FRIDAY AT HOLLYWOOD PARK

                   HOLLYWOOD PARK

Race 1      One Mile Sixteenth Claimer 12K

A field void of any early speed except Zippin E. The City Zip filly draws the inside post position allowing Joe Talamo to get a easy lead. She just beat a weak field of maiden's. No lock or value with Zippin E. Sambista trained by Sahadi took the blinker's off two races back and shocked the field her last race getting a respectable second at double digit odds. Can she put two good races back to back? Simply Put was a classic bounce her last race. I expect a major turnaround today down the stretch. P-Val rides is a good signal. The 5 year old mare Ellie L. ridden by Nicole Shinton has a solid chance to get her first win at the meet. She is a contender in this weak route race on Today's card.

   1. Zippin E.  2. Ellie L. 3. Simply Put

    Longshot  Sambista

Race 2      Six Furlongs Claimer 12K

This is a contentious sprint for the claiming price of 12K dollars. The speed looks like Warren's Dove which is trained by Peter Miller. He drew the outside post position and takes a class hike in price. Purse Luva two races back won at this condition. He stepped up in class and bounce! A contender on the win end if he is not tailing off in form. Mesa Thunder is the horse to fear if his wheel's are in one piece. If he is fit and sound then bomb's away! A good value bet if he looks good during pre-race warm up. It looks to me that the rail horse Boston Bake Bean is a pretender. Pass on him but but each and every other horse in this race has a chance to win! Fire In The Wind gets the longshot cagey trainer Grayson who in the past has lite up the tote board. Big Bad Boo looks in form and fit. He can clearly win this race. A real open affair.

Race 3      One Mile Sixteenth Maiden 25K

The lowest level of bottom feeder's going a route. On paper it looks like  Good Friday Gal which did pass horses down the lane to pick up a check for getting second. I would not quit my day job with this one. Candy's Affair shows up from maiden special weight to feed on this group. She is from Candy Ride which tells me that she has the pedigree and class to win this weak race. She can win by 5 or she might just be ..... also ran type here!  Born To Breed looked OK racing at Fairplex. She does have some gas in the tank.  Warren's Matchmaker might wake up and find a field that she can compete at.

Race 4      Five Half Optional Claimer 40K

Stoneside switches surfaces from the turf to the main track. He is trained by Julio Canani and Gomez takes the mount. He is coming off a one race short lay off. He looks spotted for a big performance. It looks like it has been a long time if ever that he has run this low in claiming price. He has face much better company. A Lil Dumaani ran against Cost Of Freedom and Amzombie which came back and won last weekend. He is trained by Peter Miller and JR who had 4 winner's yesterday gets the call. A scary horse down the lane. Moonlark added blinkers his last race in which he finished third. He has the tactical speed with Bejarano at the controls to close strongly down the stretch.  Joel Rosario jumps off and goes to the Peter Miller gelding. I have been waiting for Galleta Monstruo to run after he was claimed his last race by Doug O'Neil. He still in claiming jail and takes a hike up in class. The public will overlook this live longshot..... do not just dismiss him.

   1. Stoneside  2. A Lil Dumaani  3. Galleta Monstruo

Race 5      One Mile Sixteenth Turf Claimer 32K

It looks like the pace scenario will be Seattle Ruler hooking up with Ranger Heartley on the hot contested lead. If this does happen then the race sets up for a horse coming off the pace. Seattle Ruler adds additional distance today. I expect he will get tested by Ranger Heartley. Keen Bidder looks scary as the closer down the lane. The blinkers come off today for Keen Bidder to get him to focus and hopefully reel in the rabbits at the wire. All systems look like a go.

   1. Keen Bidder 2. Ranger Heartley  3. Battle School

Race 6      Six Half Furlongs Maiden Special Weight

A good race to start a Pick three!  The obvious contender and the horse to beat is Chapman's Peak. He ran an awesome race with Alcindor on October 23rd. As you all know Alcindor then smoked by field of guys on the rail 2 weeks ago. He earned a Beyer speed number of 102. But this is not a one horse race and Lichenstein has run faster then Chapman's Peak. He earned a Beyer speed figure of 94 after almost a year long lay off. He needs a slight improvement or if he runs back to his last race he can win this. Recap sold for $300,000 was well back a year ago at Oak Tree. Check out his morning drills getting prepared for his second race by John Shirreffs. He adds the blinkers today and employs P-Val to ride. He is bred to be a talented special horse so just do not just dismiss in the Pick Threes. Check out Temp who is trained by Bob Baffert and was well bet in his debut finishing second. The speed figures are slower then the top contenders but any improvement today puts him in the hunt for the diploma. This is one of the best fields of maden special weight horses I have seen this year at Hollywood. As for any first time starters the horse trained by Ron Ellis looks live to me. He has pick a tough spot to make his debut in. Any horse sired by Tapit who has lately been one of the country's top sire you need to look at. Tap It In looks live as a first time starter.

     1. Chapman's Peak  2. Temp  3. Tap It In

Race 7      Six Furlongs Turf Allowance

Last year Cardiff Giant as a 2 year old had talent coupled with high 2 year old speed figures. He faces no real monsters in this turf sprint allowance race. Dahoud looks like the speed of this sprint race. The trainer or jockey I do not know but Cardiff Giant was claimed away from Jorge Periban 5 months ago. He has been firing bullets for his comebacker today. If he is fit and ready I love the fact that as a 2 year old he fits with these older rivals on class and numbers. It also is a bonus that the morning line is 15 to 1.

   1. Cardiff Giant  2. Smokey Lonesome 3.Dahoud

Race 8      Five Furlongs Maiden 32K

   1. Suances Flower/Suances Sweetheart
   2. Ever Ask Me Again
   3. Indiana Nana

The Vienna-trained entry of SUANCES FLOWER and SUANCES SWEETHEART look live. I love the pedigree of Ever Ask Me Again and check out her workouts getting ready to rock with Martin Pedroza taking the call. I have to respect the win early pedigree of Indiana Nana trained by Mike P. and the red hot Joe Talamo takes over.
