Notes from the Racing Underground Happy Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANDICAPPERS CORNER

1 YEAR OLD TODAY

Notes from the racing underground...... The Kentucky Derby starts in less then two weeks and the field is wide open. As Bob Dylan sang years ago..... darkness at the break of noon .....shadows even the silver spoon... Eclipses both the sun and moon.... To understand you know too soon.... There is no sense in trying.... So don't fear if you hear a foreign sound to your ear...... It's Alright Ma...... I can make it...

Archarchurch, the son of Arch ...........winner of three races from six starts with a second and a third moved up on my derby top contender list. Other then both The Factor and Dialed In, Archarchurch is the only horse to win two Derby Preps since January 15th.

With this year or should I say this crop of three year-olds..... Dialed In remains the luke-warm favorite which doesn't mean a whole lot this year.

Colt's like J.P's Gusto, Uncle Mo and The Factor all have enough earnings to qualiify for the derby, but they might not make it due to injuries or decisions by their owners.

This next week will be a interesting time to envision who will be the contenders and the pretenders in the derby....
