SATURDAY'S SPOT PLAYS AT THE GREAT RACE PLACE SANTA ANITA PARK

                           BANK $100.00

                         UPDATE $ 3,678.00

RACE 1
A claiming sprint for 12 G's at the short dash of five and half furlongs going on the main dirt track. Close To The Edge has been on my watch list....has been facing much better foes then theses. He runs better over this track and over the dirt.......This Gelding trained by Jack will need a clean break from the rail so he will not get into traffic trouble when the sound of the bell starts. Joe Talamo knows Close To The Edge and I expect he will draft behind the cheap speed.

Xuang Feng the morning line favorite smoked cheaper claimer.....He double jumps in class....The X factor that needed his last run is Siempre Mio.........Mio has back class as he has run good strong claiming races over this track........do not dismiss as I expect after looking at his drills he will outrun his odds.

           1. Close To The Edge
           2. Siempre Mio
           3. Xuang Feng

RACE 2

A optional claimer going down the hill on the turf for three year old's and up. A field of six which any one of theses entries can win this race....

Analysis:

Tyler Baze rides Stormberg.......I watch that race and he ran and looked like a horse that was short.........today I expect he will be fitter and much tougher.

Mike Smith rides Snowday who got beat by one length........a short horse that almost won.....

            1. Snowday
            2. Stormberg
            3. Rangi

RACE 3

Analysis:

A first level allowance race on the dirt for fillies and mares going at the distance of one mile. The controlling speed looks to be Onna Bugisha........the concern is the outside post........but I expect she will be sent early so she does not lose any ground.

The invader trained by Coder has tactical speed and pure mile speed.......Seans Silverdancer..She should draft behind the speed and looks like she has a good turn of fott turning for home.

Bob Baffert looks to have a talented filly Consecrate that relishes the dirt over the turf and cushion track........good pedigree that I expect will be sent early to draft or press the pace.

             1. Sweet Factory
             2. Seans Silverdancer
             3. Onna Bugisha
      .

             Long Shot Consecrate

RACE 4

Analysis:

Terry Knight sends out the second timer Clever Expansion....like the excellent pedigree and the odds....good value bet!

            1. Clever Expansion

RACE 5

Analysis:

The speed is Magic Spot......need to catch her to win this turf race.

           1. Front Page
           2. Cause I'am A Bigshot
           3. Magic Spot

I was blow away when Front Page broke her maiden....she is bred top to bottom for the turf.
