GULFSTREAM PARK JAN. 5TH
Gulfstream Park
Race 1 Five Half Furlongs Claimer 15K
I like the filly who is a maiden in this sprint with blinkers on....
1. Amadorable 2.Voodoointhevibes 3.Brooks Lass
Race 2 Six Furlongs Claimer 6,250 K
The pace scenario might have Convoy Ahead on the lead in a race with slow factions up front. He is coming off a Spring lay off for trainer Westley Ward. The drop is my main concern. He has won 5 out of 6 races.... and shows up here! Why the fire sale?....... if fit the rest of the field will be running for second place. Midnight Thunder is sharp and fit after a respectable race at Philly. He should sit chilly right behind Convoy Ahead. Gato Paso looks fit and has changed barns via the claim..... He is a contender along with Hyphen the Calder who won his last race. The horse on the rail is the horse I like Fundit if Convoy Ahead is not sound.
1. Fundit 2. Convoy Ahead 3. Midnight Thunder
Longshot look Hyphen
Race 3 One Mile Turf Claimer 50K
I Like Strategic Hope from up North....Alex Solis takes the call.... by Broad Bush...... should love the distance and the sod .....at great odds..... Watch Out for the speed horse Dutch Cay....... loose on the lead...... and bred for turf!
1. Strategic Hope 2. Dutch Cay 3. Duke Of Doom
Race 4 One Mile Claimer 20K
Bull Hole likes the dirt and has gas for trainer Graham Motion who does well with claimers. S.S. Stone is the one to fear! I like the colt coming back since October Grand Reality'''
1. Grand Reality 2. SS Stone 3. Bull Hole
Race 5 One Mile Sixteenth Turf Allowance
1. Last Empire........
Race 6 Six Furlongs Maiden Special
1. La Rumba 2. Miss Smarty Pants 3. Gazillion Kisses
Race 7 One Mile Turf Allowance
1. Holiday for Kitten 2. Melody Dawn
Race 8 Six Furlongs Old Hat Stakes
A tough sprint on dirt in the Old Hat Grade 3 Stakes.
Roxy Gap trained by Mark Casse has won all her races. The daughter of Two Punch with excellent pedigree gets the cozy outside post position. She has tactical speed to sit right off the pace and win. My main concern is the surface she has run on.... the turf and the synthetic surface....... this is her first start on dirt. But talented horses can run on any surface. Quantum Miss smoked a field of state bred's and posted a huge speed figure. She could be any kind...... I expect her on the front end with other speed in the field. Final Mesa.... I know when she ran at Del Mar this summer. She is one talented filly so do not just dismiss her for a win in this spot. Miss Vizcaya has been working lights out in the morning. She looks like she is in deep waters but if the speed melts down she will be picking up the pieces at the wire.
1. Final Mesa 2. Quantum Miss 3. Roxy Gap
Race 9 Seven Half Turf Maiden Claimer 75K
1. Classical Chant 2. Vipor Trace
