from Golden Gate. He looks to be in good form and JR takes the call!
Race 5 One Mile Sixteenth Maiden 32K
Looks like another race with little speed to deal with on the front end routing for maidens. This is a very weak field of maidens here so nothing will shock me in this race. Big Son Of A Gun ran into a buzz saw when winner Meshuguna flew by him to win. He will be nearer to the pace with David Flores on his back. Thereastormcoming looks like he will love the added distance for a cagey trainer Paul Aquirre. He gets Valdez to re-ride and this cat can ride with the best. A Player! Alert Rocket is the unknown dropper against much better company. Trainer Paddy Gallagher has done this trick in the past drop a horse from maiden special weight who has not run a lick and shows up at the claiming ranks and wins! He gets P-Val to ride and takes a major move in putting on the blinkers for the first time. Renewing race was not very good to say the very least......... Tab the switch in jockeys might indicate that this horse has some run in him. Tak Gamo drops........tab for improvement....... The horse that I think might win this is Doc Can Dance who broke slowly then finished full of run. Regroup by Dan Hendricks is my pick here
Pick Three 1,3,6 with 4, with 1,6,7 $9.00
$20 Across the board Regroup
Race 6 Seven Half Claimer 25K
The Cherokee Run gelding once was climbing up the class ladder looks like the horse to beat on paper! He will be the speedster trying to go gate to wire. He meets a field with today with little speed in the race. Scored will try to reel him in at the stretch. I think both of these horses are somewhat suspect. No mortal lock with these top picks. Camicory who drops in class and has tactical speed to be right off the lead going for home. He like this distance and Martin Garcia takes the mount. John Eli gets P-Val and if there was a trainer who can get a horse turned around quick is Ron McAnnaly. He looks off form but he was a impressive winner at Santa Anita this winter. He has been freshened up for this.... a player if fit and ready!
Pick Four 50 cents 1,4,5,6 with 1,6,7 with 2,5,6 with 4
Cost of Ticket $18.00
$20 Place John Eli
Race 7 Six Furlongs Claimer 50K
Halloween Candy just wins races! She is dropping in class which gas in the tank looms large on the win end today. She telling her rivals Come Catch her if you can. The Mark Glatt entry The Great Atlantic and Come Home Quick will try to reel in Halloween Candy. Cruzin Topless shortens up for this and is a better sprinter then route racer. Akeeta is the horse that I like...... she is stepping up in class and will be overlooked by the betting public.
Pick Three Halloween Candy with ALL with 4,5 minus $17
Race 8 Six Furlongs Jack Goodman Stakes
Clubhouse Ride looked awesome at Fairplex....... He blew away the field in sweeping around the far turn to make a eye opening awesome turn of foot! If he repeats this...... Clubhouse Ride will win the Goodman Stakes today! The drawback is that this race is not loaded with front end rabbits..... and therefore the pace will be slow to run at. Road Ready needs to improve over his race with Clubhouse Ride but looks live here! McKenzies Way is training great....... check out his work out tab! Beware with this dude. It is hard to tell how good Awesome Patriot is....... but he is a blue blood that cost a ton of jack. He won at first asking and he did it looking good. He was game. Winning Desire a Florida bred won a highly regarded race first time out........ a major player here! This race is a good betting race with horses on the improve......... we all know what Clubhouse can do but for the others they can be tough in this spot!
Race 9 Six Furlongs Turf Maiden Special
I like the first time starter Born Flirt trained by John Sadler who's record with first time starters at Hollywood is red hot! She gets the leading rider with a excellent work out tab......! The horse that has the edge in racing experience is Orangeblackandgold a New York shipper. She has great pedigree this Hard Rock Ten filly. She can win this with her fourth start today. Rachel Jones has been facing some tough customers in maiden special weight division like Tell A Kelly and Wickedly Perfect. She switches to grass today after running on the poly track. A interesting live filly is Blondies Bling after being only two lengths behind the filly Rigoletta a stakes winner. She gets a upgrade from Joy to P-Val and all systems look like a go with her today. Town Belle has a series of fast long work outs with I always like to see in a first time starter. Great Pedigree with excellent morning works so Beware! David Flores rides for Neil Drysdale. This filly looks like a runner therefore she might upset this field. If the first timers need a race or two then Orangeblackandgold has the edge over this field. But this is a wide open affair sprinting on grass which ends Saturday's card.
