Friday Del Mar

RACE 1

Two year old maiden fillies sprinting five and half furlongs.
Wade County drops in class here after her debut in a key maiden race. If there are no monsters with any first time starters she looks to be the one to fear at the wire. There is two fillies that I think might be over-looked here. Fire Wise and Thunder Purple.... both have win early pedigree and solid works....watch the tote board for clues!

            1. Wade County
            2. Thunder Purple
            3. Fire Wise

RACE 2

A carry over the pick six starts in race two a maiden 40 starter allowance. Real Dream adds blinkers with a race under her belt and solid works makes her the favorite. The filly I pick last time out ran like a filly that needed a race......Stayclassysandiego. The clockers's like the filly on the rail Outrageous Belle.

            1. Real Dream
            2. Outrageous Belle
            3. Stayclassysandiego

RACE 3

The pace should be fast and contested with Cactus Flyer and Sugar Spike pressing a fast pace. Rebecca has speed from the outside. I expect she will be over-looked by the betting public. She has been on my watch list and she has a good turn of foot sprinting. Tribalious had a troubled trip last time out. If she gets clear sailing she can find the winners circle tonight. The horse to fear I think is Magic School who exits a respectable finish in a solid stakes race. The race sets up from someone coming off the pace. She does have a good turn of foot with the red hot Joe Talamo riding her.

            1. Magic School
            2. Rebecca
            3. Tribalious

RACE 4

The speed looks to be Full Fashion and the dropper Tiz Heartless pressing the pace. The betting will most likely be these top contenders. Dan Hendrick's sends out Thou Shall Not who ran around the track first pressing a fast pace then faded. I expect a better performance today......... must include in the exotics. I will let the first time starters run one before betting.

             1. Thou Shall Not
             2. Full Fashion
             3. Tiz Heartless

Pick Four  1,6 with 2,5,7,8,10 with 1,6,9 with 1,3,6

Cost $45.00   Paid $125.55

RACE 5

The Sandy Blue Handicap is the feature race in this short Friday Night card....the line-up includes:

2. Mizdirection.........the horse I picked in the San Clemente to win......... she almost wired the field....she will be tough right back in this spot.

4. Elvies Lane....has the look of a herd horse that does not want to pass horses down the lane. Pass!

5. Great Hot a second time starter for AC who usually fires there best with a race under her belt. She looks very playable.... a sneaky live horse for the win.

7. Bauble Queen...... looked very good beating up a suspect field in her last race.....but having said this she warrants respect for the win.

8. Don Lunas....a talented filly by Storm Cat trained by Jay Robbins...... good to see Robbins getting horses....has tactical speed....she warrants respect...she lost a heartbreaker in a grade three race at Keeneland....

10. Fifth Commandment....... almost beat Mizdirection two races back. She routed in the San Clemente.... ran a dull race. I expect with a route race under her belt she will be more in the bit and stalking the speed here. Blueblood pedigree with Victor re-riding her.

11. Dynamo.......bet down like she was the second coming of Zenyetta last time out.... Rosario knows her well. I expect Mandella will have her ready to run a big race.........bad post position but she is a closer so this post will not hurt her as she has a good turn of foot turning for home.

            1. Mizdirection...gets top billing
            2. Fifth Commandment/ Great Hot
            3. Dynamo

RACE 6

One Mile route race in the low rent district. Lease Of Life and Whirling Thunder look to be the horses to fear down the lane.North Fork should get a perfect trip turning for home. The pace looks suspect as no fast sprinters appear in this line-up. Luv Dragon a semi head case.... just might be send to the lead with Martin Pedroza in the irons. Captain Sparrow might press the pace. Has a major look in this race!

          1. Sir Bell
          2. Luv Dragon
          3. Lease Of Life....Captain Sparrow

RACE 7

A two year old maiden turf race.... Unusual Heatwave debut was very good. If he can repeat that performance he will be tough to deny for the win. My concern is that he is a Cal Bred facing open company. Smart Ellis with a race under his belt should love the switch to turf. Tyler re-rides him as Mandella has him cranked for a better performance this time around. Bad Barry added blinkers sprinting on the main track. He has speed and goes long on the turf. He has the pedigree for both the distance and the surface to make a major impact on the rail. The top trainer and jockey has a live first time starter as Mental Giant a blueblood makes his debut.

         1. Unusual Heatwave
         2. Smart Ellis
         3. Bad Barry
         4. Mental Giant
