Race 6 Six Half Furlong O.C.A .
Good betting race because some tough colts in this race. First, Ron Ellis is clicking at 33% at this meet and he is sending out lay off horses and hitting at 30%. Truest Legend had talent before his wheels came off last year. He is back after almost a year off. He has strong speed numbers in his maiden and allowance win last year. Believe in Hope is also trained by Ellis giving him a one to punch in this Optional Claimer. Believe In Hope won after 18 months coming off the bench at Santa Anita. His last race was a route and he threw in a somewhat lackluster performance. Hard Bill is a major player and contender. He is coming back after a year off. Mike Puype has, like Ellis, has strong numbers with lay off types. Please do not dismiss Hard Bill. Star Nicholas is a pro and might be getting a little long in the tooth but is a contender today down the lane. Details R Sketchy might set the pace and he shortens up a half furlong from his last race. Gold Star Status beat Star Nicholas last year loves the cushion track and Beware of this horse kicking the final furlong to the wire. This race as I said earlier is wide open to start the late pick four which looks like it will pay off big time. If Truest Legend needs a race which might be the case......... then this start of the late pick four is a wide open affair.
Late Pick 4
6th 6,9,
7th 5
8th 2,3,4
9th 2,5,7,8
Late Pick 3
7th 5
8th 2,3,4
9th 2,5,7,8
Race 7 American H Turf One Mile eighth
1. Global Hunter 2.Glowing Praise 3. Temple City
Race 8 One Mile Sixteenth Allowance
1. American Dreaming 2.Pure Class 2. Kayce Ace
Race 9 Five Furlongs Turf Maiden Special Weight
If there is no monsters as to first time starters in this race :American Wildcat has the experience edge as has put up strong speed numbers. Robbie the Cat might be one of those monsters and brings a excellent work tab for Mandella. Looks who's riding and staying around for the last race. Please do not dismiss the pedigree of Joburg bred for grass out of Johannesberg and is a baby who has been training at San Luis Rey Downs near Fallbrook. I will add Joel's horse in my late pick Four and Pick 3.
