Fairplex Pick Six Carry Over by DRF

Fairplex: $42k pick six carryover

A series of middle-price winners Friday at Fairplex Park, including Faisca ($15.20) in the $50,000 Phil D. Shepherd Stakes, helped generate a $42,325 pick six carryover into Saturday.
All pick six tickets were dead Friday after the fifth leg, the seven-furlong Shepherd for 2-year-old fillies (race 10). Odds-on favorite Belleofthebridle finished off the board; Faisca and jockey Alonso Quinonez won by five and one-quarter lengths.
Faisca is trained by Caesar Dominguez, whose 19 stakes wins at Fairplex Park ranks fourth all time.
The pick six Saturday covers races 7-12, and begins with a potential single in the first leg.
Race-7 favorite Goonie Goo Goo is listed as the 8-5 favorite in the four-furlong race for $25,000 maiden-claiming fillies and mares. On paper, she appears to be a front-running standout.
Race 8 looks like a two-horse race between 8-5 favorite Humble Maggie Go and 9-5 second choice Molly McFast. The six-furlong sprint is for $5,000 claiming fillies that have not won three races.
Race 9 is a six-furlong sprint for $5,000 open claiming fillies and mares; Squeeze Me Tight and Dona Mary are 2-1 and 3-1, respectively.
Race 10 is a potential trap. A six-furlong starter allowance for 2-year-olds, the favorites have the same running style. Gibson Home Run is the 9-5 program favorite; 2-1 Gnarly Dude is listed at 2-1. Both are front-runners.
Race 11 is the $115,000 Barretts Debutante for 2-year-old fillies in which Dearly Concerned is the 2-1 program favorite.
Race 12 is the final leg, and second-start dropper Tinner’s Bride is the 5-2 favorite racing six and one-half furlongs. The $32,000 maiden-claiming race is for 2-year-old fillies.
The pick six pool Saturday is expected to exceed $250,000.
