WEDNESDAY AT FAIRPLEX

AZ WARRIOR AT DEL MAR BY DAVID MORANT

Bank $248 plus starting bank of $500 = $748

LATE PICK FOUR HIT :  paid $3,908.00 for 50 cents

Race 3          Four Furlongs Maiden 20K

Devil's  Mate looks like the speed with Guce taking the call might try to steal this bottom dweller at 20K. She was bet down like the second coming and she had to need her last race. She will be fitter this time around.  Mo Cheese claimed for 40K has been a disappointment at Del Mar...... has a hint of back races that make this horse a player. Mo Cheese will close on the rabbits. Blue Tango is making her first start in 2 months...... her speed numbers make her a major contender.... looks live for a win and The King is up....... A reading of the past performances of this field suggest a hot and contested pace.Sign In beat Blue Tango in her last race coupled with the fact that Sign In has speed...... and fits at this level. Alta Pretense showed speed at Fairplex when she was 3 years old. Her wheels came off but if she is fit and ready she has speed numbers that fit with this field............. a very hot contested pace in this wide open maiden affair.

Pick Four      4,6    with 2,3,5 with 1,6 with 1,2,7
                      Cost $18

Race 4          Four Furlongs Claimer 5K

Haven's Lake has never run for this low price....... if she has a clean break at the gate she should be stalking the pace with the filly Popular Date. She is trained by Jeff Blonde draws outside and will have a contested lead with Hyper Lass. Hyper Lass is taking on a tougher field then the northern fair entries in her last race.

        1. Hyper Lass  2. Haven's Lake    3. Popular Date

Race 5          Six Furlongs Maiden 32K

Certainly Certain trained by Walter Solis and magic man for 2 year olds gets the rail for a ground saving trip. He has speed and the rail gives him a ground save trip to the wire. A Major Player!. Grydler's Red  shortens up from a route to sprint.......... trained by AC and Berrio teams up...... makes him a player. Chiloquin second race after his first debut and quite frankly finished a even fourth...... and will be backed by Martin Pedroza bettors.....He just might be over bet.As for first time starters I like Score For Fun who looks very live in a suspect group of maidens...... tab for a long look when warming up at post time. Matt Garcia and  Melvin Stute hook up!

           1. Certainly Certain   2. Score For Fun

Race 6          Six Furlongs Claimer 20K

Ifitwasntfor Texas looks fast with a race with little speed. I can visualize this horse on the lead therefore slowing down the factions to win this wire to wire! The horse to beat from back East. Please note the turf to dirt switch and this Texas Glitter never has won on this surface but I see no reason why he cannot take to the old fashion dirt bullring. Gentle Romeo is fast maybe not as fast in the opening quarter as the rail horse but has speed number with Martin Pedroza to win this affair. He shortens up and has in the past posted big Beyer numbers to make this horse live in this race. If the speed melts down then Capt. Sparrow will be running on late to close on the rabbits.......at six furlongs this is a challenge for David Flores to get the horse into the bit more and be right off the pace....... looks like his decision to make. Remember he has won this condition before at 20K then at 25K. Rockin Zola ran a damn good race his first race coming back after a long lay off. He then threw in a clunker his second race at Del Mar. Please this horse looks like a long shot who might just out run his odds.....He has 5 wins out of 20 races...... and that's not too bad...... a player at double digit odds.

          1. Ifitwasntfor Texas   2. Rockin Zola 3. Gentle Romeo

Race 7          Six Furlongs Maiden 32K

Where have we seen this before: A maiden special open company filly drops into maiden 32K who has shown speed her first race. Katys Kitty gets Martin Pedroza to ride! What do think maybe 4 to 5 at post time. This is not a one horse race as I write this........ maybe it will after the calling of the race but..... Pacific Coast Girl ran like a public outing.......... she drops out of a maiden special weight race. She post a bullet workout so beware of AC and Berrio who team up. Dear Marie had a horrible trip she first time out and should show major improvement. She was well bet in her first start. I like the pedigree on her as she is by Montbrook who sends out winners first time out. Point Loma trained by Jerry Fanning has good pedigree with modest drills in the morning time. Fanning is not a trainer who throws in bullets in his horses in the morning time. She looks like a runner. High Water Cat I like the pedigree of Storm Cat.......she has been working at LA for her debut...........

      1. Katys Kitty  2. Dear Marie

Pick three  7 with 4,5,6,7,8 with 1,7,9   Pick Three Paid $411

Race 8          Six Furlongs Maiden Special Weight

Derrick Do ran a respectable comeback race at Del Mar........ should be fitter this time around.....Sky Fox has put together some impressive morning work outs.  He is  a blue blood that goes from a route to sprint and retains David Flores. He's A Dance Star looks live.... include in the pick three. Emperor Stone by Budget Stables gets the King to ride! She looms large and has speed to spare!  Unusually Lucky has run races that makes her a contender.....She has not race since April but has string together a series of good drills for her come backer today. As for a live first time starter do not take the pedigree of Vindacation lightly cause this sire sends babies to the winner circle early in there racing career.........Her name is Vindicate It........ might need a race but....... it looks like the fillies with a race under there belts..... like Derrick Do and Emperior Stone with  Sky Fox are the horses that have the speed and edge over the first time starters.

Pick Four  5,7  with 1,2,7,9 with 4,5 with 1,5,7,8

Seven look best on warm up before race!

         $20 Place 7

Race 9          Six Furlongs Claimer 5K

A wide open puzzler......... Quarta Coroa was on the bit until midstretch in a tougher race at Del Mar....... folded like a cheap suit...and double drops in class  your call!  Smooth and Savy drops in for 5K...... he will have a uphill battle because of his racing style. For The House looks interesting off for 2 years but has put together a modest work out tab for Jack van Berg who know how to get them fit and ready for a smasher...... if fit...... is a player.......Academy Spy might be getting a little long in the tooth........ but has the back class to make him a contender.... Stormy Game fits in this grab bag!

    1. Academy Spy  2. For The House  3. High Class Cat

Race 10        Seven Furlongs 2 year old Stakes

Celestic Night was my top pick at Del Mar .......... and looked great winning on the poly track. He has a workout to his credit and gets The King to ride today in the feature race. This might be a level of horses that he has not faced before......... Swiss Tart by the sire of Swiss Yodeler bred for speed and more speed exits a tough race against Bench Point. He gets the rail to save ground and is the colt to beat! Winning Desire beat maidens at the 62K level but the Hess/Flores combo is deadly  and must be respected. Edgewick Road fits ....... a player!

        1. Swiss Tart   2. Winning Desire  3.Celestic Night

Race 11        Six Half Claimer 8K

The race condition is non winners of 2... period! The pace scenario look to have maybe one rabbit which is Hitters Last out........ and guest who is riding " The King". Hitters Last Out will be sent to the lead and get a ground saving trip...... Thrice The Vice will try to go with the rail horse......both horses look like a contested battle for the lead and I think on looking at the factions that Hitters Last Out is faster then Thrice The Vice. Remember that Thrice The Vice had to go up north to win his maiden race. Red On Sunday another cheap speed horse that will be sent .... A In Excess colt has speed number to be competitive and fits. Smokenmore has raced in this condition to many times to be my top pick. This field has no world beaters so he does have pace to run at today. Intothewild claimed by Peter Eurton who is hitting at 43% second time off the claim box...... so Beware! Wolgan Valley if the speed melts down at six furlongs is the scary closer who is a major contender to win this!
