Bank $2001
As the old adage goes I hit the Late Pick 4 and Late Pick 3 and even a Blind Squirrel can find a nut or 2. The Bank is 2001 plus sending back the seed money of 500 dollars to where it belongs under my pillow. Good Luck my readers if there is any one out there in Cyber-land. I started this Bank 18 days ago. I will start posting a Pick Six Ticket a small ticket.
Race 1 Six Half Furlong Maiden (40K)
About time Koolnquick drops from the waters of Maiden Special Weight and tries a easier group. She will set the pace and tell her rivals come catch me if you can. James Cassidy's horse Oak Kye Why a cool name catches my eye as He might be a runner with Victor gliding him. Those are the two horses I like.
$20 Place on Oak Kye Why
Pay $11 to place ROI $90 + $2002 = $2092
Race 2 One Mile Turf Claimer (25K)
I might give Attar Of Rose another free pass because she threw her head and acted like a spoiled kid in her last race warming up to the gate. I like the pedigree Roberto going one mile on the turf. Brooke's Fantasy is my other choice. Why the fire sale on Apt To Be Amazing........ cannot dismiss! Apt looks live and trying to get her first win in Southern California.
Race 3 Six Half Furlong Allowance
Tough Race! Will the real sprinter please stand up... and that seems to be fund Raiser on the rail. Fund Raiser has never ran a dull race hitting the tote in all of her eight races. Silver Swallow drops in class and she might be the one to fear down the stretch. She has been running with the likes of Zenyatta and catches a short field. Salty Fries a three year old posted strong two year old numbers. I like this horse she shortens up today and has tactical speed and can lay off the pace set by Fund Raiser. She is a contender and will most likely be overlooked on the tote board. Cherryblossommiss had to need her last race and look who's riding her! Her last race a Grade 1 was to deep of waters for her which was won by Zenyatta.
Race 4 One Mile Sixteenth Claimer (10K)
My biggest weakness in handicapping is a race like this plodder's dropping to this level. I can't trust the whole bunch. Day with Desi will take them as far as he can go and don't hold your breath or quit your day job hoping he gets to the wire on time. Marty Jones horse I can't honestly say the name will set the pace. Oh, yes Lucius Antonius a Roman Solider. Squallcreek drops from the universe in a fire sale and will probably be the betting favorite. Pass! As you can tell in this race "Anythings possible". We need Jay Trotter's method of picking a winner out of this race. All Roads led to Rome and Marty's horse is my pick.
$20 Place on 7
$6.40 = $44+$2092= $2136
Race 5 One Mile Turf Maiden Special Weight
Weak Maiden Special Weight I expected more quality horses in this field. Nashoba's Excess hammered down first time out by the public looks like the horse to fear down the stretch. But routing for the first time and a lackluster bunch of Cal-Breds he is no mortal lock. Favoloso figures to be much closer to the pace today and I expect Joel to have him closing down the stretch. Laura's Beasley was stopped at the top of the lane last race and without the trouble trip she might have won. Twistingthenightaway first time on turf and bred top to bottom I was wondering when this trainer was going to let her run on turf. Please do not dismiss her from lighting up the tote.
1. Laura's Beasley
Race 6 Seven Furlong Claimer (12K)
My expertize is this race! Right and I have some swamp land in Florida at a great Price. I like Blanc horse Fortunate Victory maybe a sign here and he might give us a Eddie D. ride closing ground at seven furlongs. Come On Baby! Major Smoke looks live and the horse to beat!
1. Major Smoke 2. Fortunate Victory
Race 7 One Mile Sixteenth Allowance
Dan Hendrick's looks like he has Diferencekindagreat spotted for action. If he does not regress and improves he is the one to fear. Turf And Sky has tactical speed is fit and loves Hollywood's cushion track. Red Eye Express gets a needed equipment change with blinkers on and I expect more heart down the stretch......... is a major contender in this wide open allowance. Now comes to Poker Dave and the last time he won was with Bejarano in the captain seat. He gets off Red Eye Express and lands hard here. Hmmm........ Enough said!
Late Pick three
7th 2,4,5
8th 1,2,6,8
9th 2, 7 Cost of Ticket $24 - $2136=$2112
Race 8 Hollywood Juvenile Championship
Watching J.P. Gusto a maiden at the time win the Willard Proctor by four and half lengths was very impressive. He enters todays race having posted the biggest speed numbers in this field. A kin to Man of War! He has been training smartly this Kentucky-Bred and looks tough to beat.
Western Mood trained by Hollendorfer a Florida-Bred loves the cushion track and he also posted big speed numbers in his first win rallying past rivals in the stretch to win by two. Leon Ayala has speed and might be sent from the rail is a player and cannot be easily dismiss at long odd and a jockey and trainer who do light up the tote board (Oscar/Valdez). Edgewick Road got third beaten by J.P but is improving and Tyler takes the call. Marvin's Magic by A.P.Indy out of a mare by West by trained by Frank Lucarelli and Mike Smith in the irons is a interesting long shot and I expect better things for his career in the future. Please don't dismiss this one in the Pick three's.
Race 9 Five Furlong Turf Maiden Special Weight
Alienation a first time starter looks like a runner for Bob Baffert. She's by no other then Hard Rock Ten and gets Baffert's leading rider for her dance today. Cayanna has the experience edge over her rivals having posted two seconds and now switches surfaces plus Bejarano lands on her today. Big Tiz by Cee Tizzy out of the mare Carson City which is bred for speed and is a horse that produces winners first time out is a major contender. Brian Koriner has two first time starter. Easy On the Eye which gets Victor E. to ride. Free Range by Dixieland Band out of a mare by Unbridled. PedaltotheMetal has a wonderful bullet on June 20th out of Meadowlake. She looks like a runner.
$20 Place On Petaltothemetal
ROI $42+ $2112= $2154
