SATURDAY AT HOLLYWOOD PARK

                   HOLLYWOOD PARK

Race 1        Six Half Maiden Claimer 32K

Another weak...... and I mean weak field of $32K maidens fill the first card in the final two weeks at Hollywood Park.
As for horses that have raced, Marcoman trained by Mendoza did show speed and pass a few horses down the lane. I'm surprised of the quality of entries at this level. Another very weak field.  Pure Distinction by Storm Cat gets a jockey upgrade under Martin Pedroza. I like the morning workouts. I expect with a first race under his belt he should show major improvement. Destined Journey has ran races at Fairplex that makes him a slight contender. Score For Fun is a head case in the afternoon. He works steady in the morning then is a complete bust at the races. Maybe he can put it all together. As for first time starters look at Eddingtonforgianna he has the pedigree to win early on this circuit.

   1. Marcoman  2. Eddingtonforginna  3. Pure Distinction

Longshot Warren's Treasure look good warming up!

Race 2        Five Furlongs Turf Tyson Stakes

At five furlongs it might not matter but Quick Enough has beat Cost Of Freedom at Del Mar on August 18th. But having said this Cost Of Freedom has become one of the top sprinter's on the West Coast. Square Deal is the other contender trying to beat Cost Of Freedom.

   1. Cost Of Freedom   2. Quick Enough  3. Square Deal

Race 3        One Mile Turf Allowance

A tough contentious turf race as Jet Blue Girl ran a good race at Oak Tree getting third behind Hemera, a very talented horse. She has been off since October and sports a excellent workout tab getting her prepared for action. Joel Rosario a new rider takes the call. A filly that can win this race. Lea The Punisher put it all together and broke her maiden first time on turf and first time going a route race. She faces tougher company here but do not dismiss this live filly. Tiz A Bud Girl smoked a starter allowance field on this course on November 12th. She was impressive that day. If she runs back to her last race she looks scary to me for a win. The upsetter is Money Lover  who had a hard time her last race walking out of the gate then getting steadied down the backstretch which took her out of the race.

Race 4        Six Half Maiden 25K

The top contenders:  Lead Blocker, Warren's Concept and Roaring Rick on the lead with Quietly Waiting and Swongs picking up the pieces. If Lead Blocker runs like he did in his debut he should win. Tab the chance in jockey's! P-Val takes over! The lonshot upsetter is Quietly Waiting. He has been freshen up and makes his first start since September. He shortens up and has the ability to close at this distance. If the speed melts down any slight improvement puts this horse in the hunt.

     1. Lead Blocker  2. Warren's Concept 3. Q. Waiting

Race 5        One Mile Sixteenth Turf Claimer 32K

El Merito exits a tough $50K claimer after almost one and half years off. He was beaten by only 2 lengths on October 16th. If he runs back to that race this dude has back class and can win this race. He takes a drop in class! Beware! The horse I fear is Nitro Active who last year ran races with the likes of Dewey's Special. He has been off the shelve. The main question is one of fitness but Bejarano takes the call. Do not dismiss Nitro Active in this spot. This race is wide open. The rail horse Swift Winds has the ground saving rail and at this level of condition is scary.

    1. El Merito  2. Nitro Active  3. Swift Winds

Race 6        Six Half Furlongs Maiden Special

Canadian Pride exits the best 2 year old filly race of the year....bar none!  Six winner's have come out of this race and won including Turbulent Descent who races today. Today it looks like seven fillies. Check out her last race with Turbulent Descent. She has solid drills to get her ready for her diploma. Tiz The Route by Cee's Tizzy has two races under her belt. Cee's Tizzy babies usually need a race or two. She looks live with her morning drills which are solid and strong. A contender with double digit odds. My Diane tried the turf and that did not work out for her. She switches to the main track. Beware I expect her to improve with a bullet workout on Dec. 4th makes me believe that she is a major contender. As for first time starters Tarnisha trained by Paddy G. has the win early pedigree to take a look at her during pre-warm up before the gate opens. Hard To Resist has great turf pedigree so I will tab her later for the turf. Look.... it looks like a smasher for Canadian Pride but still these are 2 year old fillies ...........so.......

    1. Canadian Pride  2. Tiz A Route  3. My Diane

Race 7        Six Furlongs Claimer 12K

Dos Veinte looks fit and in form therefore on the upswing. She was claimed last time out by Michael Pender and is in jail taking the class hike up in class for 10K to 12K. Misinjennuous is seeking the hat trick. She loves the cushion track. A Major Player on the win end. Pretty Kinzie will be picking up the pieces again. The horse to fear on the class drop is Yankee Romance who has speed. She has faced much better company then these horses. She has not race since October 1st. She looks live and ready for a big performance by Joe Talamo who is red hot!

        1. Yankee Romance

.

Race 8        Six Furlongs Turf Optional Claimer 25K

A tough wide open sprint on the turf for low level claiming price. Lit'sgoodlookngray gets out of jail and jumps up 2 levels by his trainer. Might be a good sign! Why the drop for Mr. Tokyo..... who comes in sharp with a good looking win and a second in 3 starts. Don Perico drops off a good looking second by Marty Jones. Joel Rosario takes the call. This race looks awfully tough to land on one horse. A Plus Topper adds the blinkers and has tactical speed to clear from the outside post postition. He's A Dance Star looked great breaking his maiden at Fairplex. He ran a good looking race his second start after walking out of the gate and pulled the jockey down he backstretch. John Sadler trains and Gomez over for Joe Talamo. On class and speed figures Mr. Tokyo is the horse to fear!

     1. He's A Dance Star  2. Lit'sgoodlookngray

     3. Detroit Danny

Race 9        Hollywood Starlet Grade 1

    1. Tell A Kelly    2. Turbulent Descent 3. Zazu

    Longshot look Nina Fever

Race 10      Six Furlongs Maiden Special

Shelter Cove with speed looms large for getting his diploma in the final race as he gets back on the cushion track. I like two first time starter as well. JoeTalmo is on Shred The Secrets who is just burning up the cushion track in the morning time. He look live to me. And if you read my blog I like the sire of Tapit and Tapfortexas fits this bill.

    1. Shelter Cove  2. Shred The Secrets  3. TapforTexas
