NOTES FROM THE UNDERGROUND

This week-end spotlights the Grade 2 California on Saturday and on Sunday the Grade 3 Affirmed is the feature race.

Tab a big performance this weekend by Morning Line......is the horse to catch on the lead......


In the Gamely Stakes.......Belle Royale edged out Oasis by a half length ......a talented four year old that looks to climb the class ladder when we go to Del Mar.

In the Los Angeles Grade 3 Handicap.....Baffert sent out Roman Threat who broke quick from the gate and never looked back.....A impressive performance with a number of talented horses in the field......Tab this race as a prep race for Rail Trip.....see this one at the beach this summer.


I under-estimated the horse Wilkinson in the American Grade 2 Handicap. After seeing this one warm up on the track.....good looking horse.......I should have bet him on his looks.......He took a short lead in early stretch to post a huge upset over Mr. Commons.



On my watch list......

           1. Jimmy Creed....nice debut......but lost!

           2. Call To Serve.....was visually impressive

           3. Amarish....visually good looking

           4. Veter......nice US debut....tab for next start

           5. Bella Viaggia.....should win next time out

           6. D¨Obession.....should love added distance

           7. Flashy Dame......tough lost as re-rallied
