Last Week- End at Hollywood Park

Update for Hollywood Park ..... This Thursday looks to be a fairly good card. One again this blog is one year old this week. I want to thank all the readers for supporting my blog. If you have any suggestions please email me or post them right on my blog.

The Factor who won the Rebel and The San Vicente Stakes will not run in the Kentucky Derby according to his trainer Bob Baffert. The owners said that The Factor might run either in the Met Mile or the Woody Stephens. I was one of his fans that thought he could get the distance...... The Factor will be fun to watch his races this year as he is a talented super colt with blazing speed.

Saturday in The B Thoughtful Stakes Ultra Blend ran down Lady Railrider in the stretch to win. Ultra Blend won her fourth stakes in five starts.  Ultra Blend a five year old mare by Richly Blended is trained by Art Sherman with Joel Rosario riding in the B Thoughtful. She had a perfect trip when she ran down the speed Lady Railrider by a length.   West Ruler was a well beaten horse in third. I bet $20 to place on Lady Railrider which paid a ROI of $24.00. Check out the race below.

In the Tiz Now Stakes Amazombie a pure six furlongs sprinter added a new dimensation to his racing style. He wired the field at a distance of seven and half furlongs making him one of the best sprinters if not the best sprinter on the west coast. He was never tested in this field of Cal-breds winning by two and half lengths. I bet $20 to place on Quick Enough who finished second paying $7.80.

On Sunday the two year old state bred baby race had Joyzey Bill trained by Freeman with Corey on the rail just got up to win at a distance of four and half furlongs. A great looking win.

Ninth Infantry trained by David Bernstein had this dude ready to rock and roll. He has been on my watch list....... with Sutherland closing on the turf the tote board lite up paying $21.40 to win. I blew it and put $20 to place and show....... which did return a positive ROI $184.00. No guts No Glory as the old adage goes.....

In the Inglewood H. Liberian Freighter held his form and looked awesome beating both Ryehill Dreamer and The Unusal QT.

LIBERIAN FREIGHTER BY DAVID MORANT

My best bet of the day was Pedaltothemetal who I have followed in her two races last year. She is a big talented filly that I expect will climb the class ladder this year for trainer Art Sherman. She paid a surprising $ 14.20 to win.........

My last bet of the day was horrible......... Steve Knapp is the kiss of death....... Diamond Journey who I thought would like the turf and would give a good account of himself in the nightcap sprinting for the claiming price of 25 G's. Boy was I wrong........ finished dead last for Knapp....... I learned that Steve Knapp is ice cold....... He needs to go back to the minor league.
