SUNDAY'S SPOT PLAY
RACE 1
One mile on the turf for maiden special weight for four year old's and up........Richard Mandella freshen's up Snaps who has speed and cuts back to a mile.....He almost beat Valtari who won on Friday........Snaps switches barns and Richard takes off the blinkers.......I like the long drills to put more stay into him.......I expect him to be kicking clear heading for home today.....at four to one.......a good value bet..........
1. Snaps
2. Scarly Charly
3. China Girl Lover
RACE 6
Autumn View exits a second at this meet......trained by Puype and the bullet with Bejarano riding makes me think that this is the one to fear............Van Dien Avenue finished behind Autumn in that race......Trained by Neil French she warrants respect. Coconut Cream Pie needed her last race.....She was short and her head was not into that race...She was not relaxed.....I expect the chance to Tyler and her two works in Feb. makes her a live long-shot to try to beat the favorites.....If relaxed she has run races that she has been unlucky to lose......Let's take a shot with her on top.
1. Coconut Cream Pie
2. Autumn View
3. Van Dien Avenue
RACE 8
The filly to fear is Bee Brave when Simon Callaghan filly close like Silky Sullivan to win her U.S. debut........very hard to win when she was last and four wide getting up to win by almost two lengths.........it was her first start after five months off. I was very impressed as she was full of run at the wire......She has a talented future in the works.
Bonnie Leslie has the same closing style as Bee Brave. Her comeback race was not like Bee but she did run like a horse that needed a outing......She warrants respect.
The pace looks to have Journey On as the pace......come catch her.......Rathbaun is a interesting very live long shot.......bred to take to the grass.....she might be good enough to win this......Miller trains her and Victor takes the call.....Her last race she was hung out in the outside post.......in the La Canada .......this was on the dirt........I expect better today.
My Gi Gi is a talented mare that finished strong getting second under these condition's. Mike Smith rides......This five year old mare has run with some of the best fillies and mare's on the west coast.......She warrant's respect.
Oscar Party trained by James Cassidy was taken out in the La Canada at the gate.......she was coming off a long lay-off......This daughter of Dixie Union is talented.......good post position......Her speed figures fit and at one time beat FiftyShadesofhay.......Corey rides her.......Let's try to beat Bee Brave with Oscar Party.
1. Oscar Party
2. Bee Brave
3. My Gi Gi
Long shot Rathbaun
RACE 9
The nightcap is a grab bag of a low level maiden sprint.......Que Sorpresa is a first time starter for Cassidy not known to fire first with FTS's........but this daughter of Dixie Union is bred to win early and bred to be quick.........the morning line is 15 to 1 so this is a reach for me..........James works them slow........Let's take a shot with her.......take note a real grab bag!
1. Que Sorpresa
2. Natal
