Friday Del Mar

BUTTERFLY BEACH BY DAVID MORANT

RACE 1

A sprint for two year old maidens for the claiming price of 50G's. The linup includes the following:

1. Frisky Moment....a first time starter trained by Jerry Fanning who has in past years has had many winners at this track. By Storm Cat with ultra fast drill at Santa Anita.

2. Plenty Of Henny....Top Barn and top jockey rides this first time starter with modest works.

3. Senior Rain....Another first time starter by Peter Miller with Martin Garcia riding.  I like the long work-out on July 4th..

4. Del Siete Leguas....third race in his carrer. Walther Solis trains as Gomez re-rides....He ran into Majestic City then finished a respectable race. I like the connections hiking him up to this modest level. He looms large as the one to beat.

5. Langfurs Lightning....interesting colt by Danzig as P-Val calls aboard......this first time starter.

6. Traweek....second race of his career...drops from maiden special weight and adds Lasix for the first time..

         1.  Del Siete Legus
         2.  Frisky Moment
         3.  Senior Rain

RACE 2            CTBA STAKES TWO YEAR FILLIES

2. Willa B. Awesome..... She finished third in the Cinderella Stakes as the winner Killer Grace came back in the Landaluce and won. She will stalk the pace and has a good turn of foot late in the game.

3. Heleonor Rugby..... A.C. trains her...her last race she ran into City Route who is perfect so far. She should make a final strike at the top of the lane for Santiago- Reyes.

4. Roar Baby Roar....looked very good winning a modest field of maidens. I like the pedigree as she is improving.... She should get a good trip stalking the speed.... a dark horse in this race.

5. Evelyn Trouble....still a maiden.... weird.... needed someone to fill into this field.

           1.  Heleonor Rugby
           2.  Willa B Awesome
           3.  Roar Baby Roar

RACE 3

Mike Mitchell claimed Veillit last time out. She is going for her fourth straight win. The pace looks to have Veillit and Angel of Mystery dualing for the lead. I expect at post time Veillit will be on many pick six tickets as a single. This race looks suspect to me.

               1. Veillit.... top billing
               2. Capaletta.... beware cagey No. Cal trainer
               3. Akeela.... fresh with Chew and Santiago

RACE 4

Scarlet Scarlet looks to be the speed in this one mile turf race for three year old fillies. She tells this group Come Catch Me. A contender. I have followed Brown Is Beige as a horse on my watch list. She has found a home on the turf. She goes long for the first time. Her last race she broke slow and almost collared the rabbit at the wire. I think she will love the added distance. She needs to break quick then wait and stalk the pace then kick clear down the stretch. I expect Anniversary Girl to roll late with Joel Rosario riding.... Has he won a race yet....He is due.

            1. Brown Is Beige
            2. Anniversary Girl

RACE 5

This is a highly competitive field for 30 G maidens. John Sadler drops two horses from straight special weight to the claiming ranks....Stary Light and Kalk Bay. When he makes a move like this he hits almost half of the time..... Huntington Harbour has a win early pedigree. She finished third and should improve big time tonight. Candys Girl switches to the poly track after running on turf. She might just shock this field....Tab the new face jockey face. She was steadied last time out.... not with out a shot. Just check out the fillies she has run against...

            1. Stary Light....drops
            2. Candys Girl....fit with these
            3. Mama Janka.... fly by for Puype

RACE 6

Dontmessroundwithjim looks spotted to run a smasher. He has been freshened up for this. He gets ten pounds off his back as the bug boy tries to get his first win at Del Mar. He is listed as a first time gelding. Major equipment change. He is better suited at this distance of one mile.

            1. Dontmessroundwithjim....
            2. Sir Bell....longshot play with Tyler

RACE 7

A entry level allowance feature race on the turf with ten runners.........makes a contentious competitive race.

2. Dr Green....... He was entered in the Oceanside Stakes but did not draw- in....... He needs a quick turn-around for Cassidy and Smith.

3. Red Sharp Humor looks to press the pace here. This race has a number of one dimensational speed types. He is one!

4. Cat Talk...... looked great beating restricted Cal-breds. He is looking for his third straight win. The pace will be contested with him dualing for the lead. He is very talented and has been training solid.... do not sell short this one!

5. Cloud Man....lost two heart-breakers at the wire. This race with fast factions sets up for his money run.... He is the horse to beat with the red-hot Joe Talamo riding.

6. Aragorn Sword........ speedy type that looked good crushing maiden claimers at the Wood....I love his pedigree with Gaint Causeway and a interesing dark horse in this field....If he was the only speed in this field I would love him in this spot.

7. Every Ego...... weird as Joel Rosario jumps off... He is a game sort....always tries hard. The race sets up for a closer like him. Tab to Gomez as he climbs on.... interesting!

8. Great Warrior is a very game horse that has run with Cloud Man...... Can he turn the tables on him today with Bejarano riding....yes he can.... but maybe second or third.

9. Memen.... from Ireland..... He has been freshened up and pointed for this spot. He is a closer who drops in class after facing better. Victor rides ....

10. King Cola has excellent turf breeeding.......He adds the blinkers. He should get a relaxed trip most of the way around the back-stretch. He might just shock this field.

11. Diamond Geezah..... Patrick rides as Smug scratch out of this race.

           1. Cloud Man....needs pace to run....Cat Talk and Aragon Sword
           2. Great Warrior....very game
           3. Every Ego.... closer

RACE 8

The nightcap is a sprint with a modest field of maidens. I re-watch the video of Tempting Solution who in his second start pulled Delgadillo to the front at the quarter pole. He was steadied for a unknown reason then swept six wide finishing fourth. He looked good flying wide... I like him in this spot to win. Tab the switch in jockeys as a hungry jockey is up. He should love the added distance to six and half tonight. Johardy is making his second start after a good looking debut. He looked Ok.... rested up for Neil French and Joe Steiner re-rides. The five year old maiden special weight dropper My Quick T will get alot of action..... I was wrong about Gonzo Bob......and he was a maiden dropper to the bottom of the claiming ranks. Pass on him...A interesting dark horse is Doug O'Neil horse Superten who started his career routing........ a very hard task to do first time out. He was ranked then steadied and did not show his best. I expect he will show up in this route to sprint angle for a top barn with double digit odds. Plus the like his morning works..... expect more here.

              1. Tempting Solution
              2. Superten
              3. Johardy
