FRIDAY AT SANTA ANITA PARK

             SANTA ANITA PARK

             BANK $3,502.00

Race 1

Lucky Fitz looks to be on the lead after putting on the blinkers he won at a slightly lower level. He did drift in the lane which I do not like to see. Gilligan at this level looks spotted for action for Mike Mitchell. Joe Talamo rides and he has been red hot of late. Boulder Creek puts on blinkers for the first time. He drops in class. A interesting longshot where he just might wake up. Tis has never faced this low level after breaking his maiden last year. Eddie Truman puts the bug boy on this interesting new face. Courtside Action look great almost getting to Mr. Saturday Night. Any improvement will make  Courtside Action a scary horse down the lane.

    1. Courtside Action  2. Boulder Creek   3. Gilligan

    Longshot Tis

$20 to Place on Boulder Creek

Race 2

Zippin E with Dextera will battle it out on the front end. Feed A Fever has tactical speed to sit right off the leaders turning for home. This race sets up for a closer or mid-pack horse right off of the speed. Powerofvoodoo with Sutherland riding might fit this bill.

     1. Zippin E   2. Powerofvoodoo

Race 3

Interesting race on turf sprinting down the hill. Candys Girl trained by James Lloyd gets Patrick Valenzuela. She looks to have speed with a excellent pedigree to win this race. The first time starters the blue-bloods on turf both loom large Ringmistress and Star Billing. Both have the turf pedigree and both have solid workouts in the morning to make them contenders. Blue Grass Music with a race under her belt owned  by Glenn Hill Farms should have a major improvement having only been beaten by 4 lengths first time out. The filly by Blushing Groom Rahima has the turf pedigree to make her scary. Her works are average but Cecil can gets them to rock and roll first time out. She does get the cozy outside post for her debut.

         1. Ringmistress   2. Candys Girl  3. Blue Grass Music

Race 4

Seth The Candeyman just might try to steal this race on the front end. There seems to be a easy pace in this race not like previous races he has run with. The same can be said of Don Elias M. These are my top contenders to beat Syllubus and Belo Purse. Lord Avalon is dropping out of the sky for Mike Chambers. If sound and fit he fits. Wild Hombre is facing winners for the first time after breaking his maiden. He is not facing any world beaters in this race.

        1. Seth The Candeyman/Don Elias M

Race 5

Great betting nongraded stakes race sprinting down the hill. Regally Ready got beat on New Year's Day at the wire by Dilemma. He has beat some of this field before. A major player ! But this field is highly regarded with Kelly Leak who looked great winning a high level allowance field. He fits and has a big look.

The field of runners has a shot to win this race. Blue Chagall shortens up to try the hill. He should be putting together a closing kick at the wire. Noble Court is making a comback start with JR in the irons. He has a good chance to win this. Leroy's Dynameaux a horse I picked his last race was coming off a six month lay-off. He had to need that race and I expect with Bejarano in the irons this stone cold closer fits this down the hill turf race. He can win! Daytona rarely runs this low. The last time I saw this dude was the Breeders Cup Mile in 08 at Hollywood. If fit then beware!

      1. Leroy's Dynameaux   2. Blue Chagall 3. Regally Ready

Kelly Leak look great last race!

$20 Place on LeRoy's Dynameaux

Race 6

A tough race with three year old fillies sprinting for the claiming price of $25K. Most of the betting action will be the filly on the rail Gladiatrix. She is trained by Bob Baffert who this year has been red hot. She had the rail her last race at a higher level but faded. She has speed to her outside Coy Princess who exits a key maiden race beating two fillies that came back and won. Her first entry starter allowance race was disappointing to say the very least. Dan Hendricks has put two solid workouts into her ....one being a bullet of the day at five furlongs. At the morning line of 20 to 1 she just might be a good filly to put on your rolling pick three and pick four. Clubhouse Rules did not beat much in breaking her maiden. No Afillyation has speed with tactical speed as well. She is a player. Miss Marsha Lee gets the bug boy. She has speed and her prior races except her last one puts her in the mix. She is no throw out. I like the class hike on Diamond Journey by Knapp. It looks like today Alonso is on some live horses after going thru his 0 for 50 without a win except the big race last Saturday on Pegasus. Gladiatrix is the horse to beat but she needs to clear from the rail.

   1. Gladiatrix   2. Coy Princess  3. Diamond Journey

    Longshot Miss Marsha Lee

Late Pick Three      1,2,4,5 with 7,8 with  2,6,8

Race 7

Akkadian just looked awesome when he was in hand beating up on maidens. The son of Tiznow trained by Julio Canani looks to have a budding rising star in his camp. This is a tough entry level allowance race with some unknown Imports with Hollywood Heist and Drink At Buster's. Devil At Ten drops in class after facing better. Check out Great Warrior the import from Brazil..... working lights out for AC and Berrio rides

    1. Akkadian   2. Great Warrior  3.Dr. Green

     Longshot Major Art

$20 place on Great Warrior

Race 8

Bell Blitz gets the ground saving rail at the distance of seven furlongs. He will be closing with Martin Pedroza re-riding. Answer To Abby trained by Danny Velasquez adds blinkers having just missed at this level his last race. A player if the maiden special weight dropper misses. Isthmus takes a free fall from the maiden special weight company to face this modest field. He is trained by Eoin Harty and the deadly trainer/jockey combo hook up here. The first time starter Trastevere has a series of good looking works fro Mike Puype with Garrett Gomez taking the call. He does not face any real monsters in this modest group of maidens. Our Senior Moments second race for a trainer that fires second time out Clifford Sise. Our Senior Moment should love the added distance with Alonso Quinonez taking the re-ride. He looks realistically placed at this level and a fast track today.

        1. Our Senior Moment 2. Answer To Abby 3. Isthmus

        First time starter Trastevere
