BREEDERS' CUP SATURDAY FREE PLAY

RACE 1     JUVENILE TURF SPRINT STAKES

Six and a half furlongs sprinting downhill on the tricky Santa Anita turf course open up to fillies and colts!

ANALYSIS:

(Pace) The early factions looks fast and contested as Cool Comfort, Stormy Liberal and Tizcano contested for the early lead.

Jim Cassidy debuted Ocho Ocho Ocho on the dirt at this track dashing five furlongs.......... I was very impressed with how he won...........He flew home from off the pace and mowed them down. Joe Talamo re-rides this guy again which is a positive sign. He is a big mature two year old that is rare to see. He earned a big speed figure for a baby. He is sired by Street Cry out of the mare Winner ( Horse Chestnut)......bred to take to the turf.........Moreover, if he transfer's his running style closing from off the pace the down hill turf course is ideal for him.......His morning line is 8 to 1 which is a great value bet for the bettor's.

Dangerous all the time is Westley's Ward opinion on the speedy filly Cool Comfort........Ward must speak highly of her as she takes on the guys from the rail. She cuts back in distance after showing speed going one mile and a sixteenth.........Last year a filly in this race beat the guys so beware of her .........she will need to clear early and get position from the rail...........this field will need to catch this speed bomb to win......if no one goes with her she might be hard to collar gate to wire. Ward hold a hot hand in this race as he sends out Cool Comfort, Lamontagne and Crown The Kitten........all major contender's.

Peter Miller trains Tizcano a two year old colt that won his debut with high speed figures at Gulfstream Park then was shipped west to make his California debut which was a stake race and race a sub-par dull race on the dirt.......I see no valid excuses why he ran a bad race but Miller has put the blinkers on him today so maybe he will be more focus and switches from the dirt to the turf for the first time. He has semi Blue-blood pedigree sired by Cee's Tizzy out of the mare Gone West..........Cee Tizzy's babies seem to need more experience then most .his is his third start and I expect a better performance then his last race.
Jeff Bonde entered a maiden Megaboss.......that I expect will improve after his finished third in his debut.......the winner was Stormy Liberal and he could not collar that rabbit......He did finished closing as he was wide then came out wide finishing fast......I like his running style closing on the speed. Great connections owned by Toffan and bred by Street Cry and Free House. At 20 to 1 the bettors will over-look him.

           1.  Ocho Ocho Ocho
           2.  Megaboss
           3.  Crown The Kitten
