THURSDAY SANTA ANITA PARK
SANTA ANITA PARK
Race 1 Six Furlongs Claimer 40K
The speed looks to have Aqua Fever on the lead...... I picked him on top at Fairplex...... I like the drop in class. His main rival on paper is Schuylkill Punch who is taking off the blinkers will try to reel in Aqua Fever. As for first time starters I like Matthew Chew horse on the rail I'm The Gold. He looks like a runner with solid morning drills for his debut.
Race 2 One Mile Sixteenth Maiden Special
I like Lunch Time Diva to win this maiden route race. Around The Twig looks spotted for action.
Race 3 One Mile Turf Claimer 50K
The start of the Pick Six........ I like Hey Evis and I will take the new face Celtic New Year!
1. Hey Elvis 2. Celtic New Year
Race 4 Seven Furlongs Optional Claimer
Bob Baffert has been unreal sending out live winner's at this meet....... Mythical Power should love the distance.......Red Door Drive has tactical speed for the top two contenders. The upsetter is Red Eye Express ridden by Joel Rosario gets the blinkers off for his comeback race.
Race 5 One Mile Claimer 10K
It looks like at this longer distance either Self Insured or Troubletimesthree look to reel in the speed which is Super Harmony.......... if no one goes with him...... He shortens up in distance and is the speed of the speed on the front end!
Race 6 Six Furlongs Maiden Claimer 20K
A wide open affair.... The speed might be Guided Reward. Corey might just have the filly to get her first win Today! Once In Awhile is the horse dropping out of a maiden special weight race and most likely the favorite in this race.
Race 7 One Mile Sixteenth Optional 62K
The horse to beat is Game On Dude which might need a race but Baffert has just be on fire with his stable. Hard to bet against Baffert these days. Two other top contenders are Arcodoro and Sundarban beware of both these horses
1. Game On Dude 2. Arcodoro 3. Sundarban
Upsetter is Believe In Hope by Ron Ellis
Race 8 Five Half Claimer 16K
The hardest race on Today's card is this final sprint to the wire. The fastest filly in this field is Intentional....... coupled with Free From Sin........ both look spotted for action. My pick with the top two contenders is the number three horse with Quinonez in the irons....Hanakkuh......... might be this good enough to reel in Intentional. Table For One and Banana Cream Pie will make a closing kick at the wire..... My main concern is the distance which might just be too short to close with but the pace looks fast and contested. Fun race to bet and watch!
