SATURDAY AT HOLLYWOOD PARK

ZENYATTA BY D.MORANT

Thank you Zenyatta for giving me the thrill of a lifetime watching you run your heart out! Words fall by the wayside in what you have given to this wonderful sport that we all love............!!

                      ZENYATTA  WE LOVE YOU!

See you Sunday at the track...............

Race 1      Six Half Furlongs Maiden 40K

A weak field of maidens with the runners showing little speed. Warren's Rough Luv with Skimming Skipper might be the horses on the lead. The rest of the field look like plodder's to me. Clocker Moment switches from the turf to the main track. The last time Sam Semkin and Victor hooked up was 2 weeks ago with Mrs. Hi Card who ran a big race. Tab the trainer and jockey combo. The drop in class might help. This field is so weak that the morning line on the first time starter is 8 to 5. I cannot recall the last time I saw a first time starter with odds that low. Red Rock Run trained by Jeff Mullins has some decent workouts. Joe Talmo takes the call. Pass on the race.

Race 2      Six Half Furlongs Maiden 40K

It looks to me that we have three contenders all trying to get there diploma sprinting. Polished Nickel debut he ran a respectable third stalking the pace. This time around the drop from open straight maidens to 40K is quite a drop. We have seen this trick before by Thomas Proctor who is hitting at 20% with his stable. Call Me Later looks live he likes the cushion track getting four seconds....... his last race was for a slightly higher claiming price. He is trained by Hendricks and JR takes the mount. He looks like he is spotted for action with this field. Got Milch was claimed first time out for Cerin for 50K. He ran a respectable first race in a open company turf race. He looks like the upsetter in this field.

Race 3      Six Half Furlongs Maiden 32K

Portland beat Real Rockport in there last race on November 11th.  It looks like Portland has the edge over her today.  Portland looks scary for the win. If The Zapana can break cleanly from the gate she has shown speed and tactical speed to clear and be in the hunt with the two top contenders. A player here! A interesting live filly is the horse from up north .... Emily Pearl........... trained by a old timer in the race game.......January Elmer. Do not dismiss her on this circuit!

Race 4      Six Half Furlongs Claimer 20K

Our Bellini Bilini is seeking the hat trick. She is fit and in form coupled with the fact that she can be on the lead or stalk the pace if need be. She loves the cushion track and Pedroza knows her well. The horse to beat! Fairway Road had a ton of trouble her last race and should have won the 20K claimer sprint race at Oak Tree. She is peaking and is deadly at this level. She almost beat Movie Duty two races back which is hard thing to do lately. Candy's Pleasure will be sent to the lead by P-Val. She looks like P-Val will go fast and tell the field "Come Catch Me if You Can". This Candy Ride filly looks to have a uphill climb getting by the two top contenders today. Paleo drops in class facing much faster foes then these.  She has never raced at this low of condition before.....so take note! Tab the jockey in sticking with her at this level today! She will be flying late trying to reel in the speed. It is about time that A.C. drops Led Advantage to a level that she might just compete at. David takes the call. A interesting filly at this level.

Race 5      One Mile Turf Maiden Special

After looking at this race the new face from England looks scary to me. Unex Dali will be bet....... maybe overbet and might need a race. If not, then he is the horse to beat. He race third in a field of 16 runners in his debut. His father was a top miler on grass. This field is not strong so maybe the Candy Ride colt will take to the new surface.... Quail Hill trained by Hoffman and Pedroza stick with him. Check out his workouts and I like the breezing last work out. Including Wardo adds blinkers and tries the sod after finishing strong his last race. The Broad Bush colt relishes this surface........ a major contender and player on the win end. Popular Cause tries a new game........ the turf. He has gas and the pedigree looks strong to love the turf and distance. He is a player! The rail horse Parable came flying late in his debut getting a respectable third......any improvement puts him over the top!

    1. Unex Dali  2. Parable  3. Quail Hill

Race 6      Six Half Furlongs Claimer 25K

A tough sprint race ...... with contenders and few pretenders in the sixth race today. River Glow a lightly race 7 year old.... hard to believe.... has speed and has tactical speed as well. She was claimed for 25K by Ted West. She drops from class to restricted company today. She is a contender! The horse in top form might just be Church Avenue. She has won at two lower conditions and now takes a hike up in class. A positive sign! I like the rail 3 year old who takes on older today. Butch Marino needs a better trip then last time. She faced open company at the 25K level. She can both be on the front end or sit right off the pace and reel in the speed if she wants to. She is versatile. I expect her to give a good account of herself from the opening bell.

     1. Butch Marino  2. Church Avenue  3. River Glow

Race 7      One Mile Turf Optional 25K

Gotham Devil has been freshen up for this miler on the turf for a optional claiming price of 25K dollars. The distance is ideal for him. He fires best when he is fresh. Harty and P-Val team up........ I like the morning line of five to one on this horse. He is my pick in the race.

    1. Gotham Devil

Race 8      Native Diver H.

Dakota Phone the hard knocking gelding gets the high weight and makes his 12th start of the year. The millionaire has 6 wins in 32 career races. He is the horse to beat.

     1. Soul Candy  2. Aggie Engineer  3. Romp

Race 9      Five Half Furongs Claimer 8K

I can hear the people laughing but the whole field looks open to me. I landed on a horse that has not run since May........ Matt Garcia takes the mount..... and he is capable of lighting up the tote board with Poetic Riches..... the horse to fear if Poetic Riches happens to be a also run is Ann's Seven!

          1. Poetic Riches
