THURSDAY AT SANTA ANITA PARK

BOURBON BAY BY DAVID MORANT

TAPIZAR BY DAVID MORANT

Race 1      One Mile Claimer 25K

1. Vulcan........ looks better at this distance. The son of Hall of Fame Tiznow has sharp workouts on this track on Jan. 17th....tab for a big performance. Clocker's like him! Beware!

2. Tiz True...... son of Tiznow..... should improve on the class drop.

3. Tropical Heat........his biggest plus is the jockey.

4. Tropical Heat has the look of a major contender.

5. Marino's Star.......won on the synthetic track....His first race on dirt with the high percentage trainer angle.

6. Raphie Ole....... the race must meltdown for him to win. I love the jockey switch.......tab for bomb!

7. Buc The Spartan........... merits respect big time.....He has been off a very long time but check out his drills in the morning time. He might be short and might not!

Race 2      One Mile Maiden Special Weight

The race is void of any sprinters with early speed on the front end. Bev N Bud should love the added distance. He needs a clean start but tab for a big time performance. Spud Spivens should also love the added distance. He will be back by the public at the windows. I expect Redemsky trained by O'Neil and look who climbs aboard here! Tab this dude for a major improvement.

Race 3      One Mile Sixteenth Allowance

This is a wide open affair!  Period!  Party With Brando looks better on the dirt then the turf. Check out his race on the dirt at Fairplex........ It was a awesome display of true grit. Warren's Got Game is back on a surface that I expect a big time improvement..... She got game and she finds a field that she can beat. I like the top contenders and I will add the fillly on the rail.......Sucanes Flower....... looks like she can climb the class ladder quickly.

Race 4      One Mile Turf Maiden Special

A competive race with the speed taking off blinkers for the first time for Eoin Harty. Popular Cause will have P-Val gunning it to the lead. Valuation trained by Craig Dollase has speed and might take the lead or sit right off the lead. These might be the top contenders...... I like the first time starter Zapeye trained by Peter Eurton. He has strung together some impressive morning drills.......take a long look because he looks live to me!

   1. Zapeye  2. Popular Cause  3. Valuation

Race 5      One Mile Turf Claimer 32K

Asperity has moved to another barn John Sadler before his last start and look ..... he won under Gomez. Can he race back to back winning races today might be the main question in this race. Lease Of Life had to need his last races and I expect this horse to be a major pain in Asperity's side today. Tab the two solid workouts after his last race and tab the switch in jockeys. Beware! Wing Forward has back class and he should move ahead big time here. Do not take this horse lightly! At this level Wing Forward is scary looking! Concerto's Thunder has check this out ten seconds. Beware Today He might have found a field that he can top with a win.

   1. Concerto's Thunder 2.Lease Of Life 3. Asperity

Race 6      One Mile Maiden 30K

Cool race with plenty of top contenders. I like several horses in this spot. Champagne Topper drops out of maiden special weight races after showing speed........Uncle Sam is a monster....... tab for a big time performance...... Beware of the first time starter Candy Ride gelding.... Megaride...and if Visual Intensity draws in......... this Benchmark gelding looks to be a runner! Cookies From Tony should relish the added distance.

  1.ChampagneTopper 2.CookiesFromTony 3.Visual Intensity

  Long shot look Eddingtonforgianna

Race 7      Six Furlongs Optional Claimer

Speed has been a big time asset on this track in the morning and in the afternoon. Supermodel has won with this company before is coming back with super fast drills in the morning. Crisis Of Spirit has been firing fast workouts as well. Pincelada has gas on the turf and on the synthetic track. She might outrun and surprise this field as he can win this race. Well Deserved has speed and has to need her first race after a lay off. She likes the dirt as you can see what she has done at Fairplex. She is a contender. The race sits up for Church Camp sitting right off the lead and then with her closing kick reel in the speed at the wire to win.......

  1. Crisis Of Spirit  2. Church Camp  3. Well Deserved

Race 8      One Mile Sixteenth Maiden 20K

A impossible race to single but I will.... I like Outrageous Fortune. I'm hoping that the short vacation will get his head together...... it's now or never....... I like the company line he has been facing coupled with the fact that he gets the ground saving rail to put his closing kick over the top to get his diploma today. Bill Spawr has been hitting on all pistons at the Santa Anita meet.

     1. Outrageous Fortune
