FRIDAY NIGHT AT OAK TREE HOLLYWOOD PARK

Thursday Night Bank was $1,352.00 minus a early pick three that ran out that cost $18.00. I bet $20 across the board on the last race last night on Kim's Leading Man and returned  a ROI of $198.00 minus the pick three bet $180.00. $1,352+$180.00 =$1,532.00.
Friday Night Bank is $1,532.00.

Race 1           Seven Half Furlongs Maiden 40K

The pace scenario looks like Lone Justice on a uncontested lead at the quarter and half mile pole. Lone Justice drops in class and Mike Smith jumps off of Armenian Star to rejoin him after running a respectable second two races back. He switches surfaces and shortens up for the money run at this level. At this distance he just might be tough to reel in at the wire. Absolutlypostivly takes off the blinkers tonight retains his regular rider Brice Blanc goes for number 16..... has the speed numbers and back class to reel in Lone Star....... In fact he can win this race and finally get his diploma. Armenian Star is a sprinter and gets back to the sprint game where he might be the up setter at the windows..... Martin Garcia gets the rail and should save ground and wait then jump on the leaders at the top of the stretch. He drops in for a tag the first time. His race two back makes him a win contender here. Noble Cavalier might step forward and outrun his odds.

Race 2            Six Furlongs Allowance

There is not a horse in this short five horse field that cannot win this allowance sprint!  Irrefutable trained by Bob Baffert by Unbridled was well bet first time out. He beat a highly regarded field coupled with the fact he posted a 91 Beyer number. He has not been seen since Christmas. I had him on my horse to watch list. I saw the race he won and he closed fast at the wire! He is firing bullets for his come backer. He runs fresh and I expect coming for home he will be in front of this field..... a question of fitness! The most likely horse to reel in the top choice is Scofield Barracks. He is in top form but has no real speed and he does his best runner at the wire! A contender to win this! Sea Rascal is a tough claimer who's recent form looks fit and ready........ is he good enough to win....... yes! No Grande likes to win and has speed to keep the field honest on the front end....... He is coming back since April and his works are very modest to say the very least! Moonlark is a talented colt  and has serious gas on the front end....... a contender at 7 to 2 morning line!

   1. Irrefutable  2. Scofield Barracks  3. Sea Rascal

Race 3            Six Half Maiden 32K

Dime trained by Kathy Walsh ran into a buzz saw his last race finishing behind Gnarly Dude. He had a somewhat trouble trip last out when he was blocked then steadied on the backstretch. He has been freshen up for this and is working without a break in his weekly workout. He will be well bet and is a contender to win but no mortal lock here! This is a somewhat weak field  for 32K dollars claimers. Certainly Certain has gas to be near the front end. My concern is the added distance for him tonight. JR jumps off Ride Candy Ride but gets a live veteran jockey in Castanon. One positive note is that the blinkers go off for Ride Candy Ride........ I always love the pedigree of Candy Ride as a win early type runner. As for first time starters Del Mar Dude .....cool name is trained by Peter Miller and gets a good gate jockey to get him out of the gate fast. This Danzig son might love the switch to turf......his works are modest .... and look to the tote board for more clues with this one.

Race 4            Five Half Claimer 8K
Two Violins will duke it out with Preach The Gospel for the lead on the front end. Preach The Gospel will then try to go as far as he can go........ it is five and half . This races have been won at this meet this year by mid pack closers which fits Quoted to a tee in this short sprint. Quoted drops to 8K and on paper looms large as one of the horses to fear at the wire. Swift Demand fits this bill as he is a mid pack closer and get a upgrade to Alonso Quinonez. As for Two Violins he race second at this very level his last race....... and is in form and fit! On class Quoted looks tough!

Race 5            Six Furlongs Turf 32K

Mr Cacht and Sassou looks like the speed of the race. Sassou is fit after he blazed a fast pace his last race. If he does not bounce he will tell this group come get me if you can. Mr. Cacht is talented with back class and speed....... if he is fit and ready to run like he did last year he can win this with odds. Brenthurst won sprinting this June on this track so please do not take this one lightly....... I pick Pack Your Bags his last race and he has a respectable four races and is on the upswing in winning two races and getting two seconds. Pack Your Bags is a course specialist and he loves this track and surface.

Race 6            One Mile Sixteenth Allowance
This just might be one of the hardest races of the night....and I envision that you might have a very good case for each and every runner in this race to win!  The field is void of any front runners and meets fillies who are stretch runners and mid pack closers! Moonlight Ali is the only front runner of the group but the concern is the distance....... she is bred for distance and might slow down the factions at the quarter and half mile pole she might just get tough down the lane. I was impressed with her maiden win! This Johannesburg filly looms large for the win...........lots to like about her. Tiz A Bud Girl had a troubled trip as she was hammered at the gate her last race. She is improving with each and every start so she is on the improve big time with speed numbers to fit! JR is a positive sign as he sticks with her! L'Enchanteresse is no win machine but she has the highest speed figs in this field. She will with Pedroza be right off Moonlight Ali lead and try to reel her in. She is a classic hanger but you still have to fear her because one of these days she will find herself on the lead at the wire. Rudy Lane is another classic hanger and as I said above might get the job done.

                     1. Moonlight Ali    2. Tiz A Bud Girl

Race 7            One Mile Turf Optional Claimer
A great betting race for the win pool and the pick three and pick four.  This race is wide open tonight! The class of this field is Meteore having run in Grade 2 races and run his heart out in the Del Mar Mile. Last year he won the Grade 2 La Jolla Stakes race. Wing Forward ran a prep race in the Green Flash Handicap at Del Mar. He needed that race after a 2 year long lay off. Martin Garcia rides him and he loves this track and this surface at Hollywood. Check out his workout since his last race.......... fast! beware of this dude! No Inflation is a interesting live horse that gets Joel to ride. A New York Shipper who looks live. Tiz West in his comeback race ran a respectable race after running wide at the top of the stretch at Fairplex. He was full of run at the wire. He looks scary to me because that was his first start in three months. If he improves off the bullring race he can win this. The rabbit of this race is Aggie Engineer who will be on a uncontested lead and will try to steal this race. A contentious wide open affair is the feature race of the night.

Race 8            Seven Furlongs Maiden 25K
A weak maiden ends the night at a difficult distance of seven furlongs for a claiming price of 25 g's. Magic Lantern had problems at Del Mar where she was steadied in traffic. With a bit of racing luck she is the obvious choice. She will be over bet by the public. Real Obvious was hammered at the windows her last race and she was a major disappointment. She takes off the blinkers for her money run. Suitable Attire is fit and in form and shortens up in distance....... A Player!  Sexy Melody is a interesting live long shot. She takes off the blinkers tonight and look who jumps on Victor E. Her numbers look low to me. Catch A Wave has run races thast fits with this group. The problem to me is that there is little pace to run at with a race void of any speed except one horse and that is Suitable Attire who just might steal this seven furlong race and hold on!
