Carrie Rose trained by Mike Mitchell who is hitting  at 40%  when he drops a maiden special weight horse in a maiden claiming race. This is the case today with Carrie Rose. The first three races look chalky to me..... might start a pick three in the 3rd race!

Race 2          One Mile Sixteenth Turf Claimer (32K)

Big Wig looking for his 4th win for trainer Jeff Mullins. Joel Rosario climbs aboard rising up one level.  Lamm shipping in from Northern California sports strong speed numbers. He should be right off the pace in a good position to close down the lane. No value in this field as Big Wag will be 4/5 when the race goes off!

Race 3          One Mile Sixteenth Maiden Special Weight

Fashion Trend has run with quality fillies like Antares and Crisp. I hate to be chalk charlie but it looks like someone has to step up big time to beat her today....... but as we have seen in horse racing she has been beaten in all of her seven starts......... looks like graduation day for her.

Race 4          Five Furlong Turf Optional Claimer
The pace scenario looks fast and hot contested on the lead with a number of speed horses shortening up for this five furlong sprint on turf. Looks competitive as Missdealornodeal and Old Topper will take most of the money. The race sets up for a closer:

Race 7          Five Half Furlong  Graduation Stakes

2 year old 5 and half furlong Stakes race for Cal-Bred is today's feature race. Fun and contentious field:

1. Leon Ayala faces state bred in his return!

2. Offlee Wild Boys: likes Del Mar and is facing winners after breaking maiden..... not great nor bad.......

3. Joy Boy..... hard to get excited about maiden breaking who wire the field and now is facing winners for the first time. Having said that Joy has a great competitive speed number that fits with this field.  A contender!


4. Blingboy......... has early speed and I love the pedigree with Roar and 49er......... a plus passing grade!


5. Bruno B is still a maiden and I like that fact is making his second career start today. He had a trouble trip in his debut and if the pace melts down in this race he has a big closing kick..... No throw out here!  A long shot live horse in this race....... many things to like!

6. Edgewick Road has faced open company and now tries the waters of Cal-Bred.

7. Bench Points lightly raced 2 year old that looks like the stand out in this field.

8. Woodmans Luck........ has a big shot to upset this field and will be closing on the rabbits.




9 Lucky Mr: I love his running style..... A major player!


10. J J Minister has the biggest Beyer speed number in the field and look awesome breaking his maiden at Del Mar ..... likes the poly track but maybe a bounce today!


11 Stormin Rae  looks like the favorite while posting strong speed figures.
