Friday Night At Hollywood Park

                          HOLLYWOOD PARK

LOGICAL SINGLE BY DAVID MORANT

RACE 1

First level allowance route race ...... The pace looks to have First Strike stretching out from sprint to route. Balboa Bay drops then cuts back in distance. He should be in perfect stalking position to take this field. A coin flip between Brass Plate and Money Included..... Balboa Bay will be a short price colt. Nothing gets me excited in this race except maybe Quillotano. He like the cushion track. I might see how he looks on the main track tonight. He might be a play in the early pick three. He has faced much better company then these horses.

           1. Balboa Bay
           2. First Strike

RACE 2

One aspect that I like about Mike Mitchell is that he strikes when the iron is hot. Moreover, he puts a horse in a race that he can win unlike alot of trainers. Twodollarstowin is fit and in form with three straight wins. Her last two came at this track. Her main rival is on the outside....the four year old filly Appealing Afare. In a race with little speed going seven panels she stretches out in distance where she might find herself on the lead. The rabbit might be Knapps filly Hidden Romance with P-Val in the irons. She adds gas to the lead with Justincredible. The stalking cold stone closer is Twodollarstowin. She is the mare to beat at a very short price. Nothing gets me excited about this short field and very short odds. Rev Her Up won at this very condition at Hollywood in October. She is a player as well.
                 1. Twodollarstowin
                 2. Appealing Afare
                 3 Rev Her Up

RACE 3

A short field but a solid talented cast of runners sprinting on the turf. Pincelada is the speed of this race. She looks like she might be short down the lane. A player for sure. Excellent News drops in class to face N2X after running into Ultra Blend and Ladyrailrider. Her turf races have not been impressive. She gets the rail and should be stalking the speed. Warren's Blossom has been on my watch list. She is coming off a 4 month lay off with solid works. She is bred for the turf so I expect she will have no problem with the surface. Downhill Diva is another filly that fires fresh off the lay off. She warrants respect. The horse that is the X factor that wins races is Catch Lorraine the Northern California shipper. I like the Cee Tizzy pedigree on turf coupled with the high odds for trainer Phil Oviedo and Lopez.....She gets the acid test on class.... is the main conern. WinFor M'lou is the horse I bet last time out. She looked like a short horse that needed a race. She beat Pink Dimond and Separate Forest last summer at Del Mar. She has been on my watch list.

               1. Warren's Blossom
               2. Win For M'Lou
               3. Excellent News
               4. Catch Lorraine

RACE 4

A weak race and hard to trust any of this field but hear it goes..... The jack rabbit is Wicked Trip who might get a easy lead up front..... Come Catch this dude...... Make Someone Happy who exits a fairly good maiden race at Santa Anita betting Asuitable Attire finishing second. She should be in a great stalking position to close on the early speed down the lane. Dustbowl drops in class and race a so so first debut. She should move forward with these.  Dramatic Reward drops in price. She should love and I mean love the added distance with her pedigree. P-Val will try his best to put her in this race to win.

               1. Make Someone Happy
               2. Wicked Trip
               3. Dramatic Reward

RACE 5

It looks like Firebreak with Streets Of Heavens and Advice will most likely be the betting interest in this route race. I like Tiz True....

              1. Tiz True
              2. Advice
              3. Firebreak/Streets Of Heavens

RACE 6

A modest bunch of maiden's at the distance of one mile on the turf. Cat Talk and Romero Royale looks like the maidens preaking in form to run a winning race. Martin Jones usually has his horses run there best race second time out....so Dontshootthedeputy figures here after a race sprinting on the maintrack.  He is bred for the turf and distance. In a modest field like this you might want to take a very long look at the first time starter Zapateo...... can fire early with these connections. Maybe Minister D'Oro has found a modest bunch that he can beat....time is running out.....it's now with JR and Miller hooking up. Turn On The Pumps has good turf pedigree with hot connections....one race does not make a career. A player in this modest field.

     1. Turn On The Pumps
     2.  Minister D'Oro
     3.  Cat Talk/ Romero Royale
     4. Zapateo

RACE 7

Free Pourin looked great breaking his maiden special weight race at Hollywood. He has been off since Dec and drops in for a tag for 32G.... Red Hot Baffert sends out his main man to take the call. Courtside walked out of the gate last time out. He then was hurried to the front end pressing the pace. Tab the switch to JR who knows him well.

           1. Free Pourin
           2. Courtside

RACE 8

             1. What A Rush
             2. Besame Suances
             3. Tribal Desert
