Ending Saturday Bank is $4098,50
Race 1 Six Furlongs Claimer 16K
Yasuda claimed by Valadimir Cerin had a night mare trip her last outing. She as blocked then was almost stopped then she could find room then she swing out five wide and won by a tad. The pace scenario looks like Movie Duty is the only speed in a race void of any fast factions. Remember that Yasuda beat her in her last race with having a might mare trio. Can Movie turn the tables.....yes because this race unlike her last race had speed on the front end. This race appears to have slow factions and if Movie Duty can slow down the early faction's she might be hard to collar down the lane. My main concern is Movie Duty's falling speed figures and maybe she has the for sale sign around her neck for Doug O'Neil. Miss Seamless trained by Doug O'Neil and ridden by the hot Joe Yalamo she a sprinter not a route horse. She fits at this level and has talent. She is lightly race and I expect that she might reel in the leaders at the wire at double digit odds. A great value play in the place pools. Check out her morning drills and if she can repeat her drills in this first race she is a live long shot!
A good Value Play Miss Seamless
Race 2 Six Furlongs Claimer 8K
A low level bottom feeders that it is hard to trust anyone in this field. I like Stroppy because this race is filled with speed. She can wait then reel in the cheap speed down the lane. I might make a place bet on Stroppy if her odds go higher and the bet would be a good value play. Ann's Seven claimed by one of the best has the speed figures and right tactical style to be a value bet'
1. Stroppy 2. Ann's Seven
$20 Place on Anne's Seven ROI $58.00
Pick three 6,7,8 with ALL with 7 Cost of Ticket $18.00
Race 3 Six Half Maiden Special Weight
A great race to bet and watch....... What jumps out on paper is Bob Baffert's million dollar yearly Temp by Mr. Greenly.........looks like all systems are a go! Indian Jones is coming back after a six month lay-off. His first race he showed speed if he gets a clean break without pulling under P-Val he can win this race at double digits odds. I like this one. A interesting second timer is Pleasant Earth who has speed and I expect he will improve with a race under his belt. It the first time starter Temp needs a race then Kate's Event trained by Jerry Hollendorfer looks live and acts live with a series of blazing drills in the morning. Victory With Honor has a excellent work out tab for a come backer. His first start and he almost beat Concord Point. A Cee Tizzy baby needs a race or two to fire and this is the race. A wide open race with many blue bloods with excellent work outs and a real competitive race to watch. Maybe a future super star in the makings.
1. Temp 2. Indian Jones 3. Kate's Event
Victory with Honor the horse to fear with Temp
.
Race 4 One Mile Sixteenth Turf Optional
A wide open turf route race. I pick Miguel's Mascot last month in a similar state-bred allowance race. He was ranked from the sound of the bell. He shuffled back on the backstretch and then was steadied. This race sets up perfect for him because he has gas and if the jockey sends him he will have a say in the outcome of this race. Unusual Smoke has faced and beat tougher field then this NIX $25K claimers for Cal-breds. It looks like the classic bounce but having said this he is the fastest and has the back class to win this at very short odds. Your Call! The horse that I like is Mega Heat look looks better if you watch the replays. He broke slow then got killed in traffic and then faded to last. He one week is not too much for him I have waited fro Mega Meat to get on the turf and go two turns. Alley Hondro trained by the best Ron Ellis who is having a off meet is stretching him out to two turns. He fits and is improving in form and should love the turf today because of his turf pedigree top to bottom. Please do not take Alley Hondro lightly!
1. Megan Heat 2. Alley Hondro 3 Miguel's Mascot
Race 5 Five Furlongs Maiden
I like the first time starter Pure Distinction trained by Michael Mollica who can get them to fire first time out, I love the works outs along with the pedigree a two year old Florida bred by Storm Cat.
The horse dropping is Basic Strategy and adds blinkers and shortens up to five furlongs......If he gets loose on the front end he might be hard to reel in at very short odds. No value bet!
1. Pure Distinction 2 Basic Strategy 3. Love Five Plus
live FTS is Dulce Con Leche Beware!
Race 6 Five Furlongs Turf Optional
This race has speed a three front runners Winter Camp, El Scorpio and Sea Of Pleasure. Sea Of Pleasure is the speed of the speed. El Scorpio can wait and then reel in the front runner. At this distance the front runners might not give it up on the wire but if they do then Blue Jay Attack is class act who has talent and with a awesome killer closing kick at the wire. The distance is my main concern but he reeled in the speed from off the pace to defeat this condition his last race going six furlongs. Winter Camp will be right off the pace and I have followed this talented horse and this summer going five furlongs won on grass. Like I said this pace scenario can go into a hundred weird ways. Smokey Lonesome looks fit and ready after the lay off,
1. Smokey Lonesome 2. Blue Jay Attack 3.El Scorpio
$20 Place on Blue Jay Attack ROI $10.00
Pick four 50 cents 1,7 with all except 8 and 9 with 2,5,7 with 5,7,12 Cost of Ticket $87 minus 87
Race 7 Six Furlongs Maiden Special Weight
A fun race and a great betting race for colts. Robbie The Cat has talent and is returning from July where he ran awesome race getting second. Beware Richard Mandella has few babies in his barn and when he sends them out they are ready to rock and roll! Switzers Da Man was on the rail in his debut and has a hard time rating and relaxing but finished a respectable race in October at this very track. The colt that has the best sire right now in the county is Tapid!
Gifted Prince acts like a runner who can win this race. I might make a small bet on this first time starter. Coil adds blinkers for a new trainer Bob Baffert and should show improvement with the equipment change.
1. Quail Hill by Candy Ride 2.Gifted Prince 3. Robbie
Late Pick three 1,4,5,10,11,12 with 2,5,7 with 5,7,12
Minus 54 plus the pick four negative $87 = $141 +$18= a negative balance of $160 .... ROI Ann's Seven $58+ ROI $10+$68 plus the bet of Temple City ROI $62.00 equals $130.00 negative bank of $30 dollars right ow!
.
Race 8 Hollywood Turf Cup One Mile Sixteenth
Eight horses enters this classy Hollywood Turf Cup Race.
1. Treat Gently is the one to beat
2. Where's The Remote a runner up to Champ Pegasus
3. Temple City Can Win this race she is a turf horse!!!
$20 Place and Show on Temple City DD 2 and 3 with 5,7,12
ROI $62.00
Too much early money on Unusual Suspect that I knew he had a chance but Temple City was game!
Race 9 Six Half Maiden 25K
I like three horses....... A first time starter.... Subtle Creek trained by Bell who is having a hot meet with limited starters. Another first timer by Mark Tsagalakis great pedigree at this level Forest Beauty.
The one I fear is Warren's Movie Maker who might not stop today.
1. Warren's Movie Maker 2. Subtle Creek 3. Forest Beauty
$20 across the board on Subtle Creek ROI $218 minus cost of the ticket which was $12 equals $206 minus the negative bets today which was $30 equals Save my beacon ROI $ 176.00
Daily Double with three horses ...................... Good luck!
See you Sunday and thank positive!!!
