SATURDAY HOLLYWOOD PARK

RACE 1

A tricky distance of seven and half furlongs opens Saturday's card. Tenattwo Twoatten looks prime at this distance. Woodman's Luck has a good turn of foot after showing his class in the Snowchief Stakes. I expect Senator Bob will show the way with P-Val riding. The X factor live longshot is Macho Dorado who in the past likes this surface. He switches surface today after running a respectable turf route races at Golden Gate Fields.

            1. Tenattwo Twoatten....ideal distance
            2. Woodman's Luck....should be scary turning for home
            3. Macho Dorado.... good value....

RACE 2

The favorite is Ignited who pressed the pace in his first two starts. Bejarano re-rides which makes him a strong contender for the win. Unusual Heat usually like the cushion track so Royal Heat trained by Abrams has posted a bullet drill after a horrible debut faces better horses. Comic Baby adds the blinkers after walking out of the gate in his debut at Golden Gate. He should move forward big time with a race under his belt. Take note that the deadly Vienna and Flores team hook up again on Link Suances. Owned by Red Baron Vienna's barn fires there best shot second time out....Beware~ Warren's Dr. Vang drops in class coupled with his fast morning works and blinkers makes this son of Mr. Greenly very live for the win. I like the equipment change with the drop in class in this modest field of maidens.

               1. Warren's Dr. Yang
               2. Link Suances
               3. Ignited

RACE 3

This is a wide open turf sprint with the most likely favorites both Cherokee Heaven and one tough dude Earnednevergiven. Both strong contenders for the win here. The edge goes to a coin flip.... Cherokee Heaven. My upset horse is a improving Broad Brush five year old gelding El Vino. On paper there looks to be a slow pace with Raetodanty trying to steal the race on the front end. If he gets a relaxed lead he might reserve enough energy to kick clear down the stretch. Carbonite is seeking his fourth straight win. He is bred for the turf as he goes to a new surface with Rosario riding. He might be a strong contender but gets the acid test in class for red hot trainer Mike Mitchell. He record is strong six wins out of 12 races.

               1. Cherokee Heaven
               2. Earnednevergiven
               3. El Vino

RACE 4

This is a fairly strong race for the low rent district. I think his wife Kathy told Eoin...... " Let's go for a win with Advice." At this level is looks spotted for a big performance. Rivergrade Boy is a underachiever who looked great in his last race. He drops for the money run with Bejarano re-riding him today. His last works are fast and therefore he is a major player. Hunter Creek has been claimed three straight times. He is the scary horse at this level. He is seeking his fourth straight victory today. Evertime I do not bet Skellytown he steps up and wins. Racketeer looked like he needed a race after coming off a long lay off. He ran a solid race getting third facing better. I expect with his backclass he is spotted for a smasher. I like him.

              1. Racketeer.... backclass...
              2. Advice..... must win for his wife...
              3. Hunter Creek/ Rivergrade Boy

RACE 5

Ron Ellis can flat out fire first time out of the gates with Centralinteligence. A son if Smarty Jones a good turf sire looks to be live here. This is a salty cast of first time starters and horses coming back off lay-offs. Loro has great connections with a hint of blue-blood pedigree for Moss and Shirreffs. He too can get them ready. Rock Offs by Rock Hard Ten ran a respectable debut. He should more forward with a race under his belt. Death Star a first timer looks very live for Shirreffs...who has two horses in this race. I like the first time starter Plea Agreement for Richard Mandella and Gomez rides this colt by Valid Appeal and Danzig.

               1. Centralinteligence
               2. Death Star
               3. Loro/ Rock Offs

Pick Three  5,6,8,10 with 4 with  3,4,5,7

RACE 6

       1. Dance Little Angel....meets modest field
       2. Abovetheinfluence....drops....
       3.  Marrymeonemoretime..... hung like a cheap suit

RACE 7          MANHATTAN BEACH STAKES

Mildly Offensive is bred for the turf. She is perfect two for two. She has for fast and solid for trainer Gaines. Pedaltothemetal I have followed since her first race last summer at Hollywood. She cuts back in distance. She has tactical speed and warrants respect. Mizdirection looked awesome crushing her rivals in her second career start at this track on turf. She might have found a home on turf. She gets the acid test on class but I think she is the scary horse in this race. The upsetter is Fifth Ave who beat Rumor in her debut state-side.

            1. Mildly Offensive..... perfect... key is the turf
            2. Mizdirection....... scary turf debut
            3. Pedaltothemetal.... tactical speed
            4. Fifth Ave. do not sell short

RACE 8             VANITY STAKES

I can envision the stretch run closely grouped together with a furlong to go. This is a small field but the best division the West Coast offers for fillies and mare.

1. Miss Match....Talamo rides for Neil today as Go-Go goes to Blind Luck. She looks great beating Switch at the wire two races back. She needs her A Game but has a good turn of foot down the lane.

2. St. Trinians...lost a heart-breaker ...DQ'ed.....was cearly the best gal in the race. Tab the switch from Talamo to Bejarano. She should be right behind Switch turning for home.

3. American Story......a daughter of Ghostzapper trained by Baffert as his main man rides this scary semi-lomgshot. Do not sell her short but she needs her best to take home all the marbles.

4. Switch.....has scary speed. Great season with a second in the Grade 1 Apple Blossom to Havre De Grace. She loves this track with four starts two wins and two seconds. She is a different more mature filly now.

5. She's Cheeky.....good news she is off the turf. She is a monster turf horse. She has not won on the cushion track yet. But she has tactical speed and ran a good looking race in Milady after getting hit down the stretch. I expect she might just out-run her double digit odds today.

6. Blind Luck........the talented million dollar filly... Great record and has been first or second in 11 starts. She needs to get into the bit early.....relax waiting and chillin then kick clear with a furlong to go sweeping around both Switch and St. Trinians. She will be picking off the field late down the lane.

               1. Switch
               2. Blind Luck
               3. St. Trinians
               4. American Story

RACE 9

Balladry trained by Harty gets off the turf after showing he can run with the big boys at Santa Anita. He looks prime to get his maiden win routing with P-Val re-riding him. His June 15th bullet shows me he is fit. Ultimate Eagle goes long after two respectable sprint races. He should love the added distance with his pedigree. One thing I hope you have learned reading my blog is never discount Baffert when it comes to maiden races. Coming Thru has been training super in the morning. Knucklebuster was hammered down by the public in his first career route race. It is hard to debut routing first time out. Take note that Bejarano the leading jockey re-rides.

           1. Balladry
           2. Knuclebuster
           3. Coming Thru
