Friday Where the Turf Meets the Surf

A Great Card for a Friday Night...... I need to get back on the beam.... The Bank is $661.40........lost my Pick three ticket for $42 and my Pick four for big money $1.

Race 1          Six Half Furlong  Allowance 40K

I like the horses that have run with Sammy's A Runnin but you can make a case for all the horses in this competitive 40k allowance. My Pick is
            1.Oak Kye Why 2. Sammy's A Runnin 3. Warring Heart

Race 2          Five Furlong Turf Optional Claimer

3. Raetodandy shortens up and is one of two who have won 2 in this field.
4. Unionize almost beat 3........ Hmmm.
8. Quoted............ gets out of the warm waters of Stakes and just might find this temperance more to his liking..... Do not take him lightly...
Long Shot: Pico Pico: Victor can get them fit and ready to fire off a lay off.......... He runs on the poly track but looks a little light on speed numbers but remember he is still a 3 year old facing older is his biggest disadvantage.

            1. Raetodandy  2. Unionize  3. Quoted

Race 3          Five Half Furlong Maiden ( 32K)
                     Not in Order

1. Missilette might just be the speed of this race.
2. Sparrow bred to fire quickly and the Clockers like him as well.
3. Darling Ciana sports a excellent work out tab and looks like a runner.
4. Darling Disarray I love the long work out so Beware!

5. Lemon Drop Ridge exits a key maiden race and ran a respectable 3rd.......... with a race under the belt..... can improve... Beware!
6. Sweet Consolidator........ one race does not make a career..... off the pedigree........

           1. Sparrow 2. Lemon Drop Ridge 3. Sweet Consolidator

Race 4          Six Half Furlong (8K) Claimer
A salty cast of characters for this level today. Jay Totter's short list of wacko's.  No Speed............Void of Speed......
1. Smooth and Savvy boy been earning many checks to pay for the food and hotel bill.... maybe the new owner might cash.... I have wondered when he might shorten up to a distance that this plodder likes....... take note that the trainer is 25% second off the claim....

2. Stormy Game the last time he hit the board IKE was the President!

3. Dee Dee's Legancy drops and in form....but I wonder why all the long lay offs... might not be the soundest of horses!

4. Taxi Fleet beat One Vote three back...... tough old bird and I can see PV nursing this horse to the wire.

5. Candy Coat .... A son of Candy Ride who is at Rancho Santa Fe eating his oats and veggies as we speak.... He is a cast out in this Royal family ........... running at this level...... back with friends today!

6. Stand Tall oh really are you standing tall today and can you improve on your last fluke or are you getting better..... only time will tell!

7. One Vote a tough 4 year old that does stand tall down the stretch.
My concern is can he put back to back wins together anytime soon!

8. My Man Murf  how many excuse do I have to give you to break cleanly...... you loom large down the backstretch put the proof is in the pudding.

 9. Waive Liability....... I will waive at you when you come in last!

              1. One Vote   2. Smooth and Savvy  3. Candy Coat

Race 5          Six Half Furlong Cal. Bred Maiden SW

1. Cee's Pryme trained by Gaines and Joel takes the call.... looks like a runner but I like the other Cee Tizzy baby in this race....... but your call.

3. Full Effect maybe 18 is his magic number and has had troubled trips in his last 2.....

6. Armenian Star.......... well just might be a runner

7. Gobbler's Knob ...... I was wondering when this horse would shorten up because this distance suits his running style.

8. Absolutilypositivity.... sounds like the song from Bob Dylan to me and exits 4 good races with quality horses in each of his last 4. Tab the vacation and a much needed one at that. The horse to beat!

9. C Tiz Run........... Beware This one is live!  Look out! Hold on I'm coming....... old song....... I like his work outs that's all. and his pedigree.

10.  Franconi....... Why is he 6 to 1...... tell me there are no monsters in this race...... and he almost won his first race at state bred 41k and get Lasix today........ and he is a major contender! Watch out for his pedigree by Avenue of the Flags out of a mare by Moscow Ballet....

          1. 8  2. 9 3. 10

Race 6           One Mile Sixteenth Turf Optional Claimer
1. Ashee is the horse I posted here on my blog to hit the board and she almost beat the pro Standford Dolly. I expect her to run better today. She is a major player at 6 to 1

3. Caitie's Secret looks like the morning line favorite...... she will be
 bet today!

7. Warren's Jitterbug has been freshen for 4 months and returns with a excellent work out tab. She put together 2 respectable races with graded stakes company. She has PV in the irons and this might be his best mount to get his first win back. She has never run with this type of field and I think she in the one to fear down the stretch. Note the quality of runner's she has faced with Blind Luck and Evening Jewel maybe the best 3 year old fillies in the nation.

Race 7            One Mile Half Courgar H. Grade 3

2. Lifetime.......He can still run in allowance company what the Hay! He has not gone this far but his pedigree helps him but I think this race is a acid test for him..... he will sink or swim...but I'm not quitting my day job to unload on him this race...

3. Unusual Suspect... had him his last race to hit the board and he did that... think he looks like maybe minor awards for him....but He did win this race last year and then has a batting average around 0....... 11 losses. I cannot throw this dude out of my Pick Three's and Four's............

5. Richard's Kid carrying the high load of weight. He is the class of this race. He is trained by Bob Baffert and had to need his last race. He can win but one caveat he might be looking down the road to Classic .

6. Temple City gets a eight pound break in weight from the Kid. He comes off a heart breaker lost............He looks like the one to catch and if Joe can slow down the early factions this Dynaformer out of a Danzig mare is one tough son of a bitch.

 7. Delightful Kiss looks off form but is a graded winner on dirt and the synth stuff.

         1. Temple City  2. Richard's Kid3. Unusual Suspect

Race 8         One Mile Sixteenth Maiden 25K
Contenders: Not in order but the Jay Totter's method
-
1. No Stadium: Drop into bottom feeder level after a strict diet of maiden state bred. His speed figures are improving and will likely in a stalking position right off the pace. Not great but one of the ones but notes 2 good work out......
2. Royal Dream ... A Theatrical baby trying the poly track after throwing in a disappointing last race against much better. Note... speed and might just be the rabbit who tries to steal this race.
3. Body Builder at 5 to 1 will be a closer.....maybe but others look better to me!
4. Party At My Place... Weird ...ran a miserable first race but was claimed by Yes! Mike Mitchell for 32k....... your call and he has Martin Garcia in the irons....... just weird and might just take some action... but I like to see one before I unload....
5. David's Ruler drops out of much better after not showing up in 3 races and only beating 3 horses out of 29........ right! but morning line is 5 to 1.
6. Casa O might be the other speed and I know he can go the distance...... might just be the betting favorite. A lot to like!
7. Leyva Man....... with Joy Scott riding a professional jockey and I think should be in the hall of fame for chicks........ I like her chances but  my concern is the outside post position. A Major Player!

        1. Leyva Man  2. Casa O  3. No Stadium/Royal Dream
