Gold Rush Days At Hollywood Park
GOLD RUSH DAYS HOLLYWOOD PARK
No bets last night as the Bank stays at $640.50
Race 1
The opener is a turf route race for the price of 40 G's. The speed looks fast and contested with Kris Silver, Gothic Samuri, No Stadium and J P Jammer winging it out on the front end. If this is the pace scenario then the fastest closer looks like Averoo, Red Alert Day and Asperity.
1. Red Alert Day 2. Averoo
Race 2 The B. Thoughtful Stakes
Ultra Blend smoked Evening Jewel and La Nez in her last race. She is trained by Art Sherman with Joel Rosario re-riding her. She cuts back in distance so beware she looks the fastest in the B Thoughtful Stakes. West Ruler pressed the pace with Separate Forest who came back and won last week. I expect in this race Bejarano will take her back and not get into a speed dual with Excellent News. Excellent News is the speed of this race. Lady Railrider is seeking her third straight victory. She has run with Ultra Blend and finishing right behind her on January 29th at Santa Anita Park. She can win on her best day. The upsetter who is three for three at Hollywood is Dan Reese. She gets the acid test in class. She is a improving daughter of Danzig. Cahlula One has back class! She should move forward big time after her last start. She is trained by Richard Mandella with Victor taking the call. I like her!
1. Ultra Blend 2. Lady Railrider 3.Chalula One
$20 Place on Lady Railrider
Race 3 The NTRA Stakes
Kingpin Ryno adds the blinkers for the first time. He should be out on the lead with Mr. Sierra. On My Honor shouble be able to kick clear of the speed turning for home. He earned by 87 Beyer speed figure which might be good enough to win this Cal- bred maiden race. Check out his last workout for Dan Hendricks. What A Rush exits the same race as On My Honor. He pressed the pace and weaken down the lane. He should move forward with a race under his belt. Bob Baffert's colt Red Tesla debut was not that bad as he ran into Comma To The Top. He was claimed for 50 G's at Del Mar for Bob Baffert. I expect he is a runner for that stable. The first time starter Single Jewel a son of Sultry Song out of the dam of General Meeting who has the win early pedigree to fire first time out. The dam has three starters and three winners.
1. On My Honor 2. Mr. Sierra 3. Red Telsa/What A Rush
Longshot Single Jewel
Race 4 The Tiznow Stakes
Seven and half furlongs on the cushion track completes the Tiznow Stakes. Amazombie exits a victory against open company in the Grade 2 Stakes race at Santa Anita Park. He will be closing turning for home. He looks on paper the horse to beat. A caveat here is the new distance for Amazombie.
The pace scenario looks to have Quick Enough, Vadetore, a Golden Gate shipper pressing the pace with Legal Separation. Leaving New York has speed and tactical speed to press the pace too! If the pace is slow enough it will not help both Bestdressed and Amozombie or Mobilized. Bestdressed claimed for 50 G's by Mike Mitchell got second in this race last year beating Mobilized.
1. Amazombie 2. Quick Enough 3. Mobilized
Bestdressed long look
Pick three
4th 1,2,4,5,9
5th 3,7,9,10
6th 1 Cost $20
$20 Place on Quick Enough
Race 5 Grey Memo Stakes
The Grey Memo Stakes is a seven furlong sprint on the cushion track. Adam Suances loves the cushion track. Rosario climbs off to go to Jerry Hoffendorfer's horse Master Chief. Liberal Arts a son of Tribal Rule looked great beating up on maidens in his last start. He faces winners for the first time. Sierra Spirit is the speed of this race but I have my doubts in him getting the distance. If he relaxes on the lead slowing down the factions I like his chances better. I like Sammy's A Runnin' coming back after a long lay off for trainer Art Sherman. He has put some good fast drills in him in the morning time. If he is fit and ready to rock and roll the distance should be ideal for him today!
1. Sammy's A Runnin' 2. Master Chief 3. Liberal Arts
$20 Place On Sammy's a Runnin'
Race 6 Warren's Thoroughbreds Stakes
A seven furlong sprint in the Warren's Thoroughbreds Stakes race has only two horses that have won more then two races. Subpoena The Dress and Melbisha. Georgia's Sweetie has been off for 10 months. She drop into a state restricted maiden race at Hollywood and won for Kathy Walsh. Check out her last three works. I expect that she might fire from the rail. She needs some racing luck to clear from the rail. Queenie Marie trained by Bob Baffert should improve off her last good looking finish. Safe Word switches surface a daughter of Benchmark. Look who takes the call... Joe Rosario!
1.Georgia's Sweetie 2. Queenie Marie 3. Subpoena The Dress
$20 Place On 1
Race 7 NTRA Stakes
Awesome Indy trained by Marty Jones who usually trains them slow in the morning time was over-looked by the public in his debut. He So Stylish looks to be the speed of the horses who have run. His debut warrants respect here. He is trained by Hoffendorfer with JR riding. He was eight clear of third in his last race. Beware! Crispy Corey cuts back in distance for David Flores. A player but needs to step up to win. The first time starter Tribal Ruler looks live as a live longshot. Crestatorre has not raced since last summer. He has been training excellent for his comebacker. P-V adds to the appeal.......
1. He So Stylish 2. Awesome Indy 3. Crestatorre
Pick Four 3,4,7 with 3,5,8,9 with 2 with 13 cost $6.00
Add the first time starter 2 with 3,5,8,9 with 2 with 13 ($2.00
Race 8 Melair Stakes
I loved the way Shezabigbroad won her debut. She look like she could run around the track again. The speed is Miles Rules... Come catch her in this race." Warren's Flyer can go the distance with Martin Pedroza having the choice to send to the lead or sit right off of Miles Rules. Frigid Bridget might be the upsetter as she too can get the distacne with her tactical speed.
1. Shezabigbroad 2. Miles Rules 3. Warren's Flyer
Race 9 Snow Chief Stakes
The Snow Chief Stakes fro three year olds at the tricky distance of one mile and a eight on the cushion track. There looks to be a ton of speed in this race. Offlee Wild Boy exits the Santa Anita Derby. He is starting to come around. Chiloquin exits the highly regarded race with Uncle Sam and the highly regarded future star Clark Lane. If he runs back to that race he will win.
1. Chiloquin 2. Drink At Buster's 3. Thirtyfirststreet.
Longshot Offlee Wild Boys
Race 10 Alphabet Kisses Stakes
A tough race to end Gold Rush Days in the nightcap. The favorite looks to be Alala with JR riding. A daughter of Salt Lake enters this maiden sprint with three races all showing good speed. She was hammered down by the betting public in her last start. She gets off the turf. Little Red Dress trained by a cagey trainer who hires Joe Steiner to ride this daughter of Unusal Heat sold for 70 G's. It's hard to really know what this guy has because of his modest works.... A contender or pretender...... check her out on the track before betting. My Brite Caroline had a trouble trip in her last start. Before that race she has strung together some nice prep races for her best start to date. Beware with Victor re-riding her. Butterfly Beach trained by the red hot Mike Puype at Santa Anita gets Joe Talamo to ride this daughter of Good Journey. She has some strong drills as a first time starter. The King of the North Russell Baze rides Swiss Gem for Mike Harrington. She showed in her debut at Del Mar some fast zip before fading. I expect she will move forward today. I like Cokecherymary who exits a highly regarded maiden race in her debut. She looks spotted in the garden spot from the outside post with Sutherland re-riding.
1. Cokecherymary 2. My Brite Caroline 3. Swiss Gem
Longshot Little Red Dress
