Long week-end this week.....On Saturday Grade 2 Santa Maria then Sunday the Grade 2 San Vicente.....and on  President´s Day the Grade 2 Buena Vista..... big weekend!

Creative Cause makes his three year old debut in the San Vicente....  the distance is seven furlongs.... Creative Cause ran third in the Grey Goose Breeders´Cup Juvenile at Churchill Downs losing by one length behind the winner Hansen. He comes in freshwith a bullet workout at Hollywood Park... He has won three of five starts as a two year old....He won the Norfolk Stakes and Best Pal Stakes.... He finished second in the Del Mar Futurity. He just might be the right horse for the Derby..

Slim Shadley the only speed in the race....I knew it and still bet against this Euro......Trained by Simon Callaghan and ridden by David Flores looked good winning the San Marcos Stakes last week.

Fed Biz a derby watch horse for Bob Baffert.... a well bred son of Gaint´s Causeway looked awesome.... a very talented stakes bound son....on the watch list....

Bodemeister another colt trained by Baffert...a son of Empire Maker.....was tons the best......watch list!


Pressday...the aussie.... needed race but next time out should be tighter.... and on the muscle-

Spectacular Sky won a highly regarded allowance heat ...trained by Marty Jones..... looks like she would love added distance.

Abella looked good down the hill on Sunday...trained by Bell... this filly second time out broke her maiden....watch!

Princess Arabella another Baffert freak.... a filly by Any Given Saturday......on the watch list....


DERBY HORSES TO WATCH

Creative Cause trained by Mike Harrington....like the fact that he comes back at seven furlongs for his three year old debut...
 Derby winners Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Affirmed, and Spectacular Bid all debuted at seven or 6 ½ furlongs.

Union Rags trained by Michael Matz..... He goes to the Gotham Stakes.....Matz will have him in excellent sharp form when it matters....Tab the switch in jockeys to Julien Leparoux.....

Algorithms trained Todd Pletcher...pedigree Bernardini ....We will find out more as he tries two turns.....Next stop Fountain Of Youth....tab the switch of jockeys from Union Rags to this Pletcher talented star.

El Padrino traned by Pletcher by Pulpit....gets little respect as all the talk is about Algoriths........do not take lightly....this dude. He might be the best at longer distance... derby distance is right up his alley. Next Stop the Risen Star.

Sabercat trained by Steve Asmussen ...love the Forty Niner pefigree.....look he has a killer late closing kick....upset horse....maybe next stop San Felipe---

Out of Bounds trained by Eoin Harty.....Only getting better... big long striding guy.....has a good turn of foot turning for home.....


I'll Have Another trained by Doug O’Neill ....pedigree Flower Alley-Arch´s Gal Edith by Arch.... has speed as we saw in the Robert Lewis Stakes....bred for longer... A player and the Rodney Dangerfield of Derby horses...gets no respect.


Gemologist traine by Todd Pletcher ..........Tiznow....undefeated and a grade 2 winner at Churchill....next stop Tampa then Arkansas Derby.
Hansen  trained by Mike Maker.... Tapit-Stormy Sunday by Sir Cat....Gotham....should show his speed...... Let see this race before unloading on him....

Alpha trained by Kiaran McLaughlin.....pedigree Bernardini by Nijinsky...... skipping Gotham....why so he can lose to Hansen......


Discreet Dancer trained by Todd Pletcher...Discreet Cat....watch list...

Bodemeister trained by Bob Baffert ...........Empire Maker....check out his factions....... a three year old running fast then drawing off to win by 10.... a derby player....might be the best of the Baffert stable...
