The Turf Festival at Hollywood Park saw thrilling stretch runners that brought out the best at Hollywood this past weekend. I think the most awesome performance was Bob Baffert's horse Alcindor who just smoked the field on the rail drawing clear to win by more then seven and half lengths.
The Hollywood Derby was won by Go-Go flying wide for a narrow win with Art Sherman's colt Haimish Hy. Graham Motion sent out the winner of the Matriarch for Team Valor. JR riding with Gypsy's Warning reeling in the speed moving three wide turning for the wire then drew out in deep stretch for the win.
In the Citation Victory's Cry with Victor Espinoza motored home with a ground saving rail trip to upset the field. In deep stretch the field was running for second as Victory's Cry was much the best.
The Generous Stakes Comma To The Top wired the field posting his fourth straight win. Corey Nakatani guided this juvenile gelding and he looked great......... much the best in this field.........
I love the maiden win of Neversaidiwassweet. She wore down the rabbit in deep stretch in the Miesque to post her first graded stakes win.
No surprise that Cost Of Freedom won in the Vernon Underwood. This week Hollywood starts on Wednesday with a full week of racing........... see you at the races!
