FRIDAY NIGHT AT HOLLYWOOD PARK

                     HOLLYWOOD PARK

Bank opening day was $250.00. I hit the late pick four and the late pick three. $20 place bet on the winner in the feature race. A $20 win and place on Thunder Of Zion in the nightcap. $250+ $390.50 equals $640.50. Bank Friday $640.50

Race 1

A short field of five opens the Friday Night racing. The pace scenario looks to have Star Navigator pressing the pace. This field looks evenly match. Star Navigator broke his maiden sprinting but has routed before. He was beaten by Quite An Honour on March 6th at a distance on one mile at Santa Anita Park. John Sadler has two three year olds in this starter allowance.  Brass Plate and Quite An Honour. Brass Plate exits a highly regarded maiden race two back when three horses came out of that race to break there maiden. Brass Plate has Joel Rosario the jockey title champion at Santa Anita riding. He exits a turf race when he walked out of the gate. He will be well bet here. Money Included claimed for $30K is knocking on the door at this level. He was beaten by Donato in his last start who did not hit the board yesterday as the favorite in a open seven furlong allowance yesterday in race four. Warren's Warehouse has stepped up on the turf in both of his starter allowance races. If he transfer this form to the cushion track then he is the upsetter over this short field.

    1. Star Navigator   2. Brass Plate  3. Quite An Honour

     Warren's Warehouse

Race 2

A $50K maiden sprint race on the main track for fillies and mares. Dangerous Angel trained by Vladimir Cerin exits the highly regarded open straight maiden race where Dazzling Display won on April 2th at Santa Anita. This is her second start and warrants respect for the win. Patrick Valenzuela re-rides her. A big time drop to collect. Not To Notty debut on the rail at Golden gate. She was well bet. She pressed the pace with Dove Forest who won. She drops in class for Craig Dollase.  Slane Castle switches to the cushion track after routing in straight maiden races. She might be better sprinting with Joe Steiner taking the call. She is a player! Warren's Extrasilk takes a hike up in class after pressing the pace at Fairplex Park. She has speed so do not discount the class hike. Joel Rosario teams up with Sadler in a first time starter Bobby Sox. Check out the tote board for clues........ she has modest drills with a trip to the vet board makes for mixed signals with her.

    1. Dangerous Angel  2. Not To Notty  3. Slane Castle

    Warren's Extrasilk  longshot

Race 3

The race came up void of any speed on the front end except Lea The Punisher and American Story.  Bob Baffert holds all the aces in this short field. American Story made her first start in five months at Sunland Park and finished a respectable second running into a buzz saw Twelve Twenty Two. She has two wins two seconds in four starts. Lea The Punisher has been freshen up for this comeback race for two months. She has tactical speed in a race with slow factions. She seems to be always game hitting the board in six out of her seven starts. Makoma broke her maiden over this track last fall beating Lea The Punisher. She is a lightly raced daughter of Malibu Moon who looks spotted for action at this level. Baffert's other filly Crisis Of Spirit is going long with Bejarano taking the call. She should be able to sit off the pace and hopefully do a fly by at the wire. She needs to step up with these fillies. Last year I thought that this filly ran some big time races then she tailed off at Hollywood. She might be better on the turf then the cushion track.

    1. American Story   2. Lea The Punisher  3. Makoma

Race 4

A wide open low level route race for the claiming price of 10 G's fits this bill. The logical choice is Easy On The Eye who is going for his fourth straight victory. The speed just might be Seven Secrets who pressed a fast pace sprinting. A sprint to route angle for trainer Jack Carava. Troubletimesthree will try to do his fly by at the wire. He seems to like the cushion track. Nitro Active gets the ground saving rail for trainer Knapp. He takes off the blinkers tonight. He should be pressing a hot and contested pace up front with Jack O' Latern. Jack adds speed to this route race with P-Val sending this one to the lead or right off the lead. He broke his maiden at this track two years ago. He likes the cushion track. A contender with a hint of a price at the windows.

    1. Easy On The Eye  2. Jack O' Latern  3. Seven Secrets

Race 5

A sprint with non winners of two for the claiming price of 25 G's.
Russian River trained by Mike Mitchell has the highest speed figures in the field. The logical choice to win. The pace scenario looks to have Seachi the speed with the maiden breaker Jacobita contesting the early lead. Jacobita exits a highly regarded maiden race when the second and third place horses out of that race came back and won. She will have a hint of a price... Do not take her lightly as she is seeking her proper level with winners. Milliondollarbill has been knocking on the door at this very level. She needs to step up and have some racing luck after a somewhat trouble trip in her last start at this level. A player! Stunningly has been off since 09 when she competed facing much better fillies and mares then these except Russian River. She is trained by Mike Puype who know a thing or two about getting a horse to fire after a long lay-off. He puts some solid drills into her for her comeback tonight. She will be picking off the horses turning for home if she is fit and ready. A longshot but still a contender in a wide open sprint race.

    1. Russian River  2. Stunningly  3. Seachi/Jacobita

Race 6

This race just might be the race with the best betting value of the night. The lineup includes:

1.  Causeithertz.....by Gaint's Causeway trained by Ascanio.... great guy!.... He was the beaten favorite in his last race finishing second. This four year old has the pedigree with Bejaranio taking the call to win.

2.  Forward Appeal takes off the blinkers for Dan Hendricks. A son of Valid Appeal has much appeal as he is stretching out in distance from a sprint. He finished second to Star Dance MD who came back and won a allowance race. A contender!

3.  Valuation trained by Craig Dollase got beat in his first race by Robbie The Cat a highly regarded stakes horse who got a game second yesterday in the Harry Hendson. A son of Danzig who should love the fast pace for a fly by at the wire.... Has a real shot to win!

4.  Squad a blue blood four year old trained by Proctor and owned by Glen Hill Farms. A head case that I thought would win earlier in his career.

5.  Unex Dali....... the beaten favorite in his last race. He pulled hard down the backstretch then just faded.......... do not give up too soon on this horse.

6.  Extra Fifty puts on the blinkers for the first time for AC. He should of won his last race flying at the wire with full of run.

7.  R U Experienced a Jimmy Hendrick's Tune from the 60's. A first time starter by the win early turf sire Rock Hard Ten..... Look who is riding this 20 to 1 morning line colt.... Patrick V.

8.  Lemou exits the race with Extra Fifty and Valuation and unex Dali.... He  was the rabbit of the race that just got collared at the wire by Robbie's War.

9.  Unbirdled Kimanchi trained by the deadly jockey trainer combo of Shirreffs and Smith......... A son of Unbirdled debuts was on dirt..... a classic prep for this race.... do not take lightly at double digit odds.

10. Tippety Tap Tap adds the blinkers tonight. He shortens up in distance.

11. Joker Face trained by Peter Eurton gets Joel Rosario to re-ride. He should love the added distance. Bad post but might be the one to fear at the wire. He should have won his debut.

  1. Causeithertz  2. Valuation 3. Extra Fifty/Joker Face

Race 7

A first level route allowance race takes off the blinkers which should have him pressing the pace from gate to wire. Samba School is the logical choice and warrants respect at this level. On paper she is the horse to beat. Toro Bonito trained by Baffert gets Victor to ride. She might be a better horse then what appears on paper. Dave's Revenge finally gets off the turf where she was not that good. She appears to be a better horse on this surface. Look who jumps aboard Bejarano. SC Song Girl had to need her prep last race. She should move forward in this route race. She has the tactical speed to win this race. Do not taker her lightly tonight. Lovetheway faces winners for the first time. She flew by beating up on Heidi Mari and Anniversity Girl. She has the right racing style for this first level allowance route.

     1. Bar Rock Omama  2. Samba School  3. SC Song Girl

     Lovetheway UR...

Race 8

A full bag of characters in the bottom level maiden sprint race.
Blind Magic has gas and should be winging it out on the lead with Martin Pedroza. He shortens up in distance. This sprint is void of any early speed except the favorite Blind Magic. The horse on the rail might be sent to the front Kessabtsi.... might be right behind Magic with Bobby N' Paradise who has been off for three months. on his best day he fits. The two other top contenders are Me Salty and Tuba Man. Tuba Man looks to have the best shot turning for home if Blind Magic meltsdown coming for home. Tuba Man is trained by Tim Yakteen who is hitting at 40%  with a class drop. The last time we saw Tuba Man was at Del Mar. He gets Bejarano with solid works for his comeback. Me Salty should be up the pieces. The unknown factor X horse is the maiden special weight horse taking the big time drop to the basement bottom.... Mike Smith jumps off Wheels Of Justice..... who was vanned off .... and comes back with Corey piloting this son of Lit De Justice....mixed signals because his wheels came off in his debut.

    1. Blind Magic  2. Tuba Man
