Notes From The Racing Underground

The Hollywood Spring/Summer meet is coming to a close with 17 racing days remaining. Then off to Old Del Mar. Bob Baffert is leading the trainer's in the trainer title but barely because Mike Mitchell is only one win behind.

Night Tide looked awesome winning his debut for Baffert on Sunday. Night Tide is expected to start in the Hollywood Juvenile Championship on July 17th.

Sway Away returned to California for trainer Jeff Bonde edging out Da Ruler at the wire. Great to see Sway Away get back to the winner's circle.

Blind Luck trained by Jerry Hollendorfer won the Vanity over Switch. She was ridden by Garrett  Gomez. It was fun to watch both Switch and Blind Luck go head to head.

Trainer Vann Belvoir won his first race at Hollywood Park on Saturday with Macho Dorado. A former jockey that I have bet in the past rode 1,347 winners. He has been training since 1996. He is the son of Emerald Downs leading trainer Howard Belvoir. Vann is taking his small barn to Del Mar this year. This is great news for the public and the bettors.
