THURSDAY AT THE GREAT RACE PLACE
RACE 1
One mile on the turf for the claiming price of 40 G's. Peter Miller drops Square Dancer who has had a ton of trouble at the gate and going though traffic. He is no win machine but has ran over his head in races. He warrants respect as a major contender. Hog's Hollow has never run this low of a level......The drop in class is huge. He has run at longer distances with speed......one mile is right for him.....The concern is the long long lay-off. Bur look who takes the mount. I expect Bejarano will have him on the lead or tight off the lead all around the track. Mambo Man a gelding that I have made money on is a stone cold closer......He will need help....a fast pace and the speed to give it up. He was claimed for 40 G's in his last race......He is in jail.........but do not dismiss if he can catch both Hog's Hollow and Square Dancer.......I like Hog's Hollow to take down the field.......He looks scary as he has run with much better company. The speed of the race is Anythingcookin........come catch this one to win.....He is tough to beat when he is on the lead......but if both Hog's Hollow and Anythingcookin go out pressing the pace the look to Mega Heat to take down this field....His last race was a mere prep because he ran on the dirt.........he runs better on the turf! I expect today the true Mega Heat will show up.
1. Mega Heat Bet (won)
2. Hog's Hollow
3. Anythingcookin
Long shot Square Dancer
Daily Double $20.00 3 with 3
PAID $300.00
RACE 2
One mile and a sixteenth maiden special weight race for three year old fillies......is the name of this tune! A small field of five fillies......all five are well bred. I like Swiss Bliss...broke slowly but finished full of run.......bred to run long and has two ultra sharp drills in the morning.
1. Sweet Bliss Bet (Won)
2. Mum
3. Lady Bugatti
RACE 3
A sprint on the main track at the claiming price of 32G's. Master Chief claimed by re-Jerry runs him once a month when he's in good form, the two month gap may not be a great sign. But He is hard to dismiss and toss. He loves this track and should get a good stalking trip. Seeking The Sherif and Explain has much more value. He is a dirt sprint specialist......Ellis hikes him up seven levels in his two sprints and held him out of jail. That's is a very positive sign. West had a bad year in 2013........but he already has a win in 2014 and he sends out Explain......5th behind Master Chief and was claimed for 25 G's. He gets a class hike off that 5th place loss. He is working fast and better on the dirt. He's Sept. 24th sprinting on the dirt would win this race. He gets a perfect trip from the outside. Gnarly Dude with three wins for Mulhall last year comes in fresh.....He can press the pace or stalk.....Candy Waltz has been off for 10 months.....He should be behind the rabbits. I like him......comes in fresh.....ran with better horses. I like the Candy Ride pedigree........coupled with the trainer Mike Pyupy and Aron Gryer.........check out his last fast drill....all systems look like a go.......Hadfunlastnight is winless on this track.......He wins on synthetic tracks.....He should find himself closer to the pace today and won 40 G's at Del Mar.
1. Candy Waltz
2. Seeking The Sherif
3. Explain ( won)
RACE 4
Let's get honest this is a very weak field of maiden going long.
One Mile and a eighth for maiden's open for four years old and up. Fearson Charisma returns after a year and a half with strong works and a sneaky trainer Powell........who entered a first time starter with win early pedigree Tempest Rising. Tempest Rising sired by Giant's Causeway can get the distance......very hard betting a FTS first time out going this distance......do not dismiss because the mother is Kris S and she is bred for distance. Senor Pegasus looks like the horse to catch on the stretch out......catch to win! Tiz Futurity by the sire of Cee's Tizzy runs a good race then runs a dull race......your call! Destino a professional maiden should love this added distance.....Early in his career he showed talent.....I bet him to place at the odds of 30 to 1.......He return a good investment.
1. Destino
2. Senor Pegasus
3. Tempest Rising
Long shot Tiz Futurity (won)
RACE 5
One mile on the turf for maiden special weight fillies and mare which are four years old and up. I like the fact that Carla has freshed up A Little Luckier.......who is hike up to a higher class. Luckier is bred by Cee's Tizzy that should take to the turf. Good connection....Harris Farms and Carla Gains is a plus! This is her first time on turf and I like her running style....
On past performance Van Dien Avenue cuts back to two turns after exiting a fast race with the winner Velvet Mesquite, who came back a won a allowance race.......She is the one to fear turning for home.
The speed might just be Hanserella but 25 times trying to break her maiden is hard to bet.
1 Van Dien Avenue
2. A Little Luckier
3. Hot And Pleasing
Long Shot Hanserella (won)
RACE 6
One mile for maiden special weight on the main track for three year old's. The King of maiden's Bob Baffert has three horses in this race.......Icy Ride which will be motoring late.......not quick and gets a bad post......but I like his running style when the true running begins down the lane. Day Of Fury got hammered in his debut.....He had ton's of trouble......walked out of the gate...then pulled hard then bolted to the mid pack......He was super green and ran green.......Hoppertunity broke bad in his debut but finished fifth...not bad for going seven furlongs......the race was won by another Baffert horse Bayern. Tunity should relish this distance who looks like he is improving race by race.....watch this one. Snuggley Bear earns paychecks......five straight checks......today he goes long and should be up on the lead or right behind the rabbit. I like the First Time Starter Rident trained by David Hoffman.....He is well bred.......excellent long seven furlong morning works......I like this talented FTS.....Rident and Icy Ride....coin flip! USE BOTH in rolling exotics.
1. Icy Ride
2. Rident
2. Day Of Fury
Long shot Hoppertunity (won)
.
RACE 7
A turf sprint going down the hill in this restricted four year old race. Botch has a super running style for the down hill course.....Belvoir has faith in Botch as he hikes him up two levels.
The speed looks to be Luz Atticus who won a turf sprint like this one..........come catch this one. This One's For Mel cuts back from route to sprint.......He has a excellent turn of foot......I expect he can sprint and just not be a router!
1. This One's For Mel
2 Botch
3. Magic Channel (won)
Long Shot Craving Carats
RACE 8
A one mile race for non winner's of two......A huge dropper is Know More........I will try to be this one! A lightly race maiden winner is Crusher who won on opening day......He warrants respect as a contender. Londinium looks scary coming from the Paul Aquirre barn.............sired by Bandini and gelded he is perfect on the dirt at this track. He Will Amaze won at this track routing......His last race he had trouble getting out of the gate.....with Corey riding......this is a major plus!
1. He Will Amaze
2. Londinium (won)
2. Very Unusual
Long Shot Crusher
