Race 1      One Mile Turf Maiden Special Weight

Fusa Code a new face exits a respectable race at Churchill Downs. He should love the sod having shown speed in his second attemp. He gets Joel Rosario to ride. The horse to fear! Special Kid had a troubled trip his last race. He gets back to the turf. I like the fact that he is a sprinter stretching out to two turns. The son of Tapit Uncle Sam looks like a live one for Bob Baffert. Bejarano takes the call. As for others Aloha Mr. Hand I love the pedigree on the turf. Check out his seven furlongs drills to get him ready for this route race. Beware of Smith and Semkin!

Race 2      One Mile Optional Claimer

The speed is All Due Respect. She tells this small group..... "Come and Catch Me if you Can." Ellafitz exits a key race in which the winner and the second place horse both came back and won. She can sit right behind All Due Respect and try to reel her in if she falters down the lane. Christmas Ship a sprinter is stretching out to two turns. I expect major improvement.

Race 3      Six Half Furlongs Claimer 10K

Welcome to Santa Anita .....Anne Sanguinetti.... she has a live mount with Three Pointer. Big Revolution has faced better and drops to a level that makes him deadly here. Ribald had to need his last race. Ribald got beat by only a length at this condition...... Any slight improvement will put this guy in the winners circle. K.K. Bro's is my pick

Race 4      Six Furlongs Maiden Special Weight

Kate's Event trained by Jerry Hollendorfer second race should put her right in the winners circle. I expect Gomez
with Armenian Star to improve big time. I can see him making a closing kick down the lane fo Go- Go. The first time starter Red Scare looks like a runner with solid works preparing her for a big performance.

Race 5      One Mile Turf Optional Claimer

This race has no early speed except Magic Launch. She looms large .........but I like Secret Oath who I bet her last race. She had trouble in that race. I expect with some racing luck and if she runs a race like her last race she can win this! Marty Jones has put seven solid works in her....... I love this under-rated jockey. Alonso Q.......the morning line at 8 to one with the trainer and jockey just adds to the appeal!

Race 6      Six Furlongs Claimer 7K

This race has early speed with a number of speedy fillies and mares. Lost Prophet and Our Bellini Bikini look to battle it out on the lead! Lost Prophet looks faster then Bikini therefore she might try to go gate to wire with this low level bottom feeders. If both fade then look out for Hostile Reaction if Lost Prophet or Bikini falter down the lane.

Race 7      Seven Furlongs 2 yr. old Stakes

A wide open contentious race for 2 year olds. Teddy's Promise is the speed filly and the one to catch....... California Nectar and Warren's Flyer missed in a three horse photo in the California Cup two races back. Both are contenders here! Going For A Spin gets the outside post position and defeated Screaming Regal. I love the pedigree on Screaming Regal by Old Topper...... she might just turn the tables on California Nectar and Going For A Spin.

Race 8      One Mile Eighth Turf Stakes

The Usual Q.T. has the class edge over his nine rivals in the San Gabriel Stakes G2 feature race. He was third to Goldikova and dualed the pace with Gio Ponti in the Breeders' Cup Mile. He gets back to the surface the turf that he wins at. Remember the Eddie Read Stakes race at Del Mar this summer. His main rival is Proudinsky. I love the comeback race after 11 months off where Victory Cry flew by him at the wire. Violon Sacre trained by Richard Mandella won the Kinkerbocker Stakes and the President's Cup back east. In the Citation he got hammered and had a nightmare trip along the rail. Ten wins out of 18 starts....... tell me this horse is a tough no non sense horse. Joel Rosario rides....... so tab the jockey switch. The new face in this turf division is Jeranimo who won the Strubs last February. He tried the turf for the first time at Hollywood in an allowance race and looked good winning. His turf debut gets Bejarano to re-ride this talented colt for Michael Pender.

Race 9      Five Half Furlongs Maiden 30K

 I like second time starters and Chana's Girl fits this to a tee. She had a troubled trip out of the gate in her debut. I expect with a clean break she is most likely the filly to fear! Her main rival is the speed filly One More Palo. She gets the ideal distance and do not take her lightly as she can win this sprint. Maybe 8 is her lucky number. Jerry Fanning has a first time starter who has the pedigree to win early....... Exponential...... looks live!!! The filly on the rail is a first time starter by Cee Tizzy........ she too looks live.
