CLOSING WEEKEND SATURDAY

MAJESTIC CITY BY MORANT

RACE 1

A field of six starts the closing weekend card at Hollywood.  Every horse has a legitimate shot to win this sprint race. The pace looks contested on the front end. Clue Me In has been razor sharp coupled with being claimed three straight. He loves this course. Mark Of The Warrior looked very good winning at the 10 G level last time out.....takes a slight class hike....game horse. Looking For Candy was in that race with Warrior finishing second.... might just turn the tables today. The class comeback dropper is Bradium who has been freshen up for this.... it usually is not a positive sign dropping after facing much better.... but that is not always the case...... He also is switching surfaces....has a real shot here. Preferred Mandate beat Liberal Arts who came back yesterday and won.... He fits on class and speed figures.... beware!  A good betting race because this field looks very even on speed figures and class. No really solid stand out here.!

RACE 2

A low rent maiden sprint race for 30 G´s. All Squared Away comes in fresh after two good races last sprint at the wood.  Miller is hot with horses coming off long lay offs.........I really like the works here...the horse to beat.  Peter Miller has two horses....the other one is the maiden special weight dropper Royal Alexander.... just might come out running here. The pace scenario looks to have both Rio Good and My Royal Knight press the pace on the front end. Rio Good gets Bejarano but do not sell short My Royal Knight as he shortens up in distance....he faded at the top of the stretch....but might be more game here. Hava Cigar exits a key maiden race....might be on the upswing as O´Neil claimed him and now adds the blinkers. A tough race but All Aquared Away looks ready to fire right out of the gate.

RACE 3

Imperialistic Diva jumps off the page when handicapping this race. She ran a good race in the Ramser at Santa Anita. She then faced older mares in a highly regarded allowance race as the betting favorite ....she finished second.... Rosario stays with her today going one mile and a eighth on the turf. Born Lucky and Farley Star looks to be her main rivals. Skinny Genes a filly on my watch list......is no throw as she gets the rail ....she is a good looking filly that is very game.

RACE 4

Two year old fillies in a maiden special Cal Breds sprint race on the cushion track. Speedway Monkey gets the good outside post. She is the sister to Screaming Regal. Vicki Victoria beat Money at Del Mar then the table were turned and the Monkey beat her. Puff Pastry ran in the same race getting fourth...she will move forward. Raggin Wood looks to press the pace after facong open maiden special weight fillies....but that race was weak after Tweleve Folds came back and did not fire..... Tweleve Folds was weak but was a good debut for Raggin Wood.

RACE 5

One Mile on the turf for the claiming price of 25 G´s. Moudez is razor sharp...... winning three out of four races..... I know the races were cheaper but has a real touch of back class last year. Miles Heir had to need her last starter.... a comeback shipper...look who climbs aboard Rosario....look out. The only horse I have like of laste by the cold trainer Knapp is Victorian Prince who seemd to really like this turf course.....she sharp and on the upswing... Drysdale takes off the blinkers for Gothic Samuri....who needed last start to get into racing fitness. Talamo climbs aboard.... Moscato looks to improve after three races this summer and fall.... I like the fact that this six year old switches trainers and is wheeled back quickly after last start. This race looks suspect to me.... Iám trying to beat Moudez in this spot.... I understand if you like this sharp horse in this field.

RACE 6

A awesome race by Genius last month at the wood. He was clearly the winner in his fast beyer speed number debut.... The high price son of  Smart Strike should climb the class ladder.....next year Stake races for this dude. Wall Dance was second to a talented horse Fast Bullet.... any improvement puts him in the winners circle. He is a really talented horse...beware!

Hope And Believe looked good winning for Ron Ellis....and Jay Em Ess Stables....... King Of California is talented....

RACE 7

Bob Baffert on Cash Call Day sends out two first time starters. Visible Marq and Bobby Flay------ post posititon one and two with fast lighting work tab in tow. Our Lucky Son looks like a runner to me. A tough wide open race that starts the late pick four......might just hit the all button in this spot.

RACE 8

The pace looks to be contested on the front end which sets it up for a stone cold closer....both Killer Bear and Bay Rush.  Admssion is facing winners for the first time. He has run with some really talented horses.... in maiden races... was very game. I expect with this field he can climb the class ladder..

RACE 9

The Cash Call Futurity going one mile and a sixteenth on the cushion track in a wide open field of 13 starters. The field includes...

1. Handsome Mike....look if he takes to this cushion track he just might wire....yes I said wired this field....He pressed the pace at one mile....most horse give it up when two or more horses go out and press a fast pace........ He did not give it up...beaten only by a nose in the Generious stakes...

2. Brother Francis.... weird talented two year old that looks to be improving........ first time going two turns but should love the added distance.....at the mornin gline of 20 to 1... very few will beat him....... my longshot pick here

3. Groovin Solo.........like the pedgiree but still a maiden... looking eleswhere......would be a shocker.

4. Empire Way....a talented horse who stretches out for Sadler and Rosario rides this long shot...

5. Drill..... if you draw a line in his last two races or give him a pass...... then he is a scary horse getting back on this surface. He beat Majestic City and ran second to Creative Cause......... look we all know he has talent but what happen in his last two starts.... horrible...

6. Sky Kingdom...facing winners for the first time for Baffert... He will be back today....... Iám siding with others.

7. Blingo..........love the connections of Zenyetta team.... Our Boy Benjamin won yesterday breaking his maiden..... He has a perfect style to stalk the pace and kick clear...lot´s to like here.

8. Rousing Sermon....Looked very good in the Real Quiet... got beat by Liasion......I like Liasion better then him but should run big here.

9. Liasion....seeking third win for Baffert. He looked awesome in the Real Quiet--- He will stalk the pace which looks to be Handsome Mike and Majestic City.

10. Cozzetti....great jockey and very good trainers.... I see a big race with this talented horse by Cozzene.... better on turf maybe... but has a legitimate shot to run a very big race......

11. Majestic City....I like this guy because he has both speed and tactical speed........ do not like the fact that he gets a bad post position.......He must clear early because at Hollywood the first turn comes up quickly.

12. Basmati...........mades some money.... bad post today...like both trainer and jockey.....has gas to clear.

13. Desormais.........turf horse...I think... GO Flores from the outside..

RACE 10

A low rent 20 G maiden sprint race.... Let´s take the new face the first time starter by Mike Mitchell....... To The Top...nice bullet work out in tow..........as Talamo who has been red hot this week. Rags For Bens switches jockeys and get a new trainer... He might wake up from the outside post today.... Subtle Greek looks like he is spotted to run a big race today.... He warrants respect big time here.
