Golden State Cup at Hollywood Thursday

Thursday at Hollywood the feature race is the 70 G Golden State Cup at the distance of one mile on turf. The line-up includes :

1. Norvsky.... runner-up twice in second-level allowance races. Joel Rosario rides as Chantel Sutherland goes to Logical Single. He should have won his last race as he waited then waited more to kick clear getting a well deserved bad luck second. He shortens up in distance. He is the horse to fear for Warren Donald.

2. Renegade Storm.... Marty Jones trains as Gomez rides this closer. He needs to be more involved and in the bit early. The last time he won was at this distance. He will be closing.

3. Lucky Primo.....the speed of the race. Come Catch Me if you Can is the name of his tune. This race lacks speed and if he can get a uncontested early lead which it looks like on paper he just might be hard to collar down the lane.

4. Logical Single....racing against the boys here as fillies compete against fillies most of the time. Not Today. A five time winner.  This condition is restricted to Cal-breds..... who have not won or finished second or third in a graded stakes race. She won her last race and no-one in this field has won there last race. She should stalk behind Primo most of the race.

5. Nahem.....the winner of the Snow Chief Stakes two back. He faces older foes today. He looked awesome beating Woodman's Luck at the wire in the Snow Chief. This distance is ideal and he should sit right off the speed with Logical Single and Novsky.

6. Baton Roo...ships in from Golden Gate.... A four year old gelding trained by Andy Mathis.  Baton Roo looks live as Bejarano rides this horse who has a solid record of 3 wins out of seven career starts. Do not sell this dude short.
